"Muscle max" alternative

Hi there!! huge cathe fan and been doing the workouts for a long time. I've decided to try the monthly rotation, but i don't have the strength or endurance yet to get through some of them. Should i just do as much as I can for as long as i can, or try a more 'beginner' type strength work out?

I would say just do what you can with the workout. Pick whatever weight works for you and do as many reps as you can. That's how I started out and Muscle Max was one of the first strength dvds I used. You'll be surprised how strong you get with each time you do it. In the beginning, I could not do all the reps or even match Cathe's weight selection. But now,10yrs later, it's a whole new story. Good luck and have fun with it.

I guess it depends on how you feel during your wkout. too. You might want to go a lot lighter in weights so you can keep up with the wkout (so you get an idea of how it flows) OR go as heavy as you safely can and do only what you can. Many times I can't go as heavy as Cathe, simply modify. Over time you'll get there. ;)

on the endurance type workouts I sometimes just take a 1 rep break, and that's all I need to be able to finish.

For the strength, Just do as heavy as you can. This mean if you can not keep up with Cathe and crews speed,
select lighter weight. Also focus on tension while excuting each move. The ability to keep the tension while you
lift need to improve to get stronger. It is not all about the load.

To improve the endurance you need to improve your VO2max. Long steady cardio and Hiit.
Hiit compared to long steady cardio improve your cardio vascular ability fast.
More light weight you lift with less rest, better your endurance level gets.

If you are new to Hiit. I would advise you start slowly from 5,10,15 minutes.
Gradually increase.

All the best,
