Messed up DVD

I just noticed today that my daughter marked several of her DVDs (thank God not my Cathe's) with a Permanent Marker. That leaves the disk unreadable - I tried to take the marker off with nailpolish remover - but it's still unreadable.

Is there anything I can do to save those DVDs?

If she wrote only on the title side of the disc, maybe the problem isn't the marker, but fingerprints or something on the playing side. If it's the playing side, I would guess that it's beyond repair. Anything you try to use to get it off would probably do as much damage as the marker, if not more (like nailpolish remover!).

She wrote 'Side A' and 'Side B' with big letters on the playing sides. I figured that they were beyond repair.
