I voted as well - it's usually too late by the time I see the message. She has some stiff competition this time - but I'm a fan of Aussies. Mine is a little furrier as I have the Aussie shepherd, not Cattle Dog - but they're both great dogs. Ali is gorgeous!

Thank you all very much for your Ali votes all week!! I'm really touched that you would take the time to do it. I'll let you know what happened on Monday either way. Thanks again!

>He is so cute! I probably missed all of the earlier posts,

Thanks Missy! She's actually a purebred Australian Cattle Dog. And the reason we have her is because of that floppy ear. The person who bred her parents specifically kept Ali because she wanted to show her. However, as she was growing it became apparent that one of her ears wasn't cooperating. So her show career was over before it started!! That's okay, we like that ear too.

I love the shepherds!! I like everything about them and honestly I thought about getting one, but I know I wouldn't maintain that coat the way it should be maintained. They're beautiful dogs. Do they cause as much trouble as ACDs?!!

The coats aren't that tough to maintain, actually. I brush Jimmy a few times a week and take him to the groomers about once every three or four months. The coats were bred to make combing burrs (common here in California where they originate) easy so they don't tangle too much. But, yeah, they are as much trouble as ACD's. Jimmy is a smarter than a lot of people I know. :+ And he's such a BOY! It's like having a 60 pound 4-legged toddler running around the house who has the manners of a dog. :D Have fun with Ali - she's gorgeous!
