More Kicking Variety

I haven't done much posting in the forum, though I've enjoyed lurking about for the past month or so. I have a kickbox-related question I hope some of you folks can answer. I love Cathe's kickboxing-flavored workouts, but having practiced Tang Soo Do and Tae Kwon Do in the past, I sometimes get the urge to stretch and flex my legs in ways other than back, side, and roundhouse kicks permit. Can someone recommend kickbox videos that have other kicks, like hook and crescent kicks? I think I read somewhere that Janis Saffell's Hardcore Kickbox Circuit and Powerstrike have these kinds of kicks. Can someone tell me if this is true? Also, what do you think about these workouts?

Thanks,
Tracy

I don't know if it is true, since I have no idea what you are talking about, but I wanted to say that Powerstrike is a great kickbox workout. Milenium 1 and 2 are great. I don't much care for 3, but some here do. If kicking is your gig, get Mil 2.

Hope it helps somewhat..

Thanks for responding. I'll have to check out Mil 2. Does that workout include elbow strikes too?

Tracy

No, I don't think it has elbow strikes. All I can tell you is that it is more traditional kickboxing style than Cathe. That is all I know. That and it is a great workout...:)It has some good block moves that Cathe does not...

Janis Saffel's "Hardcore Kickbox Circuit" and "Kickbox Strike Zone" both contain hook kicks and crescent kicks.

I think there are crescent kicks in one of the Powerstrike workouts, but I can't remember which one (I have the Milleniums, as well as quite a few earler ones, and I think the crescent is in one of the Milleniums).

I can't answer your question specifically, but I can tell you that I really like Janis Saffell's Hardcore Kickboxing Circuit, Debbie Burns (not sure of the name of this one, from CIA), and Powerstrike. All are very good kickboxing IMO.

Thanks for everyone's responses. I think I might have to put Hardcore Kickbox Circuit and Powerstrike, Mil. 2 on my workout wish list.
