Monday Check-In******

Well, at least time insomnia did not strike until 5:00a.m. I had to get up to exercise anyway. I have Get Ripped to the Core in my hands. Wii guy did come lastnight, and the trade was made, so I am thrilled. He gave us some boring compilation discs with games like ski ball, mini golf, etc. But, he also gave us some other ones too. I would like to get the Sims, and of course, Rock Band 2 when it comes out. There are some relic songs on that set list like "Eye of the Tiger". I can't wait.

I am doing classroom max again today, and DS is going to "school" for the day. I hope he does well after not being there for so long. For the past week, I have been mentioning it to him, so hopefully that will help with the transition rather then just take him with no mention of it and drop him off. He will go 2 days this week, 4 next week, full-time the week after, then part-time when the baby is born.

Enough "talking"...I need to get to working out!
Happy Monday.

p.s.
Can anyone tell me, in detail, how to get those dang smileys IN my post? I think they make posts so much more real.

Jen, Good morning Early Bird! Good job getting a WO in. I had a better sleep last night too. Hope you and DS both have fun at your respective schools today.

To get smileys got to User CP and then Edit Options. At the very bottom you have to "Allow WYSIWYSIG" or something like that. Let me know if that doesn't work for you.

Date night tonight! Another childbirth class so we'll go out to dinner too. Clean. No dessert!!! Normal day today. Errands, etc.

Have a good one!

JenM, our Rter! We need to hear from you!

Oh, wow! It's a whole new posting world:D. Thanks so much, Kate;)! I did my workout (with some modifications). Then, I was about to take a shower when I heard loud thunder, so I thought I'd better not. The storm is over, so I thought I'd spend some time here-then get ready.

Good morning ladies!!! I'm back!!!!!!
I was quickly reading the weekends post and trying to catch up but feel like i have a zillion things to do.

The road trip was GREAT! It was so neat to meet cathe and crew. it was like meeting a celebrity for me. She is so warm and sweet and of course kicks butt. She is also gorgeous and im so jealous of her physique! :)

I have some pics i can try to post but i HATE how i look in pretty much all of them. i just look dorky and its my bad smile. Oh well..at least my wedding day I had nice pics haha. My husbands camera must be breaking. a lot came out fuzzy or dark. ANd his screen started getting static lines at the diner. I was informed it means its about to die since it happened to someone..those things are too darn expensive!

Getting there was no problem. I met my roommate and another friend i had been emailing and we went to Ruby tuestdays for lunch before the meet and greet. Then we all headed over to the gym and ate some more because it was going to be the only meal :) The stretch class was nice and relaxing. I was in the middle and couldnt see Cathe very well

BUT for the REST of the roadtrip i was lucky to get a spot in the FRONT ROW RIGHT BEHIND HER!!!!!! i was so excited. I thought for sure i'd always be stuck in the back. How cool is that? i know, i'm a dork but i know people here will understand. She kicked butt. We did step then bootcamp ( i was group A so 2 in a row) and then i showered instead of doing the presnetation, followed by lunch and something else and then the lower body class.
It was so nice working out live. it was my first roatrip and first class,a s you all know and it was a blast.

Oh, i won a prize ( a 3lb little exercise ball) for being the only expectant mom - did you get one Kate? mine was kinda dusty and dirty tho so i dont know where they got it. everyone else got clean new ones.

Oh yea and for the relay race, my team won again!! That was fun i never win anything. So i got her resistance tubing. Much nicer and heavier than the one i got.

I was also suprised about the nice tote bag we got. We got the green t shirts as well and a few other goodies.

Our table didnt win the crossword or trivia or name drawn out of a bag - those were GREAT prizes, a weighted vest, core boards, body bar etc..oh well im lucky to have won something twice.

our dance party was ok - we had the few seconds of fame with cathe, some ladies performed the Thriller dance which was funny (good job ladies!) and a few other things.

The kickbox class was great! again, front row (we were the first there!) and what a blast. the music was great and cathe kicked butt. Boy can she jump high! She's got springs in her legs when we were doing plyos. Then the crew came up front and worked out and i was kickboxing next to the four of them, cedie was right next to me. She stepped on me at one point lol.

The diner was good too, tons of (greasy) food and the goodbyes.

The only bad thing abotu the trip was we also got stuck at the airport due to storms. It was BEAUTIFUL all weekend until we left the diner! My flight was an hour delyaed which isnt too bad and other people had it much much worse..

I'm so tired because we got up around 5 or 6 am each day and the days were packed. But it was so much fun and so exciting and a great time. I felt energetic and even had an apetite. I just wish my pics turned out better and i wasnt so cheesy looking haha.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and is feeling alright. I know you sounded anxious to hear from me so i posted as many details as i can remember..

stinks to be back at work, back to reality. I have to admit im a little sad its over. The new jersey regulars who attend cathe's gym have no idea what a gem they have righ there! I told my roommate and friend i'd move to jersey just to take her classes :)

Morning!
Jen-glad you got a little more sleep! Have a fun workout and fun at school today.
Kate-another date night..cool! What workout is on tap today?
Yes, JenM..where are you girl!!!
I plan on doing IMAX3 step combos, and push pull. I ate crappy this weekend. I have been doing so well do, but not this weekend!!

Today DD and I will go see the class lists and get her school supplies. Also, we need to figure out what clothes she needs. At the begining of summer I got her a lot of clothes and she has not worn any of it..go figure. I think we'll be fine for the first month of school until it starts to get cooler. I just hope we get a better teacher this year. Sorry, but her teacher last year was an idiot. Very lovely nice older lady, but dumb as dirt. It was her 35th year and last year to teach. When I heard her say "I done told you"....I knew I was in for it!!!! It is appauling that a 2nd grade teacher is allowed to talk that way. DD would come home and say "guess what Mrs Henry said today". We went and spoke with the principal and he assured us 3rd grade would be better and also that he had spoken to dd's teacher about her grammer. He went into the spill about how she was raised in the back woods of Arkansas and let a sheltered life. Sorry but that is NOT my problem. Don't you learn grammer by the time you graduate college???? I hate this place! Ok, Im done. Sorry. DH even gets more upset about it.

Welcome back Jen!!! sounds like you had a blast!! Do you have blonde hair? I have been looking at pics and a cute blonde girlie is the only one that looks preg.

Actually i have brown hair and im very pale lol. i can easily be found because i have a half sleeve style tattoo on my left arm/shoulder area.
I dont know when the site will have more pics up. The one ive seen, i am not in any of them
I'll see if i can share my links with you, but like i said they are not very good pics of me so i'll get self concious - but since i was in the FRONT row during classes right by cathe, i am sure there will be tons of embarassing action shots up soon! But i didnt care :)

Noone could believe i was three months pregnant for some reason. Im not showing yet and i guess im in really good shape becuase i stuck through everything and did great. Nice change for once becuase you know how preggo's feel!

Jen, Thanks for all the details! Sounds like you had a fab time!

Susan, I hope Haley gets a good teacher this year. Gina too! Not sure which WO. Yours sounds great! Playing dolls today?!

Kate-Gina will be in K??? Im sure I will be playing something! DD has never been one to play alone, and now with playing with 3 other kids all day for a week....I"ll be busy Im sure!

Hi Susan
i sent you the link, did it work ok?
Kate, i forgot to mention we didnt go to the Japanese place. We had another catered meal by the same caterers. Was the food and service bad there or something? Or too time consuming? Just curious about the change, becuase im..well, just curious lol.

Good Morning!

I am trying hard to stick to my normal morning exercise program, though it's been hard because I've had quite a lot of nausea this past week. My plan is to continue the volume of my normal exercise program, but just cut intensity to base pace up to slightly breathless. My normal time to get up and exercise is about 4:45am, so this morning was Itread 22 tread/climb.

Question for all the ladies...what kind of ab work can you do since you aren't supposed to lie on your back during pregnancy?

Also, this is my first pregnancy and I'm feeling pretty nauseated every day...please tell me this eventually goes away. I want to enjoy my pregnancy but it's difficult when you feel miserable.

Jen - You and I are up at the same time this morning! ;) I'm sorry about your insomnia - is this set on by the pregnancy?

Kate - I noticed your girl is due on Oct 18th...my birthday is the 23rd!

Jenmgo - loved your recap of your weekend with Cathe. I got a chance to meet her a few years ago when I was in Philly. She is one busy lady!

Back later,
Lori

Hi Lori!
Everyone is different. Some ladies get sick, some are always naseous and some feel great.
For me, i just made it out of the first trimester (my first pregnancy as well). A lot of days i would feel icky and not have an apetite (but made myself eat on most days). I never threw up, thank goodness and hope i never do. I have an apetite now but im tired a lot - my hours are long and i work early plus im tired from the travel/roadtrip

i do abs still - i think its around five months where you dont or whenever YOU feel like you cant. I have heard that when you lie down you will imeediately feel the averse affects and will know you cant do it. plus when you have abelly i imagine it will be really uncomfortable, if not impossible to do sit ups

this is all new to me, but im sure the more experienced ladies on the board will chime in. good luck and hang in there!

JenM..yes it did work!! Thanks, they are great pics. Youre so cute! How tall are you. You towered over Cathe. Did it hurt to get that tatoo??ouch! Looks like you had a great time!
Workout done-imax3 step/push pull.
DD is wanting to do a "cooking show". She is "Carla" and I am her assistant "Pat"..dont know how she comes up with these things. Anyway, Im headed to cook.
bbl

HI susan
aw..have fun cooking! :) or should we call you pat now ?

i am only 5'6 not tall at all. average. cathe and crew are so petite. Cedie is very short, they are all so tiny! i did feel like an amazon

the tattoo hurt a little bit...i forget its there to be honest because im so used to seeing it now. its about five years old

Hi everyone--no insomnia last night, but some ding bat did call my cell phone at 4 something in the morning (unidentified #) and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get back to sleep, but I did:D.

I have just dribs and drabs of school prep to finish, plus I need to finish cleaning and organizing the room where I store all my craft stuff (no I do not have time for crafts--the kids use it mostly) and school stuff and other random things. I'm going to have the older kids help me in shifts.

Today is dh13's 14th birthday. I cannot believe I've been a mom for that long. Time has flown. We got him a couple of small gifts. Going to see Rush with his dad in June was his big one. Birthdays are not a huge deal around here though. We'll fix a nice dinner and have a cake, but that's it.

+++++
Jen--glad things worked out with the wii. Our bible study leaders (surrogate grandparents for our kids) have one. I have not tried it, but our girls especially think it's great fun. Sounds like you have better games than they have.

Kate--have fun at your birthing class. Is this different than the hypno-birthing class? And you are so disciplined about food! That's great.

JenM--I'm glad you are back safely and had a good time. I'll e mail you for the link to see the pics.

Susan--Too bad about your daughter's teacher. I've been reading Flannery O'Connor all summer, an author from the deep south, and I've been picking up bad grammatical habits from the characters in her books.--But honestly for me it's kind of fun. I DO speak with good grammar most of the time and I'm one of those moms who constantly corrects grammer (and pronunciation)--just like my own mother before me. Anyway, I hope this year is better for her.

Lori--morning sickness sucks. That's all I can say. For most of us it passes by the end of the first trimester. Hang in there. As far as abs, the only ab work I'm getting now is when I get out of bed to pee a million times a night:p. Listen to the others on ab work during pregnancy. I tend to give up early on that.
+++++++

Hi everyone else! I'll try and check back later today to see how ya'll are doing.

Maggie:)
39 weeks and feeling like she's going to be late.....

JenM you are very tall compared to my 5'1'' shrimp self.
Maggie-I am the same way always correcting grammer. My mom did it also. Haley even corrects her friends grammer:p
Lori-sorry you are not feeling well. I was lucky to no feel sick when preg with dd.

Susan - I am a shrimp, too, only 5 ft tall. :p

Jenmgo - How did I miss your pictures? Is your job pretty demanding? How do you feel you will handle that once the baby comes? I'm a little nervous about that as my job is fairly high stress.

MSJ - when is your due date?

Hi ladies. Wow, I'm late and have missed A LOT this morning here! I took Oliver to his first day of first grade, and I was more nervous than he was, I think! His teacher is out for awhile with an injury, and so he has an extended sub. She's very nice, but she was very nervous and barely even smiled at the kiddos. I think the kids sensed her nervousness and they all looked poised to throw up at any minute. I sure hope that things lightened up a bit after all of us mommies left. Last year was the best school year I ever could have imagined. Kindergarten was absolutely magical, and we had such an AMAZING teacher. I say "we" because I loved her as much as Oliver did! I just hope that this year is as exciting in its own way. Anyway...

Jen2--Welcome back from the road trip!! Sounds like you had such a great time!!! Glad you're back!

Maggie--Sorry about the insomnia! Happy birthday to your little teenager! What a big birthday!

Lori--The first trimester is so tiring/nauseating. I didn't exercise much at all during that time because I felt SO icky. Not vomiting icky, just icky and SOOOOOOOOO tired. I had to eat lots of breat/carbs because nothing else sounded good AT ALL. Second trimester should be much better. Some people stay sick, but I think most people overcome it the second trimester. By the time week 11 or 12 rolled around, I was feeling like a new person! And I was able to eat more fruits and veggies. Hopefully you'll be feeling better very soon!

Susan--Hope Haley gets a great teacher this year! I know that you'll be relieved to find out! As for being a shrimp. I'm also a shorty. I'm 5'2". And when I'm pregnant, I'm almost completely round!! :D

Kate--Is Gina going to be in kindergarten?? If so, you are going to LOVE this year. Savor every moment!! I think it's just as much an experience for the mommies as it is for the kiddos. I may have to have a fourth child so that I can go to kindergarten lots more times!! :D

Jen1--Have fun in your classroom today! My sister teaches kindergarten, and I remember many years going to help her set up her room. She has SO MUCH STUFF!! How old is your DS? Henry is 3 and starts preschool for the first time tomorrow. He is SO excited. I am excited for him, too. I love this time of year!!!
-------
Well, I better get to work. Oliver will be home soon. Only a half day today. I need to decorate for our "First Day of School Party." Hope I can find the streamers and balloons!! :)
