More suggestions about exercizing in a hotel room?

I apoligize for this question, since it has been asked many times before. I am going on a working-vacation in two days, for two weeks in three different hotel rooms in cities (in Ontario). For economy's sake on my part, none the hotel rooms have exercize facilities. I think Cathe's followers are now the world experts in lunges. And dabbling into STS -- I am also convinced we will be the world experts in pushups (the varieties introduced). And I am an experienced brisk walker (2-2 1/2 miles a day).

Ok. I am set on pushups and lunges, and walking. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

I worry a little about running in place. Last year I tried starbursts, but hotel security came up to investiagate (not a good thing to have happen).

David, if you have a laptop, an exercise Dynaband and any of the following DVDs (there are probably more than what I'm about to list) you should be able to cook up a pretty good total body muscle conditioning routine:

Muscle Max
The Gym Styles
High Step Circuit
(all of the above are from the Hard Core series)
Supersets / Push-Pull (???) from the Body Blast Series

Also, for cardio, consider investing in a high-quality jump rope, and check out some jump-rope workouts from Collage Video (www.collagevideo.com), Advanced Workouts (www.advancedworkouts.com) and/or Total Fitness DVDs (www.totalfitnessdvds.com).

Also, don't forget triceps dips with your hands on a chair and your feet resting on another chair or the hotel bed, keeping the legs extended almost fully out but lowering straight down.

Also, if any of your hotels have a pool, this might be a good time to do some aquatic cross-training with swimming, navel-depth high-knee running and/or treading water if it has a deep enough end.

When I travel, if the hotel has a safe stairwell, I use the stairs for cardio, leg presses (take 2 at a time), and calf raises. Make sure the stairwell is a public stairwell and not just an emergency/fire exit meaning you would set off an alarm when entering or returning from the stairwell.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Aquajock and dreamyjeanie,
Thanks for your suggestions. I particularly like the suggestions of a jump rope and using the hotel stairs, and will use both. I do not use a jump rope at home, since I am afraid of lassoing, in my exercise room, either my feet or the ceiling light. But a jump rope is easily portable in a travelling bag.

Assuming you'll have access to a laptop with a DVD player.... The last time I traveled I took KickMax and did the low intensity version in my room. I just made sure I requested a first floor room. ;)

The following day I was going to swim, but I ended working into the wee hours the night before and did some "meditative yoga" (I slept in) instead.

When I travel, I take walks and do a 20-30 minute resistance band routine. I have a really hard time watching my diet when I travel and shockingly, I've been able to not gain weight by just walking and resistance band stuff. I don't know how it's possible because I tend to drink a lot of beer when I'm on vacation.
