My cat ran away last night....

I had a cat missing for months also. She just disappeared one day and then several months later she just showed up again. She's never been missing since then.

Hope your cat comes back soon!!!

Oh my goodness, thank you all so much for your kind words of advice and hope!!

Still no sign of Minnie (the cat :)). Last night I put out tuna but it looks to be completely undisturbed this morning. As soon as I got home from work and school I trudged out in the POURING rain and put up flyers ALLLLLLLLL over my apartment complex. I saw a few kids and asked them to keep their eyes open for her and my maintenance man is also aware. I called Animal Control and left a message for them describing her and just letting them know what happened. I sat outside for a while last night and this morning calling her name but had no luck. I had probably ten dreams last night that I found her!
:(

As selfish as this sounds, I'm worried someone actually found her and took her in and I'll never see my baby again. Of course that would be better than her roaming around lost, soaked, and frozen but I can't help but be sad that now she may be someone else's cat. :( I just had her spayed about a month ago (just days after I rescued her from the shelter) and so her hair isn't completely grown back on her belly so maybe someone will see that she was just spayed and belongs to someone.

Hopefully she'll come back soon. I would just give anything to see her again.

Thank you all sooooo much for your replies and advice. It means more than you'll ever know.

Sorry to hear she's not back yet. Hopefully she'll come home soon! Sending prayers and happy thoughts your way!

I'm sorry to hear your kitty has not come back yet. I'm praying that she will. I love cats but don't have any of my own.

Allison, If the weather is that bad, Minnie is probably using her survival instincts and hiding out somewhere. Chances are, she is somewhere close. Just keep walking around, calling her, especially at night when the traffic is gone and it is quiet. I would also offer a reward - since you are in an apartment with what sounds like lots of kids, it will give them an extra incentive to be on the lookout. (Beware, though, I got some cruel calls when I put up all of the signs.) I would leave her regular food out for her, in addition to the tuna. If you have a balcony or little porch, put stuff out there for her to smell (if you can keep it dry!). I hope the weather improves soon.

I hope and pray your kitty comes home soon. Please let us know the minute you find her. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

Aw, thanks you guys. :) My sister thinks that as long as it's raining as hard as it is, I won't find Minnie--which you all seem to agree with. Once it gets nicer out, it may be easier.

Thanks again for the well-wishes. :) I can't wait to post that I have found her. Hopefully that will be soon......

It won't matter if your other kitty's droppings are mixed in - just scatter some clumps from the litter box - do this in the tree line too. Since your kitty is familiar with the one that stayed behind, she should recognize that scent as well.

Of course - let us know as soon as she returns! (PS> My Mom had a cat that was spayed that stayed away for 2 whole months and THEN came strolling back up. My dad saw her feet from under the car when he was changing the oil....he could not believe his eyes!)

:)

I'm sending out "come home minnie" vibes into the universe. Why do kitties have to do these things to us? Hope she's back asap.

Oh no!! I do hope she comes home quickly. Sending all my good vibes your way.
