hi cathe
so sorry to hear you are injured. i do hope this finds you recuperating.
i have a question for you. i've always have had trouble with dead lifts. these seem to just irritate my lower back. is there another move i can do that would be just as effective?
thanks for your answer.

Hi Carol! Deadlifts target the hamstrings and lower back.

You can target your lower back muscles by doing plank positions and superman exercises (either on hands and knees with opposite hand and leg lifting, or on belly with opposite hane and arm lifting, or flat on belly with both legs and arms lifting, or just upper body lifting.

You can work your hamstrings by doing floorwork for this muscle group with the stabilty ball.

Once you have developed more strength in these areas through these exercises, you may find that doing deadlifts no longer bother your lower back.

Good Luck!

Cathe demonstrates the Superman moves in GS back, and S&H Back and Chest, and she demonstrates the hamstring moves with stability ball in PLB and GS Legs. Just in case you didn't know and want to know where to find them. HTH.

Carol. I started cathe and lifting weights in January I did pyramid lower body two days ago it is the first time in 4 months that my lower back did not ache so just give it time. My hamstrings are another story they are still aching.
