MJ's memorial

I don't recall crying at my father's funeral. I was too little to comprehend the reality.....and I was really excited to play with my cousins.

The media hardly made mention on the passing of Robert S. McNamara. Granted, he didn't die an untimely death and he didn't sport a white sequined glove but his impact as a former Secretary of Defense is undeniable. We are an ignorant nation enamored with celebrities to our own peril. Now the poor Jackson children will have to hide from the camera. I'd think being called "Blanket" would be hard enough to bear.

Beavs - NPR (which has been my news savior during this masturbatory media puke-fest) did a pretty good piece on McNamara's passing yesterday. They talked a lot about The Fog of War documentary.

Needless to say, I didn't watch memorial...soooo NOT a fan.

I didn't cry at my dad's funeral, either. I did so much crying the three days after, that I didn't have it in me anymore. Plus, the service was so sterile and religious and contained nothing that related very much to the man he was or how I felt about his death. Maybe that was a good thing.
