Hey Lori and Randi and anyone else who wants to join an informal check in. I hope you guys had a great weekend. We are having a little winter weather here in South Carolina. A bit of ice and sleet. Church was cancelled tonight and I anticipate that school will be called off tomorrow. My best friend lives in Michigan and just can't get over what reaction a little winter weather receives here in SC...tee hee!
I have my next week planned as follows:
M: KPC/L&G 82 min. premix
T: PUB/Imax 2 Intervals 1-5 premix
W: SB/SJP Cardio Circuit premix/BC Core only
Th: BC minus core, skipping stretch/L&G ankle weight premix/C&W Heavy weight upper body premix(no stretch)/Go back and do BC stretch
F: SB WU, section 3, & challenge/Imax 2 Intervals 6-10/abs&core from Timesaver/PUB abs
S: SS Three Set Premix - no ab/core work
I wonder what Cathe will think up for Feb. Talk to you later.

Hi Angela and Lori! I'm glad you decided to continue the check-in. I really like it too.

Sorry I didn't check in this weekend. Dh had lots of work people over on Saturday and Sunday was spent catching up on all I didn't get done the day before...Of course I still managed to workout but you know how it is. Saturday I did CTX upper and IMAX 1-5, yesterday I did LL and RS. My legs felt like lead during RS btw, it's a lot to handle after Leaner Legs. Anyway, here's my week, it's my Supersets week and I'm doing Pure Strength:

Mon: Stretching/rest day
Tue: SLA
Wed: CST and IMAX 2 6-10 premix
Thur: SB
Fri: LG and 30 min. intervals - probably IMAX 6-10 or intervals
at gym (if I'm brave enough to fight the crowds, and if the
weather cooperates)
Sat: BBA and SJP premix - 35 min.
Sun: KPC/LG premix - one that clocks in at @ 60 min.

I'm going to try and do leg workouts 3x a week from here on out. I'm getting stronger but I'd really like to tighten things up. As far as my diet goes, I'm tweaking that too...I haven't seen any scale loss since the week before last and it has me a little worried. We'll see. Maybe I'm being too strict? Who knows. My upper body is coming along nicely though, I love following a rotation and actually hitting all my body parts at least once a week since I have a plan!

How's the weather in SC today Angela? Lori, I'm not sure where you are but I hope things are okay. It was snowing pretty hard when I left this morning and we're supposed to have it all week...

Hey guys!
Ice....calling for more ice today and tonight...no school today. There may be no school tomorrow either so I will now be making up missed school days. One will be a Saturday in June...yuck! One will be during "spring break" week. I am already changing my rotation some. I will probably do a double whammy workout today as there is nothing else to do. I need to work on continuing the healthy eating throughout the weekend...let's just say that I did not cheat in moderation this weekend. Have a great day!

Edited to post changed rotation. I decided I really want to stick with PP and SS for the weight work this week:
M: KPC/L&G 82 min. premix
T: PP Upper Body(2 or 3 set premix)/Imax 2 Intervals 1-5
W: SB/SJP Step&Hi/Lo Cardio Circuit Premix/PUB abs
Th: BC everything but core premix/PP or L&G or Timesaver Day 5(This workout sounds really long but will not clock in over 90 min.)
F: SB WU, section 3&challenge/Imax 2 Intervals 6-10 OR KPC premix/SS abs/PUB pikes and roll ins using stability ball
S: SS Three set premix no abs
I am incorporating PUB abs more b/c one of my fitness goals for 2004 is to be able to do pikes on stability ball with good form.

Angela- I like your second rotation better than the first, I love PP and SS!!!! I did my KPC L&G premix today. I also can not do those pikes!!! The ones in L&G, they kill me!!! I usually do some of them, then just hang there thru the rest. I also want to really build my core strength this year.

Randi- I live in MI and we are supposed to get snow all week. I don't mind driving in it, but if I do not have to go anywhere, I do not go. Talk to you tomorrow!!!!

Okay, I lost my post! Here I go again, hopefully I won't get a double post. Anyway, today started out slow snow-wise but it's supposed to hit hard tonight. I hope we make it home before it does.

I did PS SLA this morning as planned, w/o abs. I didn't have time. I'll add core work tomorrow from PUB. Angela, you've inspired me to work up to those pikes on the ball! I also want to be able to do all of my pushups on my toes...

Tomorrow is CST, core and IMAX 6-10.

I guess after resting on Sunday and being iced in yesterday I had stored up energy. Yesterday morning I did KPC/L&G premix(added on ankle weight premix). After lunch I went ahead and did PP Upper body 3 set premix. Of COURSE this is not a normal workout schedule for me but I had fun and it kept me busy. I was so rested and it was so nice to work out at my pace not having to squeaze it in before dinner after a hard day's work. Again, not a typical workout day and I'm not an advocate of over training. I'm reading posts where people are working out for like 2 hours a day with cardio alone. I would eat like there was no tomorrow..which by the way I did eat a lot last night. I don't think it was due to the extra working out b/c I didn't feel hungry....boredom I believe. Today I plan on doing Imax 2 or SB/SJP step & hi/lo cardio circuit premix. Whichever I do today I will do the other tomorrow. I am iced in again today. It should get up to about 38 today so the ice should begin to melt some, but then it will get back down to 23 tonight. I hope we go back to school tomorrow as I'm already thinking of those beautiful spring days when we will be making up these lost school days...boo hoo....Have a great day guys!
P.S. I did pretty well on the pikes yesterday. I completed all 9 sets from KPC BUT I am still afraid to let my butt go up to high b/c I'm afraid my arms are going to give out and I'm goind to fall on my head. Can you imagine going to the hospital with a broken neck and trying to explain how that happened in your own home? Tee hee:eek: :D

P.S. Randi - I would like to do "big girl" push ups alos
Lori - my best friend lives in Grand Rapids...what part of Michigan are you from? She called me on Sunday and said that it was 9 below! Brrr! She totally laughs at how the south shuts down with no more than one inch or so of precipitation!:7

Angela- I live in Wayland which is about 20 miles from GR. We go to Grand Rapids all the time. I worked in GR for years, at Steelcase. I just quit last January.

I did my PP, 3 sets this morning w/ 1-5 intervals from Imax 2. I do not know if I will do the circuits tomorrow or a different cardio. That is awfully hard on my knees. we will see what I feel like.

I can usually do half of the pikes, maybe a third of them. I am working my abs hard trying to improve my strength. Today when Cathe did the Inverted shoulder presses, I did 2, and rewinded and followed Cedie. I did not sleep well last night, and I was tired, and I was afraid I would fall on my nose and hit the ground!!! I did up my weights in a few places though. I was happy!!!!

Randi- Do you like the PS Series??? Everyone loves that one, and S&H. Those are my least favorite workouts. I will do PS very rarely, but when I do, I enjoy it because I haven't done it in so long.

Hi! Angela, I'm sorry you're still stuck inside. Don't worry, I didn't think that you were overtraining! I think we've all had the days where we've had extra time for "marathon" sessions. It's a nice change of pace actually.

Lori, I really, really like the PS series. I had a good time with the leg workout this morning b/c I like the pace in this one - it's not too frenetic and since it's slower I can go heavier w/o feeling like I'm going to hurt my back. I also love S&H, but for upper body more than lower. I haven't done S&H lower in a long time, actually.

I'm having a problem with weight loss, since I seem to be gaining instead of losing, or at least holding steady at a higher weight than I should. I lost a few lbs. between weeks 1 and 2, but have gained two back and it hasn't budged. And I'm nearing the end of week 4. I'm not sure what to think. I know that my eating has been clean, I have a cheat day once a week but I don't go crazy either. I'm getting really discouraged and I'm not sure what to do. I just feel bigger these past few days and it's getting me down. My energy levels are good, I started taking vitamins again yesterday, I drink lots of water...not sure what else to do.

Any suggestions?

Randi - I'm no expert on weight loss by any means. I have refused to weigh myself for a couple of weeks. You may want to post this question as a thread by itself to attract people like a-jock and others who have more knowledge about this. They will probably ask for more information like how tall you are, how much you weigh, how much you want to weigh. I know sometimes if we restrict our calories too much that can cause our bodies to hold on to the fat. Also, maybe you are already at a good weight? I know for me, if I cut out the sweets and follow a sensible eating plan I can drop the pounds fast. I just go through phases where the eating is just not what it should be. One more thought is to keep doing what your doing and see if this is just one of those weeks or two. I know that people who lose often see a plateu before it starts to come off again. I found it way easier to lose 23 pounds then it has been for me to lose the 5 to 10 I want to lose now! So if you're on that final few, just keep at it!

Today I did Imax 2 and the cardio only from All Step. It felt good. I'm actually enjoying being off. I tease my husband and say that I'm going to workout, shower, and put my PJ's back on. We have been bumming around big time...I will have so much work to do when I get back to school! We will probably go back tomorrow. It is starting to melt some today.

I do not own S&H or Pure Strength. I traded for Pure Strength Chest, Shoulers, and Triceps and I would like to get the other two. I don't know that I want to spend the money for the DVD. I will try to trade for the other two tapes again one of these days.

Good Morning ladies.

Angela- Where does your friend work at Steelcase??? In the offices???? I worked in the factory, in Chair Plant. I quit last January because I was making enough at my jewelry business, so I QUIT. I hated it so bad, I hated it. I worked there 18 years, always in the factory. My husband is still there. They just announced more cuts yesterday, but only like 100 this time.

Randi- I have been doing the Discovery Health Body Challenge for three weeks now. I cheated one night, I made a homemade pizza, and I had alot of WW's Moosetracks Ice Cream. I have not lost one lb. I have weighed twice now, and the number stays the same, 144. I am 5'4". I have lost like 2", I think a little more. I am keeping going, I know I will drop eventually. I am kinda looking at this like BFL. Alot of times you do not lose at first, you build more muscle, and then all of a sudden the fat starts melting off. I love the food, and I have eaten clean for almost 3 weeks, 98% of the time. BUT...it does get discouraging I know. We want the number to go down!!!!!

Hello Lori & Randi,
Lori - It sounds like you are doing great on the Discovery Healthy Body Challenge. Good for you! You have a great attitude also which will see you through to your goal, I am sure. Keep up the great work. I am 5'5" and last time I weighed I was back up to 140. I would like to be 130. That is a healthy weight for me. I feel it is attainable and maintainable. Eating healthy is a constant and daily challenge for me.

My friend works in the offices and yes it gets very discouraging with the lay off's. It just seems like you don't know from one day to the next. It's too bad.

Randi - I hope you are doing well. I admire your resolve to workout with a little one. I know that once I have children it will be more of a challenge to find the time to workout.

I go back to school tomorrow. I am way off schedule. Staying up till midnight and today I hit an all time lazy low...I slept in until almost 9! That is unbelievable for me! It is hard to believe that tomorrow I will be on the road by 6:45. It was a nice rest! I don't realize what a tough schedule I keep until I have time off to rest up. I will workout later this afternoon. Have a good one!

Well, I did KPC today, along w/ ME abs. I did do of the KPC pull-ups on the ball, and that was it. Somedays I can do more, and others, forget it. Today was one of those days. So, instead of PUB Abs, I did ME Abs. Those were a killer!!! I did KPC instead of the circuits because of my knees. Well, talk to you tomorrow!!!!!

We had a snow day today! So I was able to sleep in and workout in the afternoon. That was nice. I did PS chest, shoulders and triceps and IMAX intervals 6-10, and the core work from PUB. I have a lot of work to do where those pikes are concerned...

Thanks for the kind words. My weight is up to 141, I'm also 5'4". 130-132 is a very good weight for me and I'm hoping that things will even out on their own. I'm going to write everything I eat down for a few days to see what's going on with my diet. I may need to add some things in, or take some out...I like what you said about BFL, Lori - how sometimes a big change happens all at once. We'll see. I'm feeling better about things today, doesn't help that I'm close that TOM. Anyway!

Tomorrow is Step Blast. After this week I'm thinking of changing the LGI8 rotation a bit. I'll have to play around and then I'll run what I come up with by you guys to see what you think.

Lori, sounds like you're doing wonderfully w/the Discovery Health Challenge. If your measurements are going down, you have nothing to worry about! Way to go!

Talk to you all tomorrow. It's so much harder to find time for the computer at home, LOL!

Hey guys,
This was my THIRD day off. I go back to school tomorrow. Today I did BC everything but core premix(no BC stretch)&PP(minus WU). Whew! That was tough! I don't know if I had worked a full day that I could do that again. For some reason I wanted to put those two together. It was really challenging...I loved it! I will try it again next week but will quit after BC if my body says no way crazy fool! I did grab a little OJ after BC. The workout clocked in at 1 hour 35 minutes and that was with a few extra rests during PP.

I bet I won't be able to lift my knees up during the hi/lo tomorrow as I have to actually get out of bed and work a full day...tee hee! My body is totally off schedule. Good night!

Good morning! You two are very brave women :). That workout sounds killer - I'll have to try that one of these days. I love BC and the BC/ME combo is a lot of fun.

This morning I did Step Blast as planned. Got up a few minutes earlier than usual so I didn't have to rush around getting ready, which was nice. Tomorrow is LG and 30 min. of intervals. I don't think I'm going to try going to the gym but we'll see how brave I decide to be. From what I hear it's still really crowded during peak times, which are of course the only times I'm able to go. If not, then I'll do IMAX2 6-10.

Well, Randi, let me tell you, it was a killer. Especially the BC. I could also tell my muscles were fatigued in the PP because on some excercises it was tough with my normal weights I use. I am glad it is over......

Hey you guys! I went back to school today. I just got home a few moments ago. It is about 8:00 p.m. I am going to do SB/SJP step & hi/lo cardio circuit and I have in PUB abs. I may not get to that as I would like to watch the Apprentice at 9:00. BC/PP is tough when done together but it is a doable tough. I find PP on it's own isn't quite enough. Glad you made it Lori! Randi, that is one of the reasons I quit the gym. I could only go during peak hours and the classes I wanted to get into would get full or I'd be late and squeezing into a tiny corner in the back...too much waiting for the machines, etc...I did like the variety a guym offers though. Have a great night! I'm in a hurry so I won't be checking my spelling...hope there aren't too many typo's...tee hee!:7

Finished - whew! Those blasted pikes in PUB! Some nights I can really push it and feel good about my form and other nights...well....bleh! Tonight was a BLEH!!!!
