More precise measurements in Workout Manager

It would be nice if distance for workouts and weight for 1RM were more precise to at least one decimal point.

Example: I am increasing running distance by 10% each week so a 5.0km run increases to 5.5km.

Example: If my 1 rep max is 10 lb. then I want to go from 6 - 6.5 - 7.0 lb. when increasing through Meso 1 ranges of 60%-65%-70%. I bought pace weights in .5 lb. increments to do this. This is especially useful when you are a real beginner using 3-10lb dumbbells.

Right now I have to track this on another website so I have lost interest in tracking in Workout manager as I don't want to track in two places.

Ironically, you can enter calories to two decimal places... Who cares about .23 calories burned :)

Thanks, if you could put this in I would be more likely to use Workout Manager exclusively.
 
1RM testing

A 1RM test can not determine the weight you should use for an exercise with the degree of accuracy you would like. It would be like trying to measure the width of a single strand of hair with a yard stick.

A 1RM test is just a rough estimate of the weight you should be able to do for any exercise, but it is not an exact number and certainly can't be determined to one or two decimal places. You can make adjustments to this number as you see fit, but to take this number to one or more decimal places would be meaningless. Even in the calorie example you mentioned it is not possible to measure the calories in food or calories burned to two decimal places. Most foods you buy in the store that list calories are off by 10% or more from their true caloric value.
 
You misunderstand what I am asking for. Please read my post again. I was asking for more precision in recording distance and weight. The request has nothing to do with accuracy of 1RM calculations.

I am interested in using workout manager to plan and track weight used and distance run in workouts.

So if I plan to increase a run by 10% each week (recommended by most running programs) I want to go from 5.0km to 5.5km. So I can't use Workout Manager to plan or track these runs.

I can't plan or track weights for STS either. For example when I did a recent STS workout the card printed the same weight for three exercises when Cathe is asking us to increase our weights by 5%.

e.g. I want to be doing
5.5 set 1
6.0 set 2
6.5 set 3

but the card prints
6.0 set 1
6.0 set 2
6.0 set 3

Lots of people have posted on the forums stating that they have also purchased pace weights or micro loading gloves for this purpose.
Cathe also uses micro loading gloves for this purpose. And recommends these for us.

That is why I pointed it out, you allow calories burned to be enter with 2 decimal places of precision in Workout Manager. Makes no sense.

But micro loading for weights is standard practice and is part of the STS program. But you don't allow 1/2 lb increments.

In addition to micro loading gloves and pace weights of .5 lbs....lots of people also use the select tech dumbbells which have increments of 2.5 lb. resulting in weights of 12.5, 15, 17.5 etc..

I think this is especially important for those of us who are using kilograms instead of pounds. The Workout Manager doesn't allow for half kilo increments, yet one pound is half a kilo. Those of us using kilos have a much harder time trying to work out our %1RM figures as a result. I am finding that I have to re-calculate my %1RM figures myself since those provided by the WM are often too inaccurate. Why bother having %1RM figures like 65%, 85% etc when the WM can only calculate whole numbers? STS is an absolutely awesome program but I really think this aspect of the Workout Manager lets it down.
