My Baby is growing up!!

Hi everyone,
It's strange for me to read this forum and not post much - you get so used to that during pregnancy. Well, my Isabella is going to be a year old a week from Friday!!
She has completely left crawling behind and is truly a toddler now!! I would never have imagined that last year at this time. (On the eve of my due date - which we missed by two weeks!) What a wonderful little person our girl is. She is such a happy and outgoing baby, with a smile (and a laugh) that can transform the gloomiest mood.
I quit my job in April to stay home with her, and I am so glad I did. It has been a challenge to balance everything on one paycheck, but the rewards are priceless to me.
Sorry to sap out on everyone, I just realized what day it was and got sentimental!! I'm sure on the 10th, I'll be posting again!!!

Wow, it sounds like you have been very blessed. I'm glad you are finding staying home to be very rewarding. I have decided to do so and think of all the things I would be missing with my precious baby if I didn't! He is one month today, and I can't imagine what he will be like in a year. It must be such an amazing thing to see the exciting changes in your child, especially when it's your first and it is all new to you! I actually have cried a few times thinking of my little baby getting bigger, so it is nice to hear how happy you are with your "growing up" little girl!

Emy,
Make a mental note of this post, I'm sure in 11 Months you'll think of it and will also look at your little guy in awe! (Not that you don't do this on a daily basis, as I do!) I have been truly blessed, and I wouldn't change a thing. I hope you enjoy your time at home with your little one as much as I do. I started teaching her Baby Signs at 9 months, and she is really "talking" to me alot now. It amazes me when she will show me a sign, like when we are at the mall and she sees another baby, or a picture of a fish - she relays the message to me loud and clear with her signs. I just could gush and go on all day. Take care, it's nice to know I'm not alone in my wonder!

Hi Tricia! I can so relate to how you feel. I have a little guy who is just past 3 1/2 and another 1 1/2 year old. It seems as if I was just pregnant and sharing all my experiences with everyone here too. I also have many of those mushy moments. Don't you just love your kids and what they bring out in you:) Happy early birthday to your wee one. Take Care!

Hi Tricia,
I have an Isabella too! She is number 3 out of 5 and is 4 1/2 now.

I chose to stay home with our kids as well. And living off one paycheck is hard, but as you say, the rewards are priceless.

Take care,
Maggie

Hi Tricia,
I was just taking a walk down memory lane and reading the forum when I saw your post. My baby will be 13 months on Friday and I can't believe it either.

I don't post much on ANY forum any more because I'm still trying to balance everything - working part time and taking care of a very active child and just keeping the house from being total chaos!

Anyway, congrats on getting through that first year. My sweetheart (Holly Alexandra) sounds a lot like yours. Definitely the absolute best thing that has ever happened to me.

Take care!
Dana

I just had to jump in on this one too because I'm going through the same thing! My Olivia Rose will be 13 months on the 14th and I can't believe the difference a year makes! The walking, shreaking, laughing and suttle manipulating all amaze me. She's been calling me "mama" for about 3 weeks and I can't get enough of it.

I too am trying to balance working part-time, being a mama, keeping the house from being a complete disaster and spending quality time with Miss Olivia.

How exciting to hear similar stories of what we all are experiencing with our beloved little ones!

Hi, Jeni! I always remember you because your daughter is exactly one month younger than mine. Kim just turned 14 months on October 14. She isn't walking yet (I keep watching all my friends and colleagues with 11- and 12- month olds who are walking) but I think she is close -- she stands unsupported, just doesn't take steps unless she is holding onto something. But she is talking up a storm and I can't believe the changes in the last year. I can already see glimpses of the woman she is going to be some day.

It is so much fun to read about everyone else's babies growing up. It really does happen so fast, doesn't it?

Mine is also growing up!

I haven't been here for a while and have missed this forum.

My son, Max, is also one next month! This first year has FLOWN. He has brought so much joy yo us all. I never thought I was capable of loving anyone as much and have experienced unconditional love for the first time. :)

Our children are a blessing and it is a privilege to have them :D

Much love and light to you all :p
