My bil has been discharged from the hospital to an

Calico

Cathlete
apartment run by the hospital till he is able to go home probably another 2-3 weeks. He is doing very well and the stem cells have engrafted with a clean immune system (won't know if it is cancer free for 8 weeks).

Thanks for all the prayers and keep them coming because he ain't home yet,LOL!!

Annette.
Where is your bil at? My Dad is scheduled to have that done for his cancer, that is now gone too, in the next month or so? How old is he? Did he have chemo or radiation or both? The hospital told my parents for him to recover in FL.

He is in Denver, and he has non hodgkins lymphoma which was initially treated with chemo cocktail only. It came back within 2 months of getting a cancer clear, and now he has just undergone a self to self stem cell transplant which as appeared to have taken.

He will be at the apartment until the end of January.

I hope and pray that your father's treatment works for him. It has been a very long rode for my bil and all the family involved along with other things that have happened this year.

Annette that is wonderful news... I often think about your BIL and how he is doing. Thanks for the update.

Annette,
That is great story, I will praise and pray to our LORD that your bil recovers. My Dad is scheduled for his at the end of January, and I supposed to fly out there (to Mayo) the 3rd weekend but I have a fear of flying that is already causing me anxiety about the trip.
Was is bone cancer? My Dad had non-hodgins lymphona called Britkat's disease.
Yes, I understand about all the other things that happen on top of this. My 7 year old niece passed away a year ago in November due to complications from a stem cell transplant for MLD, and we almost lost my Dad on his 2nd round of Chemo that same week this year. The change happened when he gave it to GOD, literally, over night.

Please keep us posted on your bil so that we can rejoice and celebrate with you when he comes home. Thank you for being brave and sharing your story.

From my understanding, my bil's cancer was not in his blood or bone marrow when it all began just in his shoulders and maybe another organ was involed. When it came back the 2nd time (in between he also had hip replacement surgery), it had gone to stage 4 and was in his blood and bone marrow (kinda like Leukemia). They tried chemo again but it wasn't working like it had before, so it was either a self to self transplant (which has a higher success rate and less recovery time) or sibling to self transplant (which has a higher rejection chance and longer recovery). He went with self to self after having to use a experimental drug to get his stem cells to proliferate out to his limbs for retrieval.

Bone cancer can be a tumor on a bone or I think can involve the marrow also.

I am sorry to hear about your niece she was very young. My fil died on Dec. 8th and my own mother passed away back in Jan. of this year, so it has been a rough year for us.

Thanks for praying.

Hello Annette.
You and your family have been through some much this year, I hope that the New Year gives a new beginning for you and your loved ones. Cancer is curable but it's still nasty stuff. For my Dad, they found it in stage one from malaria he got while in Africa on a medical mission to fight HIV/AIDS. For alot of my grieving of Maddie, thank GOD, I was able to work out. It became my form of worship to our LORD. Now, I'm doing it so if I do get bone cancer, my chances to beat it greatly increase.

I will continue to pray for you and your family.
