Well now, how wise and balanced can I be if I am still so tickled pink by such nice words? :D

I totally agree with Morris!

Thanks so much Morningstar for all of your input. I thought I had reached that place of not caring so much about each calorie, etc. I am much much better than I used to be. I don't want to be a size 4 anymore. It's too hard and really, I'm much healthier a little bigger than that (mentally and physically). I refuse to give up an entire food group or my glass of wine, so I'm not as disciplined as I could be, but I agree that life should be enjoyed not a series of moments spent calculating calories. I don't like to diet -- that's what's made me slip into such obsession in the past... I simply like to adhere to healthy eating habits. But I just thought I'd be in a different place by now since I'm so happy with my workout routine... Anyway, I'm rambling... I appreciate your posts!! You've given me some things to think about, most definitely!

I absolutely agree that you shouldn't give up any food groups (and that's coming from a vegetarian!) or your nice, moderate, healthy glass of red wine. That's not about discipline, that's about a healthy, balanced enjoyment of food and life. I'm glad you don't obsess about food or a diet. With the addition of some healthy protein and veggies and some calories, who knows? That might just be the fuel your body needs to shape itself into what you're hoping for. I get the joy of losing weight and hitting targets - it's just that that isn't really what we are working for when we're doing all the work of dieting and working out. We aren't really working to be skinny; we're working subconsciously to be happy and when we reach our conscious targets and discover we aren't happy, it tends to knock us for a loop.

I may have just found the solution... I just started the CLX Lean phase. I did it many months ago, but this time am able to go heavier and it kicked. my. butt... Maybe I was not reaching my lifting capacity. We'll see... I also plan on upping the veggies/protein.

Thanks again!!!! :)

Sounds like a lot of food, but it averages about 1500-1600 calories at most, which is within my recommended food allotment.

Seriously????? It sounds like very LITTLE food to me!!!!! My initial reaction is that you need to bump up that lunch - that's a snack, not a lunch. Add in a salad with some chopped chicken breast, or grilled veggies with turkey, or whatever. Where did the recommendation come from? 1500 - 1600 seems crazy low to me, unless you are really tiny.

I'm definitely not really tiny, but I figured that I'm only moderately active since I'm not on my feet all day. I work a lot at my computer and playing with my kiddos on the floor -- not walking all the time. I do work out every day... It's just soooo hard to determine what activity level you are, you know? That's a good idea about bumping up my food at lunch, but that's such a busy time of day around here... feeding my kids lunch, getting the baby down for a nap, doing laundry, etc... I rarely take time to sit and eat a "meal." Guess I should, though...
