Hi, Cathe!
I just previewed my Shock Cardio DVD's yesterday (a marathon viewing session, with my cat Pete sleeping the day away on my lap during most of it! I couldn't determine which of us was being lazier, LOL!) and am making plans to actually do them now, but I have a couple of questions/modification requests.
1) I'm currently doing a rotation with the weight workouts from 4DS (some of my favorite weight workouts of yours), and was wondering how to use Hiit workouts with them.
Could I do them the same day, with the Hiit following the weight segment (I want to prioritize strength and muscle building, and according to research, cardio should follow weight work for that purpose)?
Or would doubling up on these be too much (for a non-uber-high-intensity gal like me). Would it be best to do Hiit (actually, my modified version of them, using a rebounder and/or lowering the impact of some moves) on their own on non-weight days (1-2 a week)?
2) I like the looks of the step workouts: some fun moves and nice sequencing (I think I'll get most of it after my preview, as I'm pretty good about watching and following along 'as-if' I'm actually doing the workout, and noting places where I'm not getting it).
I do, however, see one move that I absolutely hate, LOL! : the "step-sweep" (I'm sure dancier, less-klutzy folks love it. However, I know my own level of klutziness and what might make me--literally--trip up, and this is one of those moves. I also don't like walking forward off the step).
Any suggestion for a substitution (that doesn't involve pivots or turns? Don't like those, either) that would put me in the right position when I'm done?
Also, in the same sequence, there's an off-the step move that has a full turn and a pivot in. Any suggestions for that? (I automatically do mambos for pivots, so I've got that part of it covered.
(If anyone who is "not Cathe, but" has suggestions for these two moves, I'd love to hear those as well.)
TIA!
