METS versus Heart Rate Monitors

Hi Cathe!

I recently found your step videos on youtube after searching and searching for step DVDs that reminded me of the classes I used to LOVE at the gym! Yours are awesome, and I'm so happy I found you! I was even more delighted when I saw that the place that the DVDs were shipped from was Glassboro, since I'm only in Williamstown!

Anyway, my question is this: When I input your DVD into the calendar workout and/or use the MET system to figure out my calorie burn, it is less than what I get from my Polar FT4 Heart Rate Monitor. I am assuming that since the monitor is recording my actual heartbeat and has all my information in it as far as age, weight, etc., that it is a more accurate record of the calories burned. Just wondering if I am correct and if so, how do I change the calorie burn numbers on the home page?

Thanks so much! I'm waiting on a couple more DVDs now!

I have a polar f4 and most of the time I'm within 15-30 burn calories sometimes less or more depending on the workout. I go by the polar because my workouts are all going to be different some days I just put more into them kwim. I use the met as what I should achieve if I find myself less. When I do more then I feel like I've rocked master the workout just my opinion.

Yes I realized that after I got the first DVD and it was shipped from Glassboro! Once I get myself in shape, I may pay a visit!!! Thanks!
