Merry Monday MELTERS!

Allie, honey, please don't take this the wrong way, but you get sick WAY too much for someone your age and in your kind of shape. You need to get your arse to the doctor asap. Please? I'm just really concerned about you!

Lainie - I'm sending anti-sleepy vibes. I'm also really concerned about your and your always-tired self! Did you pre-order Amy's new workouts?

Leanne - yay! You're back! I'm happy to see you!

Tneah - dang, woman, get writing that book! And OMG those boots... have I ever mentioned that I have a boot fetish? Chris also has a boot fetish. Now where's that evil devil smiley when you need him.

Kristi - love the "mom" wakey wakey!

Hi to everyone else! Well, we decided not to do much of anything today but hang out at home. We went and bought flagstone to make a path where the dogs have already made a path. It's a bit of a losing battle. Of course, now they'll just make a path somewhere else and soon our whole yard will be flagstone:p Sophie has a friend over and I'm not doing much of anything. Which feels weird. Oh, I did B&G Standing Glutes and Abs. My butt is fried.

HEY GUYS!!!! OMG, just got done talking to Mr Trainerman. I’m a little freaked, a little excited – full of emotions! I know 12 weeks is a LONG time, and I hope I can do it. He said that if I push myself, my little body should make some huge changes! That’s exciting!!!! 40 min cardio 5/week, plus 4 weight circuits with cardio interspersed within the actual circuit. Crazy! This will be new to me – I’ve never worked out this way. I’ve already been shopping and cooking this morning, and have portioned out for the rest of the week my little bits of food and massive amounts of protein. Supplements are on order… whoa. I can’t believe I’m doing this!

Okay, enough about me already.

We sure were quiet over the weekend!

Deb – sorry about the HRM! I’m a nutcase with mine – almost a little too obsessive over it. How are you liking the KB workouts?

Hi Peggie! Happy packing. Hope you have a great day at work – glad you got your morning workout in. I know how it messes up your day when you sleep in!

Hi Shellers!!! Glad to see you today. Lumping at a beach sounds really great! Hope you had your sunscreen on. Will keep my fingers crossed for nice weather the rest of your week! Tneah’s right – those weatherpeople don’t always get it right. ETA - we were posting at the same time! I heart boots too. And shoes. *sigh*

Shannon – wooo hoooo on the car!!! Funny that your traffic was light on Friday – ours was interestingly enough as well. Kinda weird. Man, I didn’t know you painted!!! I should buy a painting from all the melties that are artsy – we love interesting art and local artists. I know you’re not exactly local, but you’re local to me, in our little corner of Catheland. LMAO about your suggestion to Allie and Lainie to find a cure for fatigue. You crack me up, woman.

Lainie – which BC? The original? I love that one. I hope you enjoy it. I think it’s awesome you and DH played tennis! DH and I play racquetball… well, he plays and I either run and shriek away from the ball (he hits it way too hard and its skurry) or I swing at imaginary balls. I actually think my racquet has a hole in it. I’m pretty sure it does. Anyhoo, he doesn’t play with me much for exercise, merely for comic relief.

Kristi – way to get up and drag the fam for the walk! I love your attitude about getting your DDs into fitness, with a healthy approach. My DF was the same way with the chubby comments.

Allie – how did the conversation with your mom go? And how was dinner with your dad? If you’re shaking – is your blood sugar low? Have you eaten? Just cuz you’re tired doesn’t mean you shouldn’t fuel that body. You’re under a lot of stress these days, honey – and that can wreak havoc on your poor little body. Your first priority and OBLIGATION is to take care of yourself.

Hi Leanne! So glad you had fun at your beading class! You’ll have to show us some of the things you worked on! I’d love to see!!! We missed you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tneah – are y’all having a blissful week saying “byebye” to your old boat? Sorry your lunch yesterday sucked. L That’s the pits. I’m a little freaked about this program! What did you get me into!!?!???!? Cuz you forced me, remember? Forced. LMAO. Just kidding of course. I'll be looking to blame someone when I'm hungry, cranky and tired in a few weeks. You’re right about his voice. ;) LOL

Hey to everyone that follows. Have to run more errands and I'll BBL to chat more.

Allie - get a job that is not family. Working for family is hell. But first, go home. Don't be ridiculous, or be a martyr. Just go.

Kara - what kind of treatment and recovery do you have to deal with for your foot injury? Ick. I assume lots of rest, huh?

Shelley - that flagstone path will be beautiful! It's a good thing since yeah, you're right. You're looking at a flagstone yard, eventually. :p

Breckie - oh wow.... you've got TONS of cardio! It sounds like you've got a big change coming. We're here for you, girl. Go for it!

Hmmm.... blood sugar. Breckie, that's a good call. Allie, have it checked, please. Your system could be out of whack or something, what with the crazy schedule you keep.

Hey everyone! Since my last post was unapologetic, I am here now to apologize for being MIA lately. Life has been kinda crappy. Anyhoo, the kidlets start school on Monday, so I have today-Wed to make sure they are ready. Yikes. Colin is desperately trying to cram in all of his "summer enrichment" into this week and is rather crabby. Hmmm, go figure. I am thinking of y'all and sending positive (as much as I am capable of) your way!

Allie--I hope you feel better. Listen to Shelley!

Welcome back, Leanne!

Shelley--I hope the weatherpeople are wrong about the rain!

BG--Good luck on the program!!!

Tneah--Love the boots!

Shannon--I am glad you are enjoying the car!

Kristi--Thank you for the RT advice! Good luck training the girls! I have Colin and Emma wearing pedometers each day to see who can log the most steps before school starts...

Deb--Good job on the iTread! I love #13, 30 minutes! Sorry about the HRM!

Peggie--Good luck with the packing!

Lainie--Have fun at Target!

Shannon--I have continued to take ibuprofen and ice it. I can't do yoga because upward dog bothers it, but have used my kettlebells and elliptical with no problems today. I have to be really careful about my shoes, so they don't place any pressure on the area. I also have using my night splint that I had for plantar fasciitis.

Hi, y'all (I guess I'm feelin' all Texas-y today),
We're back from driver's ed -- they had a 70 question pop quiz on signs, and my girls each only missed 3! :D DD & I went to Target and Academy (our local large sports store), and I bought weighted gloves and ankle weights. YEA for me!!!

BTW, I actually picked up a Kettlebell in Target, but I quickly put it down. I also glanced at them in Academy. They are sort of expensive, aren't they? I will just keep enjoying them vicariously through you all! ;)

BG -- well, here you go -- we're all here behind you!!! Weird how our parents say things thinking they are being "helpful" and then we're all screwed up for life. God only knows what I'm doing to my girls!!!

Allie -- I TOTALLY agree with Shelley -- you need to go to a dr. Given that you take care of yourself, this doesn't make sense. :( And, of course, we are bossy b/c we love you!!!

Shelley -- just chillax and enjoy the day! You deserve it -- thanks for the mental pictures regarding boots & fetishes. (insert devil smiley)

Kara -- aaaawwwww, I'm sorry about all that EXCEPT the pink skirts -- there is NO SUCH THING as too much pink!!! REALLY sorry about TTOM & RT!!! I'm sure your hair is darling!!! Post pics so we can all tell you how darling it is! You go girl with your Madonna arms -- what an awesome cashier!

Shannon -- Bless you for being the voice of reason!!! I was almost feeling bad about my lack of interest in all the bells and whistles on The Cathe Nation. I'll use the WM for my 1RM when we are closer to getting STS. I totally hear you on the losing battle of keeping the yard alive in this heat!!!

Leanne -- YEA, you're home!!! We missed you -- we were downright pathetic this weekend!!! Glad you had fun -- post pics of the projects!

Tneah -- You have such interesting life experiences; I'd just love to sit and chat with you all afternoon sometime. You really should write that book! I admired Corey Everson, too, way back when I was a senior in high school and dating an aspiring body builder. He ultimately got a little too obsessed and I wrote my freshman research paper in college on steroids in order to get him to quit using them.

Hi, everyone else!!

Kara - I'm glad you can still move around some. I don't need to tell you to be careful, right? ;)

Kristi - yep, you sound like a real southern gal. We say that a lot over here too. Yay for your new workout stuff! And yay for resisting the KBs! :D

I'm such a good girl.:D We alway celebrate each month's b'days at the office with a big sheet cake. I usually don't even go into the break room. But they made me come today, since my b'day is this month. And I did not have even one crumb of cake.

See, Breckie? You're a good influence. I'm going to clean up my eating! Not super-clean like you of course. I'd go insane doing that... :p

ETA - hey, I have FIVE smilies up there. Did our smiley allotment increase?

Okay. One more hour to go. I can make it. Can't I?

Wow. That's ELEVEN.

Can I do more?

:p;):D:eek::):(:confused::mad::rolleyes::cool::eek::p;):D:eek:

Okay. Just found out the limit is 15. I can handle that.

Yea for you, Shannon, on resisting the cake!!! I guess it sounds silly to talk about not buying KBs in the same sentence that I said I bought ankle weights & weighted gloves, but I "need" those for workouts I already own, and they were not expensive.

This might be a stupid question, but do y'all think I can use the weighted gloves with a dumbbell to enhance my weight load by a pound on each side? For instance, sometimes I'd just like to add a pound to an exercise (like triceps or shoulders) b/c the jump to the next dumbbell is too much. I don't want to try to add every size weight to my collection b/c, even if every size were available, it'd be expensive & take up too much space. Does this make sense?

Kristi - I think it would be worth a try! I guess it would depend on how comfortable and safe your grip on the DB is. Give it a shot!

Thanks, Shannon -- I think I will. I just tried them with a dumbbell and a lying tricep extension. I already worked my tris today, so they are a bit fried, but the weight addition seemed great. Plus, my gloves are black with pink on them, so they are great all the way around.

Shee-ot! You all are waaay ahead of me today!:p

BG! Whoo-eee girl! So he is making you do some intense circuits hey? Ha! *sticks tongue out* neener, neener, neener...I didn't have to do that, although he had me pushing the weights super hard--ugh, I got super strong for awhile there. Was doing lateral raises with 20 pounds, which for me is alot. Told you about that voice huh? Sorta squeaky. I am excited for you, you can do this, the first few weeks will be easy because its a new thing, the second month you might be really emotional like I was, the third month you get in your zone.

Kristi, I think that might work using the weighted gloves...LOL at your pink loving self! I love pink too, but strangely do not own alot of pink clothing which is a shame, as this color is so flattering.

Shelley, Oh boy, do I have a pair of boots for you chica. I own these black patent leather, almost 6 inch heels, they go all the up to almost crotch level. Oh yeah...

Kara, ((HUGS)) crappers on the hair, although I am sure you look fabulous, and wow on the super compliment! I wish someone would tell me that! You go with your material girl self! Take care of that foot!

Shannon, good girl, good girl, I am glad you resisted the cake, so today zi resist the wine and the extraneous carbs...oh, and I wouldn't wear those boots cause they would only look good on a skinny chick,, tucked into skinny jeans, something you will never ever see my arse in!

Allison, I think we all feel a little bit motherly towards ya sweetie, I second and third the idea of you seeing a doctor right away please.
Maybe you are just overtraining? I shudder when I read how you work out, maybe its time to take some more rest days?

Leanne, I emailed ya sweets!

Okay where is Robin?? How come I always get a nasty message telling me I posted too many smilies??

Guess what I did? I RAN!! Gulp. Yeah, I will be paying for this tomorrow in the form of either shin splints, hip grief, low back angst or all three. I did itrain a 60 minute one, and Grace made me do it! Actually, I did not run the whole time at all, but for a good 25 minutes...gosh I love it, well at least I did this morning, you know how sometimes you get that energy thing? Tonight I will do the Squeeze workout and stretch...

Gotta run to the dry cleaners and am thinking about making DH a nice roast or something since he is on Atkins (well I think he is)....

OK, I’m finally back and ya’ll have been busy—lots of chatting to catch up on.

I ended up doing BC as planned. I finally decided my forearm and wrist were too sore from tennis yesterday to do kettlebells. They still gave me some trouble during BC, but not like I think they would have doing KBs.

Would you believe I got an order in the mail today from Oh My Bod that I had forgotten I ordered? You know you’re buying too much when you forget about something you ordered. It was a pink asymmetrical top (like the yellow one Cathe wears in one of the STS workouts—maybe in the stretch workout) and some black capri pants. I probably won’t wear either to the road trip this year (the pants are a bit too snug and the top is very nipply without a bra—but not sure how to wear a bra with it).

I also ordered more from ATLoft today. Yowza, DH is going to kill me when he checks the bank account again…. I got a couple tops and a couple capri pants—I ordered next-day delivery so I should have it tomorrow and see if any of it can be worn this weekend or what.

Oh, and speaking of stuff I’ve ordered, I wore my new Rykas today and they were great! Woo-hoo! :D:D:D:D:D (playing with our extra smiley limit)

Kristi, my Target is just a regular Target. We don’t seem to have any Super Targets anywhere in the area, for some reason. Our Target is attached to a HUGE mall, though, so there are other things I can do there. I really would probably never go anywhere else if it was a Super Target. :) However, I do prefer a smaller grocery store when I go get groceries (esp. with the kids). As for waking, my step-dad would yell “Rise and shine! I wanna hear the pitter patter of little Perrault feetsies!” (my maiden name was Perrault) but my mom would just sing in an operatic voice). I do both to my kids.

Allie, I’m so sorry to hear how tired and sick you feel. And I can relate. I just yawned as I was typing that. I have not been too sick since the spring, but I felt like I was sick almost all the time in the fall and winter. I did have a random bit of nausea earlier today, though. I get that once in a while out of nowhere. I think you should also see your doc soon. Plus, maybe your job is making you sick. When I taught high school (for just one year) I was sick all the time—literally couldn’t eat lunch because my stomach was churning so much. I lost 25 lbs, but not in a good way.

Tneah, yeah, I often think about writing books based on certain dreams. Sometimes one night of dreaming can seem like a whole novel! Yet I wake up tired. Weird.

Shannon, yep, not many miles on this car. It helps that I live in town and only drive a couple miles to the grocery store or mall, and sometimes just walk to the post office or library or local shops. Now when we lived in Houston I would drive plenty—couldn’t get anywhere without driving for at least half an hour there.

Tneah, to post a picture, here’s what you do: While you are in the reply mode, look above at the little symbols and click on the picture symbol (looks like a mountain and when you put the cursor over it it’ll show “Insert Image”). Then you put the http:// address in the box that pops up. Adorable sexy boots, by the way! ;)

Leanne, glad to have you back! Yeah, I’m doing all-Cathe this week, I think, too. Tomorrow is probably 4DS Double Cardio premix. Love that one.

Wow, Kara, you’ve got all kinds of drama going on! (((HUGS))) One thing I can relate to—I’m also waiting for TTOM to start. It’s not late yet but I’m hoping it will come and get over with before RT. If not, I’m just going to cheat and start the next batch of pills early!

Shelley, I preordered Amy’s ASC3 workout but not Rumble (but I will probably get it eventually as well). Did you get them?

Breckie, I am a little freaked for you in sympathy. :p I’m sure you will rock the program! And you really are my little cosmic twin—I am the type to shriek and run from balls as well! Well, not too bad with tennis but I would with racquetball, I’m sure. Also, I kept saying, “I swear this racquet has a hole in it!” to my DH yesterday. Basically, to picture me playing tennis, picture Lucille Ball playing tennis (only make her blond and wearing modern dress). :p:p:p:p

Hope to BBL.

Kristi - you know, I like pink too. Not the hot bright stuff, but the softer shades. Maybe I should go shopping... Um, no, maybe not. I just bought a car. Gulp.

Tneah - honey, I'm with ya on the skinny jeans. Even if I could get them over my hips, they sure wouldn't make me look skinny! Not with this rump. Ahem - maybe you should plan a rest day tomorrow so you can recover from your run. I know how you feel though... it sure feels good. I won't do it anymore though because it screws up my knees. But believe me, it's hard to resist the temptation. Especially when Miss Shelleypants talks about her fantastic runs.

Lanie - you are the shoppingest person I've ever met! Whew - you wear me out just thinking about it. :D I'm glad you have fun though!

Hello kittens

Man, have you guys been a talkin' today.

Okay, in honor of Breckie. I got up did Lauren KB workout. At 4 p.m., did CC3 on the elliptical and this is what I ate today so far:

6 a.m. Protein shake
9 a.m. Oatmeal with walnuts
Noon - cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots and tuna
3 p.m. Green apple and almonds
5 p.m. - Muscle milk protein bar, just half to hold me over for supper

Haven't had supper yet. Leaving in a few for DH's birthday dinner. Hoping for the catfish tacos. We'll see where we end up going.

So, am very proud of my day so far. I am too cool for words.:D

Allie - Hey, you should get some blood work done. You should not be this tired at your age. Maybe Shannon is right, your working for family is making your crazy.

Tneah - LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the boots. I think I am pretty much white trash and those pretty much look like something I might wear. Maybe not to work, but definitely to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. We usually go every year, but not this year because of the RT. Besides, I am selling my Harley, because I hardly ever ride it.

Lainie - I want a Target. Your outfits sound sooooo cute. I got the cutest pair of Nike shorts in the mail today. I bought them on Ebay. They are so comfy, I want to wear them every day. They will definitely be going to the RT.

Leanne - Glad you're back and had a good time. I ordered the Newport DVD and expected it would be here by now, but have not gotten it yet. :(

Is everyone ready . . . SEMEN. Yep, semen again. I get to go search a car tomorrow and we get to look for SEMEN. Yummy!!!

Kristi - I loved what you guys said about working out. I started working out when I was 12 and have never stopped. I have always instilled good eating habits and working out to my kids, but Corie, the one in college, is a slug. She drives me nuts. She NEVER works out. At least she eats better than most college kids. She eats veggies anyway.

Kara - Holy Sh*$. You better post a picture or I won't recognize you. I will let you know on Wednesday whether I have to check my bag. I guess I'm not even sure what size bag you can carry on. I might want to find out that first. Does anyone know? I am getting really excited though.

Shelley - Hi sweet thing.

Deb - Hi Deb. Hope you had a great day.

Robin - Where are you?

Hope I didn't miss anyone. BBL

Hey ladies,

Waah! Waah! That's the sound of me crying and bellyaching b/c I've had to do work around the house all day and haven't had time to come play and chat with my Melty gals! Ladies, I've miiiiisssed you!!!

I just finished up housework, laundry, working out, and errands, and finally have a chance to sit down again. Thud. I was supposed to hang out with my little brother tonight (he was going to come up here after work and we were going to go grab dinner and go shopping at the outlet center right by my house), but I just called him to re-schedule for next week. I'm pooped! I think it's also because I got lousy sleep at the motel this weekend.

And "hooray!" for pink and "booo!" for skinny jeans! :p

Allie -- I'm worried about you, sweetie! That is so not good that you've been getting sick so much! Do you think that it's stress-related?? I'm also giving you a kick in the pants to go see your Dr.

Shannon -- Hooray for resisting that cake, although you certainly deserve it with your b-day coming up! What day is it on?? You are too funny with your smiley-checking!

Kristi -- I think I need you to yell "Wakey, wakey!" for me, too, today! Using the weighted gloves sounds like a really smart idea! Like Shannon said, try it and see how it feels. Hooray for your new pink gloves!

Kara -- Holy crap, woman! Madonna arms??? That is like the ULTIMATE compliment! I looooove her arms! Honestly, that should more than make up for all that gloominess! And, hey, you've been wanting that pixie cut for awhile, so this is THE perfect opportunity to get it! It's going to look ADORABLE on you, and it'll be so easy to care for during the RT!! I'm so sorry that things are still so hectic for you on the home front. Will it make things easier once the kids are back in school next week? Of course, the timing sounds super bad since you'll be gone this weekend, but it sounds like W. can help them out, right? Now what is severe extensor tendinitis? Are you going to be OK this weekend with all the working out we have ahead of us?? I hope so!!!!!

Shelley -- Sounds like a day of doing nothing is a good thing! My tush is sending your tush sympathy vibes since I have B&G scheduled for tomorrow, too. Mike has a bit of a foot thing, too -- not boots necessarily, just feet. (TMI?) ;) How is that hunky guy of yours doing? Has Chris still been working out like a madman?

Breckie -- Hooray for starting your new program! Remember that we're here to be your cheerleaders, OK? Yes, I'll definitely post photos of each necklace when I finish them, but it'll be awhile. From what I can estimate, it seems like each one will take me about 30-40 hours, so I have a lot of beading ahead of me! :p

Tneah -- Oh, my! We have to see a photo of those sexay boots you just described! Are they for wig nights? ;) Now, because I love you, I have to "tsk, tsk" you on that running today! Naughty girl! Is your hip bothering you from it? Hope not! I think that Robin's at the beach this week on vacation.

Lainie - I need to stop with the shopping, too, and all the beads I bought this weekend did not help at all. Should we make a pact to stop shopping for a few weeks? Ooh, oooh! I'm scheduled to do 4DS double cardio on Wednesday, but maybe I'll do it tomorrow with you! I looooove that one! LOL about you playing tennis as Lucille Ball. I can totally picture it!

Pegsters -- We were posting at the same time, so I had to come back and say "hi" to you! Oh no -- here we go with the semen again! WTG on your eating today, you healthy thing, you. Did you get your new oatmeal? That is so cool that you have a Harley! The woman sitting across from me in beading class all weekend just got a new motorcycle and it was so cool. What a bummer that you haven't gotten Newport yet, but, just think -- you'll be all ready to enjoy it when you get back from the RT! I bet your roommate will also be great, and you can also come hang out with Kara and me in our room! Hooray! Wish your DH a very happy b-day from us!!

Love and squishy kisses to all my gals! :D Mike started taking a volleyball class on Monday nights (he's taking a break from kung fu), so I'll be beading tonight and will try to come back later to check in!

And . . . SEMEN!

Hi melters. I just have a few minutes while the pizza is cooking. We are having a nice time here in Virginia. My SIL and her DH flew us up to Tangier Island today where we wandered around, then had a delicious crab-filled lunch. The previous two days were spent at the beach. No one here loves it as much as I, so we always get a late start, but tomorrow, everyone has to go to work, so we will get to the beach before noon.

I've only had time to do one workout - Strike Zone - yesterday. It's not easy to get to a TV for an hour, due to sleeping arrangements here. And my eating has been appalling. I think I'm making up for no alcohol with all the junk food. When I get home,I hope you'll all push my butt into the clean eating pants I've seemed to left on the bedroom floor at home.

I'm having a little trouble on this s-l-o-w computer, so I've only been able to skim a few posts. For some reason, only half of today's posts showed up?!?! I'm totally in the void as far as what's going on with all of you.

Shelley, I hope you are enjoying your week off.

Kristi, I think I saw that you and your family are training for a race? Good luck!

I saw that Tneah is heading for SD, I think. Safe trip. I'm assuming the new boat will be here soon?

Shannon, I saw you got your new car. How exciting. Did you keep your truck, or trade it in?

I couldn't see much more. Danged slow computer and stupid, high tech hard to use mouse! I don't know if I'll get a chance to check in again before we leave for NC on Wed. Know that I miss you all. Lots of love and hugs from hot and sunny VA.

I’m popping in again a bit late to catch up a little more. Man, my arms are killing me now, after tennis yesterday and BC today. I tell ya, I’m glad I’m doing step tomorrow so I can let my arms rest. I might not even do all the arm movements but just keep my arms down. :p

I just wrote about those wacky dreams on my dream blog. I wish I could remember more details—should have written them down first thing.

Shannon, oy, I’m embarrassed to be the shoppingest person you know. That’s why I’ve started giving up shopping for Lent every year, so I can spend some time not shopping and think about why I do it. It’s not working to prevent hte shopping the rest of the year, though. It’s a good thing I married a man who can afford me. :p No, we aren’t rich but he makes enough to cover lots of Target shopping, at least.

Peggie, wow, great eating today! Of course, I read it and I think, “Ow. That would hurt my braces.” I’ve gotta find more clean foods that are braces-friendly. Good luck with the SEMEN search tomorrow.

Leanne, yay, I hope you do Double Cardio with me tomorrow. :D It would be fun to know we are doing it the same day right before we meet at the RT. Hmm, like I said to Shannon above, I do stop during Lent, but maybe I should stop at another point in the year as well…. Of course, I do indeed need to do a little pre-school shopping, so maybe we could stop shopping with the exception of actual school supplies or writing supplies for you or something?

Robin, good to see you had a chance to check in with us today. Hope you’re having a fabulous time!
