Muscle Confusion?

I have heard a lot of talk and read a few articles that muscle confusion isn't a good thing and is considered a "hoax" in some forums. The thought process behind this is that your body needs to consistently perform the same exercises in order to see improvement and that improvement is achieved through progressive overload, not switching it up. However, I know that in the past you have been an advocate for Muscle Confusion. So, I am a bit confused. I know that your field is a fluid one that is constantly changing based on new research and discoveries; what are your thoughts today on muscle confusion? In order to gain strength and see results, should one "confuse" muscles or stick with a more regimented program like STS? Not sure what to think after reading so many opposing views. TIA ❤️
