mommies with babies

trish, if you like b&g you will llllooooove sts legs. yowza!:D
those are still great rates. ours is 5.75 from a few yrs ago. we're thinking of adding on to our house and hoping to refi the whole thing at a lower rate.
im w/ you on the wo - i wouldmuch rather finish that than have sex!:p
thats funny about the ice cream!

Kate - So are you back to work on a regular basis now? What happen to SAHM? I hope it gets less stressful for you.

Trish - Clean eating for me is when I can keep my meals low fat, low sugar, and carbs in moderation. It's really hard for me to keep things low sugar after lunch. I'm a snacker and love my sweets. For example, a "clean" breakfast for me would be plain oatmeal with banana and a boiled egg. Pretty clean would be a slice of multi-grain toast with no sugar added jam/jelly instead of the egg. Throughout the day if I eat clean, I'll do the whole grains for my carbs, lots of veggies, fruits, and lean meats like chicken breast or turkey. I'll allow myself a cheat day though if I eat like this all the time. Sadly, everyday has been a cheat day for me lately.

Becky - Good luck with the house hunting and congrats on graduation!!

Okay, I'm off to workout now since baby is sleeping and my back is feeling MUCH better. I'll probably do original Bootcamp. Have a good one ladies!!

Lisa

lisa, still sahm. i do only payroll but im making some big changes thats requiring me to do some stuff during business hours rthis wk and next. i am not pleased!:eek::eek:
glad your back is doing good!
bc!! i hate that wo! :p

idid sts legs (6) last night. 1 word - pain!!!!!!!

HI ladies--

I did STS legs disk 3 (again--6 month plan) yesterday and I just did an hour of hill walking on the tm. My knees feel tweaky, so no running, but I burned more calories than last week, so go figure....

STS is making me hungry, but I am loving it.

Gwen had her 6 month check up today--She weighs almost 20 lbs, but has slowed the rate somewhat since she's scooting all around.

Trish--I have not seen Fireproof yet. I keep meaning to put it on the Netflix queue. Thanks for the reminder. Our family enjoyed "Facing the Giants" also--put out by the same company.

Lisa--frozen yogurt sounds good! I hope your back allows you to workout soon.

Becky--good luck on the house--keep us posted:)

Kate--sex drive when pregnant, thru the roof:eek::D:D; whilst nursing?:confused::( but I can't let poor dh be deprived, so....

maggie, go gwen, go!!! i love chubby babies! gina was so rolly shed get yeast infections in her neck's fat rolls! she was a true sumo baby! isabel was a chunk too. julias chubby but its all porportioned nice.:D
good job on the wo's! sts legs are killers! i love knowing theres only 15 reps of each thing. makes it seem more doable.
you're a good wife.....i let mike be deprived. i give in once in a while......but prob not as often as hed like:(

LOL Kate. I am trying to picture a sumo baby!

Today was good. I did 55 mins on my elliptical. 38 of those minutes were on level 10 (it's highest resistance) I bet I feel the burn tomorrow. : )

Eating was decent as well.

Today I did Julian Michael's Banish Fat Boost Metabolism. She makes me sweat. Her ab work is mixed into the workout and she has these walking planks that I thought would kill me! Then I took Zoey for a walk/jog. I did a total of 2.4 miles. Each 0.3 mile lap was alternated between jogging and walking with my 10 lb weighted vest.

Lisa, so glad your back is feeling better.

Maggie, speaking of netflix, have you checked their fitness selections recently? I did last night and they now have Amy Bento!

Kate, I think the whole refinance thing is going to be easier/better with Obama's recent plan. i haven't heard everything he unrolled today, but from what CNN was saying, it is good for those who aren't upside down on their mortgages.

Oh and I had a question...when will Zoey be able to ride in an umbrella stroller? We're going up to Ohio in a month to look at homes and I was wondering if we'd still have to cart the huge Chicco stroller.

Becky

trish, great job!

becky, how good is zs head control? do you have a nice front pack/wrap/sling you can use?
great wo!

i did 4ds kb last night.
sts5 back/tris tonight

my bfast was soooo good. kashi honey sunshine, apple slices, pb.... i could GORGE myself on this but i kept portions in check!:D

Today was LIC and then I tacked on a quick 20 minute thing from FitTV. But LIC was the real workout.

Kate, Zoey's head is definitely getting stronger and I do have a sling but it cramps her up so much and she seems to get hot. (infantino one...maybe that is why). I'll have to get one of those front carriers...someone sent us $50 after we sent out announcements, so maybe I'll use that to get one.
Oh, and how is the Kashi Honey Sunshine? I saw it the last time I went to the grocery store. I usually get the red boxed Kashi Go lean with the 13 grams of protein per serving.

Trish, way to go on that level 10 resistance for that long! Wow. I would totally feel that...in the moment and for the next week!

Hope everyone has a great weekend. It will be a weekend at home for us...and I am so looking forward to it. I started Zoey's 1st scrapbook yesterday (it will basically be her 1st week of life...I have that many pictures!) and hope to work on it some more this weekend. I only got 3 pages done yesterday....everything takes longer with a LO! Oh, and I plan to finish my 1RM this weekend. Ouch!

Becky

becky, i have a baby bjorn front pack that i use atthe grocery store. also have a wrap but its a little cumbersome to wrap her up at the store with it. both are easier w/ her being bigger/4 months.
great wo! i love lic!
honey sunshine.....very little protein but it is good. like a less-sugary capn crunch. not sure if i'll buy it again. it is low-cal/high-fiber, but i seem espescially hungry this week and i think its from less protein at bfast. that help?
oh, scrapbooking!!! im 2 yrs behind! i got 2 months done today! i was going to get all caught up by the end of my pg! yeah, THAT happened!:p
good luck w/ 1rms this weekend!

my older ds came home sick from school. over exhaustion i think. been up since 4am.
any road trippers this year...kate?
planning on doing me tonight.
bbl

Lisa

so for my second of apparently twice monthly postings lol...

i definitely still feel postpartum now five months out. besides the carpal tunnel, my back and core are weak and i feel like my hips are still loose, also.

kate you asked a while back about my kiddos - i have 2 boys, 15 years apart! a 15yo and a 5mo. no chiro yet. insurance situation not the best. however, symptoms have started to dissipate and i hoping if i re-introduce some light resistance i'll get back to normal soon. fingers crossed. haha, if it doesn't hurt too much =)

im starting to put very light ub weight work back in my rotation and will see how i feel at the end of this week. worokout today was high step circuit. this is one i outgrew before but is just my speed right now! it totally flew by and i was able to modify the cardio to keep my heart rate up and modify the resistance work for my hands and wrists. no band, just light weights. followed by erin o'brien postnatal rescue ive been doing, first two progressions.

sorry to be the random one butting in every so often, hope its okay!

wendy

lisa, hows ds today? i think we're all ready for a relaxing spring break!
no rt for me. wah!! w/ julia nursing it would be too hard to be enjoyable. next yr for sure! it was so much fun last yr!

wendy, sorry you're body isnt cooperating! frustrating!

we went to the rodeo today at msu. lots of fun!

wo last nite was versaclimber for 2o minutes *pant, sputter, wheeze, gasp*. sts5 tonight.

Hi ladies.

Today I did 60 minutes on the elliptical. I'm supposed to fit Stretchmax seg 3 in sometime...love that one with the band so hopefully will get around to it. I'm down 1 more pound!!! Yippee! I seem to be averaging 2 per week which is good...but I thought I'd lose more quickly with all the workouts I am doing, healthy eating with small portion sizes and breastfeeding. But, I think I'm building muscle back so that must be balancing out the weight loss. As long as I'm losing fat, I am okay with gaining muscle!

Will try to fit in 1RM today.

Kate, have fun with STS. I start the week after next!

Wendy, sorry about the loose joints. Were they painful during pregnancy or just after? I found that I was holding Zoey at an odd angle and that caused wrist pain...changed the way I hold her and its better.

Lisa, how was ME? I miss whole body endurance workouts. I am doing a circuits rotation right now and start STS in March...maybe I'll change up next week and take out one circuit and insert ME or MM instead.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Becky

becky, great wo! i really want to like the ellip but it bores me. i use it for a mindless wo when i feel uncoordinated. sm is nice for a quickie stretch.
ive gotten wrist pain w/ all 3 girls. feels like what c'tunnel does. a trip to the chiro takes care of it for me.
i bet you look fantastic! my sil wore her maternity clothes FOR 2 YEARS after her 1st.:( after her 2nd she went on some zero, and i mean zero, carb diet. she got thin but its skinny fat and having no carbs.....lets say shes not stable!

Hi ladies--Good news and bad news, for me, that is. Good news, I'm down another pound, bad news: I took my "before" pics and they are demoralizing. I printed them out to put in my STS notebook. If they don't inspire me to "excel still more", I don't know what will. If and when I ever have good "after" pics, I will post both:p:eek::p.

Yesterday was STS disk 2 again and today I did Amy Bento's ASC2, which is so fun. Tomorrow is a rest day and then for the next two weeks I'll do STS disks 4-6 twice each. I need dh to get me 35 lb dumbells for the last stretch of meso one. I even need a 40 lb one for plie squats, but I think I'll use a barbell instead. The 35's will be expensive enough for now and hard to find used, I imagine.

Kate--LOL on the sumo baby--that's Gwen exactly--we call her the "radish spirit", which you would only understand if you saw "Spirited Away". That kashi cereal sounds good. I'll have to look for it.

Trish--I've had no luck talking dh into an elliptical:mad:. I think it would be nice on my joints, but he might go for a new stationary bike.

Becky--I haven't looked at Netflix's workout dvds in ages. That's a good idea. Money is tight and it would be nice to try before I buy right now.

Lisa--I so badly want to go on a road trip. Cathe is the only "celebrity" I've ever wanted to meet. It would also be so fun to meet people from the forums face to face, but it will never happen--financially or logistically. I hope your son feel better soon.

Wendy--pop in any time! I hope your wrists feel better soon. As I age, I deal with more and more modifications due to joint issues:(.

Hi everyone else!
Maggie:)

hi ladies!

becky, yup, my joint issues started in the third trimester. was doing the whole sun series on the wall at that point because the pressure on the wrists was unbearable. my hips were really loose too and it felt awful so cardio became imposssible except for slow walking. hence my current battle...

i really do hope to get to a chiro at some point.

todays activity: a 50 minute walk in the morning (it was actually 43 today before the rain and snow started!). workout was body fusion and postnatal rescue 1 + 2.

fyi, i got that one on netflix. they really do have a good collection on workouts!

hi to everyone else and thanks for letting me pop in and not feel bad about being here infrequently.

wendy
