Hey, Michele -- I wanted to let you know that you did something great for me yesterday!
I was reading your thread about needing a kick from the gang so you'd go do your cardio. Well, I have been in a terrible fitness slump. Let's be honest: I haven't exercised regularly in over a year! I have every Cathe DVD under the sun, and I don't use them. At all. And I really, really feel it. And I'm working with cardiac patients and every day I work I see exactly where a sedentary lifestyle will take me. So...guilt, guilt, guilt. And excuses, excuses, excuses. I'm just in a bad spot, and I haven't been able to figure out how to begin again. Anyway...something in your post -- and then in the feisty, loving, supportive replies -- hit me! And I got up from the computer and went up to my elliptical and did 10 minutes. Just 10 minutes, but my heart beat faster and my muscles worked, and today I have a very satisfying soreness in my quads and calves!
So, thanks! I'm going to do 10 minutes again today. It's a tiny start, but maybe tomorrow I'll do 12 minutes, or I'll pop in a strength training workout. And if I start finding reasons why I *can't* do it, I'm going to remember your request for a kick in the rear, and all those great responses, and I'm going to do it anyway. Because you have to start somewhere, right?
Thanks for letting me share!
Allison
