Welcome to all the new Mommies-to-Be!!

Wendy congrats on your countdown. It won't be much longer. I never had any problem when it came for labor and delivery, but then again I had some pain medicine put into my IV and when I was 10 cm I got an epidural. The wonders of modern medicine. Needless to say the drugs did wonders. My theory is if they don't cause any harm to the baby or mother then why not use them and not have to endure so much pain.

Let me see, what did I do last week.

Sunday - total body strength training on my own, I did 3 sets of 15-10-10 reps for each body part.
Monday - Step Blast - 2 sections
Tuesday - jog/walk 2 miles
Wednesday - walk 2 miles
Thurday - walk (It was more leisure than exercise since DH wanted to go. He has hip & back problems so it was not really a workout for me.)
Friday - rest
Saturday - rest

Well, everything is going well. I went to the doctor this past Thursday and she said the baby's heartbeat is really strong. Other than that nothing much to report. On April 28th I have my ultrasound scheduled. Hopefully these 4 weeks will fly by. I'm pretty sure they will since this pregnancy is doing just that.

I hope everyone is having a great day.

Hi ladies.

Wendy ~ I did that when I was expecting my son - countdown to maternity leave. I hated that job and knew that I wasn't going back so everyday I got to make another X on the calendar.

Kristi ~ I'm so glad to hear that you are doing better and everything is great with the baby. I feel the same way that you do about this pregnancy flying by.

Here are my workouts for the week:

Sunday: Push Pull
Monday: Low Max (minus the blasts)
Tuesday: walked 3.5 miles and did Pyramid Upper Body (minus the abs)
Wednesday: walked 3.5 miles and did segment #3 from Stretch Max
Thursday: walked 3.5 miles
Friday: walked 3.5 miles
Saturday: no workout but I cleaned the basement. I moved 8 totes of baby clothes from the basement to the upstairs. Then I took 2 headboards and a bed frame out of the spare bedroom and took that down the basement. I worked on that for about 2 hours - it kicked my butt! LOL
Sunday: rest

Hi all,

I had a pretty good week. I slept a little better so I had a little more energy. For workouts, I went for walks (1 on Monday, 1 on Wednesday and 1 on Saturday).

We finished our childbirth classes on Sunday! Now I just need to find some time to practice everything we learned.

Since I am using my sick leave as maternity leave, I am not planning on taking off any earlier than May 1st unless I go into labor before then. My mom already bought a plan ticket and will arrive on May 1st so I hope the baby waits until she gets here.

I can't believe I only have a month left. Pregnancy really does fly by.

Y'all are awesome! I hope I am as active when I am further along. In the meantime I'm dragging out of bed early and schlepping to the gym as often as I can.

Sunday: Spinning class
Monday: No time!
Tuesday: Spinning class
Wednesday: Strength training class
Thursday: Spinning class
Friday: Thought of doing Low Max, but decided on a rest day instead.
Saturday: Step class and strength training class

Well it's my first week back on exercise so I took it easy, but still happy with how much I got done.

Monday: The Firm 45 min (soo BORING)

Thurdsay: GSL premix 30 min no weights

Friday: Low Max premix 1 45 min

Saturday: Low Max premix 2 44 min

This week seeing as how last week went well, I'm allowing myself to do weights but a tad lower than usual for lower body. As long as I feel ok I intend to keep weight lifting part of my workouts, I think my nurse was being a little to cautious, but I'll stop if I feel strained at all. Glad to see everyone is doing well! :)

ETA: btw LOVE LOVE LOVE Low Max!!! - so fun!

Wendy,

We really liked our class. My husband is not into reading so it was a great way for him to learn all about the stages of labor and things that I learned from all my books. We went over a bunch of relaxation and breathing techniques. All my friendd tell me that these don't really work but I was glad to learn them and will try them out during labor. We also went over things like induction and c-section. This was helpful and made me feel a little more at easy with not having a "text book" labor and delivery. Towards the end we went over breastfeeding and infant care. Also as part of the class we got to take a tour of the labor and delivery wing in the hospital. I loved that part. Now at least i am familiar with how things are laid out and how things work.

Hello -

Is this check-in open for new members? I am more of a lurker here than a poster - still read everything, though, and really LOVE Cathe workouts. I just found out I'm pg (with #3!!!! Can you believe it?!) I used to check-in at another site, but they aren't as focused on fitness and I'm just not getting the motivation that I need, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, I'm 36 (gulp) and we absolutely love our two girls (3 and 15 mos) I met DH later in life, so we're playing 'catch-up' in the baby department. I always wanted a big family, but it took us 3 years to get pg w/ #1, so we may be out of time .;-) I used to be a regular at the gym - loved classes, plus free weights and cardio equipment. After #1, I had to get into a home workout plan or it wasn't going to happen. I had some problems with #1, but worked out as best I could (we walked 5 miles cross country the day before she was born) I did better with #2 and certified to teach aerobics when I was almost 5 months pg.

With this one, I'm not in the best shape of my life, but not the worst, either. I need consistency, which is a problem with two small children, working, plus home renovations and outside activities. I only have 3 Cathe tapes right now, but am in the process of picking up more as I can. I just got an unexpected bonus at work, and DH agreed that I should have some of it to spend on something fun: jewelry? clothes? day spa trip? Nope! I'm going for one of the Cathe DVD bundles! (Not that I wouldn't love something sparkly, mind you - I just have priorities!)

So - here's to a good week. Do you post at the beginning of the week with expected workouts, or at the end of the week with actuals? Or anything in between?

Thanks - looking forward to some company in the pregnancy fitness quest!!

KC

(Can't get my ticker to work, but I'm about 5 weeks right now)

Hi there GraceNote! Welcome! This check in is for us preggies :) and is certainly open to new members all of the time!!!

The check ins are dated for every Sunday and include the work outs and what ever else you'd like to share that occurred in that past week from Sun thru Sat usually.

Well, I'd go on but I have to get ready for work!

Congrats on your pregnancy!!!! :)

Welcome and Congratulations GraceNote! The more the merrier. We are always glad to have new mommies join us.

I had my first ob appointment yesterday. He confirmed that my tubes and ovaries are good and my uterus is "puffy". He thought I was between 5 and 6 weeks along. Don't know how they can tell all that stuff just from a pelvic exam. My next appointment is May 3rd. He will do an ultrasound then.

I took last week off of working out. I had just finished the Muscle Endurance rotation for the Hardcore series (I followed it religiously). I did Musclemax monday and was soooooooooo sore....I didn't think just a week off would make that much of a difference.

I also was given a new due date of December 3rd so I'm going to have to change my ticker!!

Hi Gracenote! Welcome to the clan!

Well DH and I did just the opposite of you LOL. We got married at 18 &19, had our son 3 years later, and now at 6 years married were onto number two! We planned to conceive around 30, LOL the Lord had much different plans for us! SO here we are 25 and gonna have 2 kiddos! Trust me there are ups and downs on both sides, earlier on and later on, but just getting the family is what's important :) ! My aunt and uncle ttc for 11 years and finally in their 40's decided to adopt! So I think what every works for you is the right way to go!

Have fun buying those Cathe DVD's!:7

Welcome Gracenote! Sounds like you and I are both messing up our families' holiday routines!! I'm due November 29.

GraceNote,

I will be 33 years old by the time I deliver baby #1 so I'm right there with ya!:)
