movie suggestion?

My 2 all time favorites, both are chick films, one more than the other:

The Unbearable Lightness of Being (also has all that political conflict going on from the late 60's with Prague and Russia) LOVE this film

Like Water for Chocolate - it's foreign, got chocolate in the title, and is all about cooking and the passions it evokes!

Lorrie,

Did you ever read the book, "The Unbearable Lightness of Being?" I liked the movie, but I loved the book. (Oh, and I can't count how many times I've watched "Like Water for Chocolate." It reminds me of Gabriel Garcia Marquez' books.

Sorry to interrupt this thread.

Hi TeTE - yep - read both of those books. I agree - I loved Lightness - Kundera was such an amazing writer! On Like Water for Chocolate - the book actually has recipes and I went to a book discussion where participants made some of the dishes. Of course without the mother's ghost and the romance something was missing - but it was spectacular nonetheless! That is a BEAUTIFUL film though! (Also sorry for the hi-jack. Carry on!)
