Moms 2 B Check In for 4/16/05

Hi all,

My week was pretty busy. I'm really busy at work trying to get everything to a good stopping point. I basically did long walks for workouts. It's been really nice out lately so I like doing things outside as much as I can.

I had my shower on Saturday. It was fun and I got a lot of cute clothing and blankets and things along those lines. This was a very small party. Just some friends from work. We plan on having a big party after the baby is born.

That's all for now. Hope everyone has a good week. This friday at my doctor's appointment I will start having internal exams! I am strangely looking forward to this! I am excited to see if things are progressing.

That's very cool....a party AFTER the baby is born. I love that idea!
Have a great time! :+

I feel the same way, Imani. My internals start with my next appt which is next week and I too am looking forward to it...as strange it might seem....but I'll bet it's pretty normal...atleast for first time moms!:)

Imani and Wendy,

That is an exciting milestone to reach in your pregnancy! Just thought I'd share my experience with those internals - they hurt!! I quickly grew to hate them. I don't know if this is a universal experience or not? When you're pregnant, your cervix moves up very high, and in order to reach it, the doctor has to really push in far with his/her fingers. My uterus was also tilted, I was told, so it was very hard to reach my cervix. I hope your internals don't hurt as much as mine did! I just wanted to warn you that these might be a bit uncomfortable. And hey, if they're not, be sure to let me know, so I can hope to have a better experience this time around :)

Always happy to spread a little "joy",
Sandra

Hey Sandra...sorry to hear about the hurting.:-( I will let you know what happens after I have my first one....So now I'm gonna be nervous about my upcoming exam but yet still not freaked out about L&D! Am I wierd or what!? :p lol

Sandra,

Thanks for the warning. I'll be sure to report back after Friday and let you know how mine went.

PS: I'm due exactly 2 weeks from today!! How exciting!

Here's my check in:

Monday: first part of Karen Voigt Yoga Sculpt
Tuesday: 1 hour at the gym
Wednesday: LowMax, all sections (LOVE! this workout)
Thursday: lots of gardening and an evening walk
Friday: nothing
Saturday: ran 4 miles/very hilly!
Sunday: nothing- lots of shopping and gardening though

i didn't do nearly enough strength training! I really don't do much arm stuff, but I really benefit from lower body work. Perhaps I should invest in a new Cathe DVD!

Hi ladies. It's going to take me a long time to get to know this healthy group of gals. There's so many of you!! I'll have to make a little cheat sheet or something.

Kristan, I"m glad there's another runner over here. ;)

You guys are all doing so well! I'm feeling sooooooooo tired & a little nausea/heartburn too. I'm picking naps over working out several times weekly at this point. I know things will pick up once I move closer to 2nd trimester.

Sun: KickMax (no standing leg work/chair thingie HATE THAT PART)
Mon: off
Tue: Run/walk 5+ miles
Wed: run 4mi
Thurs: nap
Fri: nap
Sat: nap

I feel like I"m already swelling a bit. I've gained a couple of pounds, probably b/c my heartburn only goes away with eating. I'm also nursing Justin a little still at night time. I'm hoping to wrap this up within the next month or so. :) Anyone else out there still nursing?

Hi there Melanie!

We all know the rigors of the first trimester and I guess you are quite familiar with them yourself! Don't feel bad for napping! We all did it! :)
