Terri, my DB is a dentist and he said no cardio! You're just going to aggrivate it and it will be throbbing!!!! So don't do it!!

Wow Becky. I wish some of your enthusiasm for baking and stuff rubs off on me.

Thanks Wendy. I had WW spaghetti w/ chicken breast. That mall is 1&1/2 hours from me too so I guess that would be the middle! YAY!

Alright. Here's the scoop on Iraq. The next tour isn't until next Feb., Mar, or April. But once he has his name in, he could go anytime as some people come back early etc. It won't be like a next day thing or anything. We'll have some notice. So......he's going to put his name in. It's just too good of an opportunity to pass up.

Well I'm off to get the boys. Be back later.

Lay down and read your book Terri. I need to get a good one by Saturday. Any ideas?

Thanks Kali For checking with DB. I have two recomendations on books. The Kite runner or The Time travelers wife. I also looked up the one Becky is reading and it sounds great as well.

Yes the book I'm reading is very good and I read The Kiterunner, which I thought was excellent. I need to get The Time Travelers Wife next!!! So many good books, so little time!!!! ha!

Six pans of corn bread - DONE.
Enough cole slaw for 100- DONE.
I'm also baking a spice cake but might wait and do it in the morning so it will be very FRESH! Of course, I still have dd's bday cake to bake too, but oh well.

Her bday dinner menu is:
country fried steak w/gravy
mashed potatoes
green beans
homemade applesauce
corn bread (well...it's coming out of my ears!!!)
bday cake and ice cream.

Not healthy, but what she asked for!!:p
 
Hey ladies,

Haven't read all the post yet, but hope all of you have had a good day!:) I got off work and went to PT and didn't get out till 4:30. They had me walk on the treadmill to get used to walking heel to toe. You would not believe how slow they had me going! I was going 0.5 miles per hour. A snail goes faster than that. My PT walked by and said "do you think you're going slow enough?" I chuckled cause I knew he was kidding. But it was rather enbarrassing going that slow. I did talk to the PT asst. and she said it would probably take a year for the tendon to heal. And to get to jumping in the air with cathe will be around the first of the year. But hey, I know one day things will improve. And I know I can walk on the treadmill, and ride my bike. Also I can do calve raises sitting down. I can't do them putting my body weight on it. Well enough about me, how has everyone been doing?


I have to do SH chest and back tonight, along with my bike.

Hey Kim and everybody... Kim - slowly but surely you'll get there. Just stay optimistic and upbeat, you have your bike for cardio and you can start building that up again. You'll get there!!!


Well it is 5:10 and I just finished with RS. Not my favorite w/o I guess because this is only the second time I've done it but I didn't do too badly and I got a good calorie burn, 433 calories, for 1 hour. Not bad for steady state cardio.

I got a late start because I had some drama here this afternoon... LOOONNNNGGG story short, my MIL and my DIL don't get along very well probably because DS and DIL lived with MIL and DH's stepfather for the time it took to finish their house. Anyway my husband is MIL's only child and my two kids are her only grandchildren and she is MAWMAW with a capital M. She is a nurturing, feed you til you drop type of mother. She is actually pretty great even though she can be intrusive at times but she means well, never anything malicious on her part, she doesn't know the meaning of the word.

Anyway, this morning my DIL called me and asked if it would be okay with me if all of us had Thanksgiving DS's and her house this year. I ask her what MIL thought of this and she said it was okay with her if it was okay with us. Well, I just said, who is going to cook and DIL said MIL was still going to cook but not at her house, she was going to do it at her own house and transport the food. I thought this sounded funny and DIL and DS do not have the room to accommodate all of us anyway... so I was puzzled but said it was fine with me if it was okay with MIL. Well I called my MIL when I got off work and she was a wreck!!! She was so upset. Apparently she was not given a choice by DIL about it, DIL told her she could cook there at DIL's house but MIL is 71 years old and set in her ways and wants her own oven, her own kitchen she has prepared Thanksgiving dinners in for years. So DIL told her she could just cook it at her own house, then load it up and bring it down there. I called my son and asked what in the sam hill was going on. Well, he wanted to have it at his mawmaw's too but when she didn't put up a fuss about it (MIL is afraid of making waves due to the tension between her and DIL anyway)he thought she was really okay with it. Well I told him I didn't think this was fair at all. So he is going to talk to his wife, I told him to blame it on me, but he said he wouldn't, he'd take care of it. I'll probably get a phone call tomorrow;( She's at work right now.

I told you this was an awful long story and longer still but I don't have the time nor do you have the time to read about it. So, Thanksgiving is back at my MIL's, she's happy, son is happy (until he talks to his wife), and hopefully this is the end of it.

I've got to do abs now, feed the horse, and then get something for myself. I hope I feel better tomorrow. This situation this afternoon sure didn't help.

That rotation looks awesome! Cathe has put out one I can do! I can substitute the cardio with bike and treadmill. Hey who is doing this? I want to join you. I am doing a rotation right now and will do it until you ladies start this one. I will continue the other one after this. I know it will be another one next month I can't do!

Hey wendy do you have pure strengh? That can be substituted for GS.

hmmmmmm when? Lets see...........There is 3 more days of the Butts & Guts rotation, so I guess I'll finish that........unless, Hey Jane and Kali, are you finishing Butts & Guts or starting the Oct. rotation Oct.1st?? I'm guessing you'll want to finish B&G first, but I'll go along with whatever.

Kim, it'll be fun to have you on the rotation! Wendy , you too!!! The more the merrier!!!

Jane, sorry about your day! Mine was kinda like that too. Plus now I'm dragging......................omg am so tired and blaaaaaaaaaah feeling. RS wasn't my fav. at the beginning either, believe me! I had to learn it and it grew on me and now I love it, so don't give up on it!!! ;-)
 
Hey Ladies-I looked at the october rotaion and I like it! I will change it some as I love to do cardio everyday but for the most part I can do the upperbody etc right along with you. Adding in my cardio when she has no days of cardio.

Hey wendy,

Do you have pyramid upper body or Bodymax? Bodymax has upper body at the end. Ummmmm,do you have ctx upper body? Probably any of these would work. Some of the others can give you some more ideas. I will keep thinking.

Hey everybody.... Yes I am definitely on for the October rotation, did you notice it was exactly what I asked her for???? Of course, she could have been planning it all along but it feels good that she maybe considered what I asked!!

Becky, I am finishing this rotation and starting the new one on Monday, remember we didn't start the September rotation until Sept 5th. This way we can keep the days insync with the rotation.

Wendy - I asked Cathe about what to sub for S&H and gave her a list of the weight w/o's I have, so maybe she'll give us an answer. I have the Gym Styles though. I see Terri is looking at it too, so I'm sure she'll come up with something.

Kim- definitely join us. I am going to have to add some runs or sub some cardio with some runs the first two week because of a 5K I have coming up on the 15th. I have really got to get some running in so I won't fall on my face at the race!!

Hopefully there won't be much fallout from the DIL/MIL incident. DIL still isn't home from work yet so... we'll see.

Where's Kali? and Charlotte?
 
Here I am! Just finished the core maxes (1 and 2) about 1 hour ago. Did alot of shoulder work using 10# (3 sets of 15). And Chest and Back so I have been busy working out and trying to find out about my DD lovelife. So to sum it up, I have been busy being nosey and working out. Now I am emotionally and physically drained. Now I will watch Survivor. Tomorrow? I guess I will work out lower body. Have no idea what workouts????

Yes, Kim...I have all of the work outs you mentioned! I just don't have much in the way of strength although I DO have MIS so I could use that and just do the upper body exercises and I think pyramids is strength also, no?

Terri-any further suggestions are appreciated! I will need to figure out ahead of time what my subs are so that I don't mess this up! lol

So what's the start date? I say Monday October 3rd since Cathe starts her rotations on a monday...unless that doesn't matter to you all then Oct 1 is good too. What do you think?

Wendy-I would suggets doing MIS upper twice. Bodymax upper twice. PUB once should do it as that is a long one. Focus on the groups Cathe has listed for the day. Use premixes and go heavy. Also do you have supersets or push pull? Thye have great upperbody premixes! In fact just tell me what workouts you have and I can go from there.

Let's see...I have Body Max, MIS, Pyramids, Push Pull, Super Sets and Muscle Endurance. I also have other circuit w/o's but the upper body work may not be thorough enough-C&W, SJP, etc.

This is going to be a fun month with so many doing it together!

Wendy-I for sure will be adding in more cardio! From what I am seeing I think you may use several premix's but you for sure have enough upperbody to work with. It may take doing several dvd's. Like whatever body parts the day calls for use several of the dvd's doing just those parts. I need to look at her rotation again and maybe I can devise a more thouroh plan for you using what you have. I for sure think body max and the upper from mis and pub and super sets and push pull give you lots of variety to get in enough upper body workouts. It will be a pain to change the dvd's sometimes but somedays you wouldnt need to. Just do the parts called for twice. Push pull and supersets I know will play them up to 3 times on the pre-mix. I will be able to think more clearly after saturday. I will also keep working on it until then.
