MM Abs

Hi EC!

For those who have done MM abs, do you find that the hips lifts and reverse curls feel exactly the same? Am I doing something wrong? I feel no difference between the two moves so why do we do both of them? Thanks for your help. I just love this DVD.

The only thing I can think of that is different is that with the legs straight up you get more resistance because this leg position creates a longer lever for the fulcrum (your lower abs) to work as opposed to the reverse curl leg position. So, I would think that that the hip lifts would provide a more intense workout than the reverse curls.

I have a greater range of motion with the hip lifts, where my legs are straight up, than with reverse curls, where my legs are bent. Also, with reverse curls, I feel the work in the lower part of the lower abs, whereas with the hip lifts, I feel it a bit higher up in my lower abs. I hope that makes sense.:)

Actually, I think the difference betw the two exercises is that on one of them (I can't exactly remember which), Cathe says DO NOT let the hips touch the floor. This made one of the exercises considerably harder than the other.

I could be mistaken that she said that, but I'm pretty sure she did, because I couldn't see a difference betw the two at first. Also, I wasn't feeling the exercise like Cathe a crew seemed to be.
