I had tears in my eyes when you said that you are not going to vacuum one room so you can continue to see his paw prints. I am so very sorry for you loss. It's so unfair that pets lives are so much shorter than ours. We grow to love them as part of our family and they are taken away from us much too soon. I know you will remember all of the wonderful times you had with your dog, and the happiness he brought you.

So sorry for your loss

I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. They definitely teach us what it means to love, I believe. They will love us unconditionally, just because - it's the only way they know to love. I've been in that place, my two boxers passed within 6 months of each other and I miss them both terribly. (Time helps, but it just changes the feeling, for me it's never gone away.) I've just focused on the years of love and companionship they gave my family. That's the other thing I've learned from them - they teach us how to let go, but to never forget. You'll be in my prayers - just know that you gave your dog the only thing in the world it wanted, your love.
