Musings of the choreographically challenged

Bobbi

Cathlete
Rhythmic Step! In all my years as a devoted Catheite, I have done my best stepping counting by 8's. Lately, working out faithfully, I noticed I was cha chaing and triple stepping rather easily for a avowedly clutzy woman with no inate sense of rhythm. Inspired, I pulled out RS and began to work on it and except for my very pathetic shuffling, I did it. I once ended up lying on the floor having tripped over the board instead of trippling around it and as always, I was grateful no one observed me working out but after all these years, I can do RS! I am so pleased, I wanted to share this with you who can appreciate the triumph. Today, I finally did all of it, the Challenge included. Up until today, I worked sequences 1, 2 and three and pooped, put off taking on the challenge for another day. But I got it today! No longer will I refer to myself as choreographically challenged. I can't wait to see what the new workouts have to offer when the new workouts come out. I am hoping the choreograpy is complex for the first time in a decade of working out with Cathe. Let my family think I am wierd. Let their eyes glaze over when I tell them about how I finally conquered Ryhthmic Step. Can I get a whoop whoop? :D

How about a http://bestsmileys.com/excited/3.gif[/img] or a http://bestsmileys.com/signs12/15.gif[/img] Bobbi....way to go...:)

Bobbi...you are such a blast. You must be feeling much better!! Glad to hear RS went without a hitch and you are still standing. You pat yourself on the back and celebrate with a donut!! I'll help ya if you'd like!!

YAY Bobbi, that's a great feeling huh? A similar thing happened with me when I did RS last month. I was use to the stumbling around and "running" to catch up. This was only my fourth time doing it (because I dreaded picking that one up) and wasn't expecting much but hoping to get my heart rate up some. When I went through the combos without a hitch, I almost lost my concentration from shock. I find that as I do Cathe's w/o's, I pick up new step routines easier. Of course, I still can't figure out Christi Taylor!! :+

Yaay whoop, whoop, Bobbi!! You mean there is still hope for me? In sequence three, I still secretly fudge a few steps here and there when I need too;) I gave up hope years ago that I someday the NYC Rocketts would call me for their Christmas Spectacular. Now at least, I know there is a chance that someday I may be able "to get" all the steps to RS.

Robin:)

Re Rhythmic Step, I've never made it past the warm-up, and even that tangles my brain and feet when I do it. So . . . .

Whoop whoop, as it were - I could NEVER do the whole thing!

Congrats!

^5's for Bobbi!!!

I still end up stumbling around the step when she throws those triple steps around the board in. I think it's in combo 2 and I ALWAYS forget about them.

Hey, I haven't made it all the way through Basic Step without tripping on those darn "around the world" thingies. I aspire to your greatness!!!

Congratulations on your accomplishment! It gives me hope..lol

Michele:)

I did RS a few times in a short period of time...the first time I skipped the challenge primarily because segment 3 went waaay over my head! The next few times I did it, I SKIPPED segment 3 AND the challenge! LOL I haven't touched it since...it's been months...when I go back to it hopefully I'll be able to pick up segment 3 so I can CONSIDER moving on to the challenge.:p

Congrats on your accomplishment!:+

Awesome accomplishment Bobbi!!!
Now, young grasshopper, you must at the Challenge on to other mishmoshes all by itself, no breakdown of the routines, lets see how good your memory is}( }( Then you will achieve the black headband of stepping, LOL!

Noooo! I am sadly two days behind on workouts that's to my brief stint as Juror # 3 which started on Tuesday. Thanks for your kind words. Mattea i fear I may be back at sqaure one from my brief hiatus so mishmoshing must wait while I refresh. Briee, donuts! They are evil! Robin, oh yes, there's hope. If I can do it anybody can and that is no lie. Annette's brain tangle is an apt description but as my dear husband always acuses me of obsessing, once it trickled into my brain that the time was now to conquer RS, there was no turning back. The little blue engine that could sums it up best, "I think I can. I think I can". Maybe I can't? Shut up, inner voice of doubt. I shall if it's the last thing I do. And something had just clicked. There was that one day when I woke up feeling like sunshine and lollipops and got just enough to keep trying through the more usual days of grumbling as I set up. :D By the time I am finished, I will get through it flawlessly at least once. Today I am doing the first of the GS workouts I haven't used yet. It is time for that too. My kids are on Spring Break and have had the better part of two days to get the jump on my efforts to keep the upper hand maintianing an orderly house.
I need to cleanse my brain and my soul since we convicted a man of stalking and aggravated harrassement and I have been on my butt listening to phone messages wherein he threatened to dismember his son in front of his wife to punish her for leaving him. This is the first time I have been chosen as a juror and I was facinated by the process and proud to have served. :) I am off to work out!

Way to go Bobbi. And good job on the jury duty. Fascinating, in a staring-at-the-scene-of-the-accident kind of way. The last time I was called to serve, it was a drug charge, and the jury was hung, cause one woman couldn't find the dealer guilty unless someone actually saw the drugs pass from her hand to the buyer's. It was very frustrating, but the dealer was found guilty during the re-trial.

Hey BOBBI...great RS.woman..great civic minded woman...great philosophical woman...just plain out GREAT WOMAN!!!

Glad to hear from you.:)

Thank you, Melody! I'm keeping you around to make me feel good about myself!

Robin, the defendant made our job very easy. I can see how easy it would be to find the process frustrating though. I was bummed at first because of my kid's Spring Break but that turned out to be serendipitous since I was chosen because I didn't have to arrange child care for Sam.

I decided to do RS again and I'm darned if I am not really finding it fun which is so funny when I think back to my first tries when it came out. I may be becoming coordinataed in my old age. Perhaps I will learn to dance at long last! Who wants to go out dancing? :D
