My Baby's Coming Home!!

Two months ago my daughter, Elizabeth, went on her very own 'Excellent Adventure' to Cairns, Australia. She braved the long trip alone, has had a fabulous time and is on her way back home tomorrow. She turned 19 while she was away and her sisters and I are beside ourselves with excitement for her to come back home. She worked with Grade 2's two days a week with a dear family friend. No backpack experience for her this time, she stayed with friends who live at a luxury resort (rocks to be her!!). She's snorkeled through coral reefs, hiked through rainforests, travelled to remote islands and, from the look of her facebook pictures, had time for some partying also. Thought I'd share a few pictures with everyone :)

I'm glad she's had fun, can't wait to hug her tight!! Now she gets to come home for another summer, then off to University in the fall.

Take Care
Laurie:)

Isn't it hard when they are a bit older but away from you on their own?

What beautiful pictures - thanks for sharing - that is our plan for our 10th anniversary in Aug 2010. Also hear New Zealand is beautiful.

Enjoy holding her close for a few months before she treks off again ;)

Laurie, you must be so excited to have her back home! The pictures are beautiful, as is your DD! It must be a bittersweet time for you right now, sending your eldest off to college. I know you'll send her off with style and a good bit of motherly wisdom. Enjoy your summer with her. :*

What fun she had! And what a beautiful country, wow, I wish you could have gone with her.:)

OMG .. it DOES rock to be her!!

WOW .. Austraila . . always wanted to go there ... beautiful pics... thanks for sharing .. imagine she had some H### of some adventures!!!

:7

Jacque, yes it is hard but thank goodness for Facebook and calling cards, they've allowed us to bridge the distance and stay in touch. At lease with University she'll only be 2 hours away:)

Leanne, thanks, she is pretty cute, smart and funny too...not that I'm biased;)

Michele:* Right back atcha Honey! :D

Catherine, I hear you!! I would have loved that but, alas, the money tree is picked clean yet again.

Poochy, I wonder if I'll ever hear all of the gritty details of her nights on the town...that's okay, I've got my secrets too;-)

Thanks for your kind words everyone...after I posted, I wondered if I should have, you made me glad I did!

She's on the plane home in less than 2 hours...with lay overs it will take her 41 hours to get homex( I don't envy her that!!

Take Care
Laurie:)

Both the pictures and your daughter are beautiful! What a great experience for her...she'll remember it the rest of her life!

Laurie,
I'm not sure my math is right, but is today the day your DD arrives home? If so, enjoy your reunion! Like others have said, your DD is beautiful and I loved the photos! What a gorgeous country! Thanks for posting.
