Hey Lori and Randi! Lori, it sounds like you've gotten started on your SS rotation. Randi, I hope you had a TERRIFIC anniversary weekend.

Today I did Step Works and practiced a few pikes. I did the PLB stretch. I forgot what a great cardio workout Step Works is. Here is what I have planned for the week:
Monday: KPC/L&G 82 min.premix/L&G ankle weight premix
Tuesday: MIC WU & Hi/Lo only/SB Challenge only/PP Upper body(2 or 3 set premix)
Wednesday: BC Cardio&Lower Body only premix/PP Lower Body Premix(2 sets)
Thursday: C&W/PUB abs instead of C&W abs
Friday: Imax 1 or 2 or combo of 1&2/SS abs
Saturday: SS Three Set Premix - no abs

Yes, Angela, I did. I have to or I will not get all 6 workouts in beofre I leave Friday morning. Yesterday I did Firm It Up, and Imax 2, 6-10. Today I will do Mix It Up, and I am thinking a KPC premix for about an 1/2 hour.

Good morning,

I am getting over some kind of stomach bug, or something I ate on Sat. night made me sick. I spent ALL DAY yesterday on the couch or in the bathroom (yuck). I feel okay today but not 100%. Needless to say, I didn't exercise yesterday and won't today, but I'm hoping to start my SS rotation tomorrow with Shape It Up. Sounds like you have a killer rotation planned out for the week Angela, and I'm glad you got started on your SS rotation already Lori.

We moved floors at work so everyone is still getting settled in, including me. Lots of stuff is just in the wrong place...anyway, talk to you later. Have a great day.

Well I have Monday's workout under my belt...woo hoo! I like when I can get home and get it done early. I left school at 3:00 today so I had a little time to unwind before I began my workout.

Good for you Lori getting the workouts in as busy as you are. You have a jewelry show coming up right?

Randi, I hope you feel better soon. I'm so sorry you were sick for your anniversary weekend. Take care of yourself.

Good morning! I'm feeling so much better today. Back to normal. I did Shape It Up this morning, it was a good workout but not as hard as I remembered. I'll go heavier next time. Tomorrow is Firm It Up (lower body) and I'll bring my stuff and go to the gym for cardio.

Lori, do you design jewelry? Do you have a website by any chance?

Angela, glad you got to workout early! I love it when my day allows for that, especially on the weekends.

Hi Angela and Randi!!! I did Tone It Up today, and the step portion of MIC. That is a tough aerobic workout. That one gets me worse than any of the others.

I do not design jewelry, I am an independent distributor for Premier Designs. We have very high quality High Fashion Jewelry. We do home shows, like Pampered Chef, or Tupperware??? I also do not have a website. Premier wants us to have the personal touch, so no website sales are allowed. I can send you a catalogue and you can check it out if you would like?? I'd love to do a home show for you and help you earn free jewelry, but I am sure we live in different states. I live in MI, where do you live??

I'm sorry to hear about your dad - I hope all goes well.

I like the hi/lo portion of MIC but I can barely tolerate the step portion. I think it's all those sashays in the beginning - they drive me crazy! I know, that makes me sound crazy, LOL.

I had a thought this morning while doing SIU and wanted to see what you all think. Would it be total overkill to add on some add'l weight work to these workouts? I was thinking maybe some extra sets of whatever body part each day...something to round things out a bit. I felt like certain body parts weren't being worked hard enough this morning. Maybe I should give it a week and see how everything is worked by the end? I'm thinking of tacking on the CTX upper segments. Like I have the time, right?

Anyway, thoughts?

Keep us posted on your dad. I have heard of Premier jewelry and I think I went to a show once quite a few years ago. It is an excellent company.

Randi, glad you are feeling better. I can't comment on the extra work as I do not own the Slim Series and just have no idea about these workouts. Hopefully Lori can help you out there.

Well, I haven't worked out yet but plan on doing my scheduled workout for Tuesday. I haven't done MIC hi/lo in a while and I will tack on the SB challenge instead of doing the step portion. Then PP Upper body. I have 3 sets planned but may end up doing 2 sets. Have a great rest of the day!

I'm post happy today! Things are slow here...

As far as SS goes, it's just a very high rep weight workout. Some cardio thrown in on some of the workouts, mostly light weights/high reps though. This is what happened to me last time. I started out fine, enjoying the series and seeing some results I liked, then I started second guessing everything and wound up going back to a more traditional heavier weights/cardio split.

I'm committing myself to doing a four week rotation of just Slim Series. I need to see what happens if I stick with it. Wish me luck, lol :).

I'll take any thoughts you have Lori. I guess I can try it w/CTX and see how it goes. I'm going to use CTX for cardio as well - they are perfect for adding on to SS.

Good morning! Where is everybody? I'm responding to my own posts again.

This morning I did Firm It Up (the lower body w/o). Good workout, I always work up a good sweat with that one. No add'l cardio, I didn't feel like going to the gym and I didn't allow enough time for cardio at home this morning. I'm going to start jumping rope again and hopefully I'll find the missing parts to my exercise bike that have been lost since we moved last year. I'm on mission to find them this weekend.

Tomorrow Mix It Up is on the schedule, as I remember it this is my least favorite of the series. Does this one use bands, Lori? I can't remember but I guess I should pull them out just in case I decide to use them. Usually I don't.

Oh, I have a mini-goal: a formal party at the end of this month. So I'm shooting for looking as good as possible in whatever dress I decide to get. Which is another goal since I hate dress shopping for a specific event...

Good Morning Everyone!!!! I have a cold, have had for 3 days, but today, I feel awful. I could not sleep last night, tossed and turned, hot then cold, YUCK!!!

Today, if I get the energy, I am going to do the KPC premix, or maybe the CTX Kickbox since thjat is a little easier, and do Cool It Off. It will feel good to stretch.

Randi- I am adding in 4 extra cardios per week, 1/2 hour cardios is all. I have though the same thing about adding in more weight work, but what I have been doing instead is using higher weights. She uses 3,5,and rarely 8. I use 5, 8, and 10's, mostly 8's and 10's. I am also going to 12's on the chest work. The 10's are too light. I would really like to stick with this for 4 weeks too, to see how I look. Maybe on one day if you feel unsure about it, you could throw in SS, or PP, or PH, any full body workout. Just a thought....

Hi Lori,

I hope you feel better soon. Take it easy, get your rest and only workout if you truly feel up to it. You have a big weekend ahead of you and you'll need your energy for that.

I like your idea of going heavier on the weights for upper body and maybe even doing a total body strength w/o once a week. I'd probably never have time to finish everything if I was trying to do cardio, an SS w/o and add'l strength on top of it all. I get up early enough as it is. If I had to do all of that I'd have no time to sleep.

I'm planning on doing 4 cardios as well, w/jumping rope I'll do 20-25 min. until I work back up to 30 min. continuous roping. It's been a while but it's such great exercise.

Hey Lori & Randi,
I hope you are feeling better Lori....I agree with Randi, take care of yourself for you busy weekend.

Yesterday I did my workout as planned....MIC WU & Hi/lo/SB Challenge only/PP Upper Body 3 set premix.

Today I will do what I have planned or straight up cardio...I haven't decided. I'm very stressed about a lot of junk at work. Many two hour meetings coming up after school and a lot of paperwork and maybe an additional certification. All the things the President and states come up with to make a teacher "highly qualified" do nothing but take us out of the classroom and away from what we are supposed to be doing...teaching. It is so FRUSTRATING! I ought to quit and work in an office where I could just do paperwork. Teaching is not what it used to be and our children are suffering for it. There is a reason a high percentage of teachers quit before making it to the 5 year mark. Anyway, I will quit. So much for spreading the sunshine today, eh? Have a good one guys!:-(
 
Now I'm doing what you're doing Randi...answering my own post...tee hee. I feel better now that I have completed my workout. I went ahead and did BC cardio&lower body premix/PP Lower body 2 set premix...good workout!:p
 
Well, I did do my KPC premix. It was not easy, but I did it. I also did about 20 mins. of stretching. I also got some new medicine today and hopefully that helps me a little more. I was taking Robitusin, and I got some Vicks. One for day, and one for night. I hope I feel alot better tomorrow. I can not be sick this weekend!!!! Oh that will be horrible. Well, I will check in tomorrow, then I am off. Have a good night girls!!!

Hi Angela and Lori,

Angela, sorry that you're going through so much garbage at work. I've been thinking of a career change lately - going back to school and becoming a teacher - working in an office is frustrating. I've been going through some stressful stuff the past couple of days. Anyway, I hope things get better for you.

Lori, glad you're feeling better, I hope the new meds work. You need all your energy this weekend!

I didn't work out this morning. Stress combined with a crying baby last night made for a very tired me this morning. I just wasn't in the mood and I had no energy. Tomorrow is another day.

Sorry I sound so dismal today! I'm working on a better mood as I type...

Randi- We all have bad days. I am kinda having one of those today. I am SO tired. I have been busy all day, and I don'y know if it is the cold or what, but I am whipped. I did Tear It Up! today and it almost killed me. I was so tired a few times I almost quit, but I didn't.

Angela- I hope your troubles at school get better also. Work problems can be horrible. Being a teacher has got to be tough!!

Well, gotta go guys. I have to iron my son's shirt for him, and take our dog to my parents for the next two nights. I will check in on Sunday. Have a good weekend!

Randi - hang in there! You're absolutely right...tomorrow is a new day! I teach a kindergarten behavior class and when my student's have had a rough day I tell them the beauty of tomorrow is that it's a new day and we get a fresh start to make better choices!

Tonight I didn't do C&W as planned. I pulled out an oldie...Step Fit minus CD/PUB abs to pikes then I practiced a few pikes on my own/PUB Heavy Weight Premix. I am not doing to well on the pikes. I am thinking that I will focus on other ab work...really sucking it in and getting my abs really strong...then start in with the pikes again. I don't know! Well I'm off to watch Survivor! Lori, you're already gone I'm sure, but I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Angela, are you a kindergarten teacher? I always thought that teaching little ones must be so rewarding. My daughter has been blessed with wonderful teachers since she began preschool and they have been some of the most genuine caring people I've had the opportunity to meet. She's in kindergarten now and I'm so glad she's gotten such a great start in school. She really loves it now b/c of her good experiences.

Anyway, no workout for me YET today. Silly me - it's that TOM for me and I didn't supplement w/extra iron last week, and I've been so tired and dragging this week. I avoided this last time by taking my supplements and I'll have to be more aware next month. It can really railroad me if I don't watch it. I prob. should talk to my dr. Anyway, the plan is Mix It Up after I get home, I'll be thinking of you Angela while I do my late night workout, LOL!

Hey Randi,
Yes, I teach a kindergarten behavior class. I do love my job...the teaching and interacting with the children. There is so much paper work in special education and so many meetings and this Leave No Child Behind Act results in even more paperwork for special education. It is unbelievable! There are many rewarding aspects to my job and I usually keep this in perspecitive. Like today, we took a field trip to the Marble Slab...for ice cream. We car pooled and two of my little ones rode with me. They were so excited they could hardly stand it and they thought it was so cool to ride in my car.

Randi, I usually do a late workout on Friday. I like that I can come home and relax before we go out or go to our small group and exercise later in the evening. I guess I have energy b/c it is the weekend and I know I can lay around on Saturday morning. Friday nights are usually my best night of sleep even with working out so late! I hope to do an Imax workout tonight! Since I have been following Weight Watchers again...strict during the week...eating pretty much what I want on the weekend...I have lost 5 pounds! I really will be happy to lose and keep off 5 more! Woo hoo!
