milk; soy; problems?

I have a sister-in-law who has been diagnosed with a thyroid problem (which is causing her other problems I won't go into). While looking into this, I came across this article which says too much soy is bad for your thyroid. Now before anyone gets upset with me, I am not suggesting that people quit drinking soy milk or anything like that. I am not suggesting that this is the final word on the issue. I am just pointing out the article.

Hi, Jeanne, I just saw a show about soy. Soy's definitely not for everyone. Women with breast cancer and at risk for breast cancer also should not ingest much soy. Like most things, it's best consumed in moderation! I think the beauty of being an omnivore is variety. I don't eat pork at all and eat red meat very rarely, but otherwise, I eat little bit of everything.

Hi, my question is a bit off topic, but Bobbi, why don't you eat pork? I'm curious because pork always makes me feel sick. Is there a health reason why you don't eat it?

Alls I can say is that soy milk gives me terrible gas. Does anybody else have this problem?
