Have any of you used any kind of "primer" or "wrinkle filler?" I think that the dhc velvet skin is something like that, right? Anyway I was look at laura geller stuff from qvc, but what do any of you use?

I'm 43 and love smashbox and red point primers..really help makeup go on more smoothly, hides more fine lines and helps makeup last longer...

make-up junkie to the rescue!

Yes I use a primer every single day under my make-up. I'm currently using Laura Geller's spackle (the new formula that comes with a pump). I love that stuff. Love it! By the way you can get Laura Geller's make-up at Ulta and Sephora in addition to QVC. I've used Smashbox in the past but I prefer LG's because it leaves a dewy look on my skin. Smashbox's is matte so if that is your preference then go for Smashbox. If you want to spend a little more $$$ try Laura Mercier's primer. This line is also very good.

I've never used DHC's though so I can't help you with that, but I know lots of women love DHC's products including my mother.

Primers help fill out lines and wrinkles, but they do much more than that. I'm only 28 so I don't have tons of wrinkles yet, but I use a primer because it protects my skin. It fills out pores and other imperfections besides wrinkles. If you use skin moisturizers or serums the primer (which comes after the moisturizer and before make-up application) forms a barrier between those and your make-up so your make-up stays true during the day. It does make a difference to use a primer. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the answers :) -- and yes, they helped a lot. My DD and I are doing a "girls day out" tomorrow, complete with a makeover, so I wanted to go armed with questions and answers!
