Much needed "active rest" week!

So at the beginning of this week, week 4 of Meso1, I was all like I don't need a rest week, but today, after disc 12 I am SO unbelievably wiped out. It's like STS was designed to sink in exactly at the end of the 4 week period :p. So, tomorrow for sure is a total day off, no workout. I'll be playing it by ear for next week. I am missing STS full body and High reps, and was hoping to get in at least just High Reps once, and I wanted to try the new Patrick G. workout I bought.

Yep, I just finished Meso 1 this week, too. I was feeling the same way, until disc 12, then, bam! I'm shot!! Weird, huh? I've been doing yoga and cardio for my rest week. I honestly haven't given myself a rest week in years, really. I've taken a day or two off occasionally, but no heavy weights for a week?? I thought I'd be struggling with this rest week, but no, I'm enjoying it! That last leg dvd in meso 1 had me sore for 3 days!!!! When do you plan to start meso 2? I'm going back this Wed.

Nancy, I know I'm still sore from disc 12, I did it on Friday, I had a massage today, and it was pretty rough when she was kneading the backs of my legs. I'm going to start meso 2 on Saturday, I didn't workout yesterday, and so far not today. But that's it for full rest days. Have fun with Meso 2!

How are you liking the STS so far? I really like it; Meso 1 went by fast!! What are you going to do for the remainder of your active rest week? ~~Nancy J.~~
 
I am loving it, this is my third time through, my second time I didn't finish it and wasn't doing nearly enough cardio. It actually surprised me how I forgot how much I love this program. I can definitely feels gains in strength and just in how my muscles feel, my legs feel like rocks right now, granted rocks floating in a little too much fluffy stuff, but rocks none the less :p.

I'm starting to feel a little more energetic now, so probably going to head downstairs to do something, I'll be sticking with my normal cardio like kickboxing and turbo fire, maybe I'll take it down a notch and just do a Turbo Jam for less intensity, I don't want to do any HIIT workouts this week or anything TOO high impact, but I do want to get in a day with High Reps, and check out that new Patrick Goudeau I bought.

A few of the weeks in Meso 1, I added in one day of a circuit weight workout to get in 1 full body workout. I think one week I did high reps, one week I did Jackie Warners 30 minutes training dvd, and another week I got in one of the Kelly Coffee Meyers dvds.

I would like to try and get in a couple of full body lighter weight workouts during Meso 2 as well, but probably not in Meso 3. BTW, I love Meso 3, I love the short sets with really heavy weights, I had never done that before STS.
