MIC

Cathlete
I just did MIC for the first time in - oh...6 years. It was my first Cathe tape and I stopped doing it when I bought other ones (because I hate Hi/Lo). Anyway...thank GOD Cathe has grown her hair out! I would say, "what was she thinking?" except, I think I had the same haircut back then! Cathe - you're getting better looking every year!

(I didn't hate the Hi/Lo as much as I thought I was going to...so maybe I'll put this one back into rotation)

I did MIC for the very first time today. OH MY!!! That is one tough workout.

I have been reluctant to do it because of everything I have read here, and now I know why. I was feeling quite adventurous as I did conquer the two IMaxes, but MIC is a whole new ballgame. I thought it would never end!!!

I think it will be a while before I attempt this one again....

I kind of think Cathe looks adorable with short hair!;-)

MIC is Cathe's hardest cardio workout to date! It fills me with dread everytime it comes up on a rotation. I have made it easier by doing the step portion first, but regardless, I find running a 10K easier!

I did MIC yesterday, what a great workout!!! I like it that Cathe isn't obsessed with looking fab in her workouts (just comes naturally for her!), I always think it's cute that her hair is pretty dishevelled and matted to her forehead at the end of the hi/lo (wish I could say the same for me, I'm just drenched and spent:p) ). This is a wonderful workout and I'm glad I dusted it off.

Take Care
Laurie:)

Because of this thread, I bumped up MIC and just finshed it. It is so bloody hard! However, I really feel great, like I've accomplished something great for today. It just leaves me so completely relaxed when I'm done. I'm glad I did it.:)

I have done MIC yesterday. I did some modifications when I could not stay jumping because I needed to exhale.I love it. I like the jumps with the kicks with each leg especcialy. How says that hi/low was not intense? Woooo.Today I am going to try IMAX 1.This is my challenge for today as cathe says in bootcamp. :)

OK, OK...I have to admit...I did MIS the day after I wrote about her hair in MIC, and it really is a cute haircut. Still...I like her hair longer. (Like Katie Couric...cute with the short hair, kind of foxy with it longer). I also get a kick out of seeing Cedie and Hope back in the days when they only had like 10 lbs. on their barbells. They have really come a long way!

Anyway...you really think MIC is the hardest? I did Circuit Max last week and was dying. IMAX too, I couldn't do the power lunge interval or the last one with the airborn jacks. I don't know if those just feel awkward to me, or if I was really just too tired. Probably a combination of both.

Since I have a child going to preschool 4 days a week (which costs almost as much a year as my mortgage!), I don't have the budget to buy the newer workouts (the last one I bought was Slow & Heavy in 2001). I've been testing the waters with those they're showing on Fit TV, except those really make me mad with the commercial interruptions!x( I did IMAX2 yesterday and they actually cut out 2 of the intervals. GRRRRRR! I'll be using that one as my 30 -40 minute Interval Run instead of actually running (hate running!)

I'm trying to decide which DVD series to ask my husband to buy me for Christmas. Should I go with Body Blast or Intensity???? (I was going to ask for a pair of leather dress boots...my how priorities change when you get hooked back into excercising, eh?)

I recommend to you the intensity series. In the IS you have Bootcamp, IMAX 2 And ME three of my five stars workouts.IMAX 2 is easy after doing IMAX 1.Those jumps of cathe in the 10 interval are incredibles.

Speaking of Circuit Max, I have this DVD and have never done it. I don't like hi-lo, so I've avoided it like the plague. I should really force myself to try it. After all, it does have step and kickboxing in it. I just wish it was chaptered better!

I also think you should go for the Intensity Series. While the premixes in the BB series take the workouts to a harder level, I think IS is tougher, and the workouts are unique. Plus, I think it has better music.

I don't like Hi/Lo either (too much bouncing). I never do 10-10-10 in my CTX and it took me forever to get myself to do MIC again. But...Circuit Max IS a really good workout and the Hi/Lo goes pretty quickly. You spent the money, you should do it once in a while.

That's two votes for Intensity. I guess that will be on my list then. (It's $10 cheaper too, so that's a bonus).
