Moms to be check in May 7th

Heather, I believe my daughter weighed 10 pounds at about 6 months old. She stayed so tiny that she wearing newborn clothes until she was 6 months old. Currently at 2.8 months she is about 23 pounds. But, I am not even 5 feet tall and hubby is barely 5 foot 8.
Morris, how great to be a vet! I only knew I was dilated from the doctor's internals. With dd#1 I felt great and didn't believe him when he said I was dilating and could go early. I didn't know I dropped with dd#1 but it does say in the books with the first you can drop about 1 month before delivery. With your second, they say you drop when you go into labor. My doctor says that measurements are not that accurate. I did measure small with dd#1 until about week 38 when she measured 38. Like I said she was 6 pounds 11 ounces. My guess is the baby will shoot up in the next few weeks but most likely will be on the smaller side, 5 or 6 pounds.

Yes, my father in law is 6'5- the men on my side aren't that tall, my dad is 6'0, but I guess i am tall for a woman 5'7! Probably not much chance for little babies with that combination!!!!lol

I have an English Mastiff and I have to say that he is following me everywhere. Barney usually sleeps on my husbands side of the bed but for the last couple of days he is sleeping on my side. They say dogs have an instinct for labor so I guess we will see. My workouts last week were basically nothing. I did 1 day of treadmill and weights but I am also having on and off contractions(not braxton hicks)Sunday they lasted for over a minute and were coming on for about 25 minutes. All I kept thinking was now I remember how painful labor was.
I am going to the specialist today for my stress test and sono so we will see if the contractions dilated me at all. I hope everyone feels good!!

Mary, What color is your mastiff? Bo was Brindle. I have pics of him everywhere. I know this sounds crazy but we had him cremated and he's here. He was such a huge part of our life:(
When I was preg with Hannah he followed me everywhere and stayed right behind me when I'd walk up the stairs. They like Morris said are extremely soulful. We took a pic of Hannah laying on him when she was 4 days old. It's sooooooo precious!!

I bet you are going in soon. I think about the pain of the contractions all the time and get nervous. I was a 6 when I got to the hospital (my water broke in bed) and I was an 8 in 20 minutes! They got the epidural there in time, thank god, but I sure know the pain!!!!!!!! I think about it and there's just no way to prepare again. I feel your anxiety. Were the Braxton's hurting??

Chichi, you are going to have so much fun watching your boys play sports!! My dad was 6'5, but my mom is 5'3. I'm 5'3 and my middle sister is 5'6 and my oldest sis is 5'9. Isn't that funny. My DH is 5'10.

Shopper, Hannah's like yours, she's so petite. She's 13 months and she can still wear 9 mnth clothing. She was in 0-3 forever! She weighed 7.10 at birth but always stayed dainty. It's great cuz she can get a lot of wear out of her cute clothes
;-) Should be interesting to see what this one weighs! My mom's 2nd weighed 9 pounds. So us lil ones can have them big!!!!!

Morris, my golden and pug just love Hannah, they let her climb all over them and take their bones. Thank goodness they are so well natured. I had my goldie shaved cuz it's hot here in AZ already and I cried when I first saw him cuz he has the most beautiful light colored hair. But now it growing in and he looks cute. hee hee. But I don't think I'll do it again. I think he was depressed for a couple days, like he felt violated.:7

Hi Ladies,

Glad to hear that everyone is doing well! The past few days have been ROUGH. The nausea is really kicking in and, like many of you, eating seems to ease it a bit which is becoming a little bit of a crutch for me now:eek:. I will definitely try the coffee or black tea suggestions as a solution. Any other remedies, please send them my way. I think I will have gained at least 10 pounds by the end of the 1st trimester if I keep going like this.

Lori, did you have your first Dr.'s appointment?

Hi Girls,

What a icky day I had today and last night as well. I took my vitamin at work around 11 b/c I take it before I nap and around 11:30 I was throwing it back upx( That was the first time I had done that since I got preggo. So I was a bit off all day today. I went to workout but I didn't have it in me and I have a really hard time getting supper down! I only ate half of my supper tonight so I had a yogurt instead.

How fast did everyone show this time around? This is my 2nd pregnancy and I think I have a little pop already, like I ate to much supper...and we all know thats not possible from my above paragraph;) And I am finding my work pants a little tight, I haven't gained any weight yet but I feel like it.I am only 6 weeks, I think in another couple of weeks I will have a noticable pop.

Yeah, I had my first Dr's apt last fri and I don't have to go back for another month.Nothing important happened. He just weighed me, sent me for blood work, took my blood pressure...etc...

The weirdest thing is...I don't want any coffee.I think my body wants it but my nose doesn't:+ It sort of turns my stomach when I smell it.

Anyway...I thought I should check in b/c I didn't realize it had been a couple of days!

Lori:)

My mastiff is fawn, he is a love but...if anyone tries to come into my house he is a different dog. We worked really hard with him when he was a puppy trying to get him used to people, but as you know they are stubborn and he is a good boy but has a BIG stubborn streak. I can say that I would never want another breed of dog!!oh and he is turning 7 in January.

Lori, I am sooooo feeling your pain!!!! I haven't actually committed the act, but I was very close when I swallowed my vitamin today. I had ZERO nausea with dd#1, but I guess this time around things will be different.

I also feel like I'm starting to show, especially when I wear casual/comfortable clothes like sweats and a t-shirt. Unlike you, I have been eating a little bit more than normal, so that may also be contributing:p. I am hoping to hold off from letting the folks in my office know until the end of June. Don't know if that is feasible anymore. We'll see...

I tried coffee this morning and it did help a bit. I'm also going to get a few carrot and celery sticks to keep near me for when I need something in my stomache. The junk food that I've been enjoying has got to go!

Oh but the junk food is soooooooooo good isn't it. That's the only time I really don't care is when I'm preggy and enjoy every minute. Not that I eat it a lot though. But I certainly indulge ;-)

Have you gals tried taking your vitamin before bed. That's what I do, it doesn't affect me at all that way. When I was first preg with Hannah I used to get so sick from the prenatal, then when I started taking it right before I hit the pillow it worked out perfect. Just a thought:) :)

i was sucha cookie moster first trimester. in fact, if i even thought about veggies, i felt just terrible. but cookies were wonderful. after first trimester, it got so much better ie eating healthy, although even now, i occasionally cannot stomach a salad. anything to get thru that first trimester. and i definately put on most of my pregnancy weight first trimester. i think i gained at least 10 pounds. now at 33.5 weeks i am hovering at about 21 lbs total weight gain.

on a different note, has anyone had crazy emotional mood swings? i feel like crying at least 2-3 times a day. part of it is missing my dh and wishing him home, i know. but i just thought i'd see if anyone else was feeling rather like a waterwork queen?

Yes, I am looking forward to watching my boys play sports, my family moved a lot when I was growing up so I never really had the opportunity to get involved in team sports, but can't wait to watch my sons! I will be a proud momma! My husband is in the Air Force and they start the pee-wee football at 5 on base so my son has about 1 1/2 yrs- he already loves it!
Morris- same as you- all I wanted was junk the first trimester- bbq, sweets, CARBS...gained about 7-8 lbs first tri- then when I hit my second tri I started doing the Cathe workouts, my hubby got me a stationary bike (probably to quiet down my nagging!}( ) and I started craving a lot of water, fruits and veggies. And in the a.m cold milk! Now as of last check up I was at 17 lbs total at 35 weeks. Got a doc appt on Monday, weight has probably gone up a bit b/c I have been starving the past two weeks! We'll see!
Have a good day everyone!
