Monday Energy Break

Good Day Cathletes! It's after 1pm eastern and instead of reaching for a snack....run to the steps. That's right it's time for an energy break...run up and down the closest flight of steps 6 times, do 10 squat jumps, 20 alternating back lunges, and 10 power scissors. On your mark, get set, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can I just go up the stairwell once since I'm on the 9th floor? I'm game for everything else - except the power scissors in the shoes I'm wearing.

ETA: I did it! Went up to the seventh floor, did the squat jumps and alternating lunges and continued up the last two flights of stairs. I even managed to not detour on the second floor where they are having a bake sale. Thanks for the pick-me-up, I was starting to doze off at my desk ;)

I'm home doing computer work and taking a break at the forums now :) but will do the steps on my next break! Thanks for the suggestion.
 
Doesn't sound like a half bad idea, Cathe! It's always freezing in my office and I forgot my sweater today! :eek: It would definitely keep me warm! ;)
 
Done!! Vlad was giving me "silly hooman" looks every time I hit the top of the stairs and went back down.

Yep,,,have to admit,,,,I ate mine too.

Had a handful of dates from the COOP. ( LOVE ) those things.
Gotta stay energized though, I have KPC planned for tonight and have to do the WHOLE thing.

Wish me luck. Always gets tough toward that third kick & punch seg.

Oh, I wish I had seen this earlier...I ran already and DH & I are headed out the door right now for a bike ride at the trail. But, I will fit it in either Tuesday or Wednesday. I had a plum for my snack! :)
 
Glad you gave it a try. Energy break workouts are designed to do just that...give you energy. A little pep in your step to get you through part 2 of the day. They are quick and invigorating vs long and sweaty and they are great mood lifters too.

Hi Cathe, it's Dave. I thought about doing it but i was afraid I'd spill my chocolate shake and drop my Oreo cookie! Just kidding. STS is scheduled for tonight.

What a great idea! I'd love to have one of these for every day--although this is really good one to repeat every day:)!
