More Weights less Cardio? Weight gain? or not?

Hello, Cathe! Sorry if this questions has been asked before, but I wanted to do more weights and less cardio, like step or other cardio.

What kind of weight training will keep me from gaining weight but actually build lean body mass to actually burn the calories with muscle gain as oppposed to having to do so much cardio?

Oh, PS:

Right now I work out 6 days a week: Three days weight (heavy to moderate) and three days variety cardio.

I'm doing Cathe's December '06 rotation, which uses the Gym Styles and the new series (mostly in premix form) and running for cardio. The cardio is about 3x per week. I'm losing weight. IMO, the "X" factor is diet. You can only gain weight if you eat more calories than your body can use for fuel. If you work it right, you can offset gains in lean muscle with fat loss. But in my experience, weight training has been a big help with overall weight (fat) loss.

I am doing really good with my diet. So no problem there. I don't hve gym style workouts, but I am currently recording the Slow and Heavey series from FitTV. So I wanted to start using those in addition to my other workouts, so rotate them with my other workouts.

How long have you being doing weights? And how heavy can you lift now?
 
My first "real" Cathe weight workout was Power Hour, back in September. I distinctly recall using no plates at all on my barbell for much of that workout.

I'm slowly catching up to Cathe and can match her weight for many of her exercises, but certainly not all of them. She's a real inspiration, isn't she? :D

Yes, they sure are an inspiration.

My husband was doing her Upper Body Pyramid DVD and he was sweating like there was no tomorrow!!!

that's a toughie towards end, when she is doing the tricpes and biceps. Cathe and her crew even groan and moan towards the end. But once you are done your muscles feel great!!!
 
Could someone please post a link to the December Rotation, or print it here? I have not been able to find it by searching. I would love a rotation the features the Gymstyles.
