{{{ Melting on Monday! }}}}}

Hi, I'm back...

I did an I-Tread this morning...screwed up again by hitting "exit" too early..I did the abs from Pyramid right after the I-Tread then looked at the HRM and it had NOTHING on it! I had already wiped out what I had donex( x( x( .. I can;t believe it's actually snowing here now..It's almost April for crying out loud.

Lainie:
Maybe you have CFS? or something like that?

Tneah:
I am a sunless tanning junkie. I have tried many of them..I had the original Jergens moisturizering one that you put on every day and it tans a little at a time and could not get by the smell..ugh! it was awful. Does this one have that sunless tanner smell? You would think that all they can do with chemicals now a days and they can't get rid of that smell x( . Maybe you and your DH can work on this! You would make billions! LOL. Let me know what you think and I will also check it out over on Make Up Alley.

Have a great day..will check in later.

Deb:)

Morning Melters!

Deb - I couldn't drag myself out of bed this morning, so I will work out later. Sorry to hear about the HRM! I hate when that happens. We got snow here overnight and it's 23 F right now. I'm SICK of it, I tell ya!

All right, I suppose I ought to head to work. I'll check back in later.

Good Morning Everyone.

Just like Shelley, my weather is cold here too. My house was cold this AM wondering if my heat was working, but now it's on. More snow this week.

Today, no workouts. Later this week, BM2 or In the Ring (Bento), a friend from Jersey is sending me this workout and I love kickboxing.

Next Holiday, end of May then 3 weeks after that, I fly to NY. So, another long time frame before I get time off again unless I can sqeeze in a day in April.

No more snow, no more cold!!!

Hi, all you Melters -

Hey, when does Robin come back? I miss her!

I called in sick Friday and took three complete days off from computers. These headaches and neck tension are really getting me down. Don't know exactly how to fix the problem, since computers are my livlihood. Did I spell that correctly? Oh well.

Yesterday I did GSL and... are you ready???? I did ALL of the calf raises!! WHOOPEEE! I'm so excited! Maybe that darned calf is actually going to heal and stay healed now.

Deb - just toss the HRM in the corner and forget about it. ;-) It's just another dang machine. I used to track the readings on my elliptical and write them down for comparison. Not anymore. I got tired of it and decided to just gauge my workouts by how I feel.

Shelley - I'm sorry you got MORE snow! How much this time? How annoying! Have the snow banks in your neighborhood melted at all?

Jennifer - I'm with you, looking for another holiday! I hope you find one.

Just popping in to say "hi". Last night Isaac didn't vomit, at least, but he woke up still with a hurting tummy. So we're going to the doctor at 11:30. Ewan was up crying 4 times in the night, though. I think what finally helped is I changed his clothes. He had been wearing a 2T footie pajamas and they seemed a bit snug. When I put him in his brother's 4T pj's (a bit big) he finally slept. I feel bad that I didn't realize he'd grown so much. Or actually, I had realized it because I've been putting him in the 4Ts lately but yesterday Brian put the 2Ts on him. Yeah, blame the hubby--that's it.

Anyway, can't chat long because I need to try to fit in my workout before we go to the doctor. BBL.

Good morning melters. It's good to be home. Sort of. We had a good trip. It wasn't the best, but it was good. Unfortunately, every family with kids who had a week off for Easter must have gone to St John last week. The island was much more crowded than it usually is. Plus, there were big swells on the north, unprotected side of the island, so everyone went to the beaches on the other side. The crowds, along with more clouds than sun, put a bit of a damper on the week, but hey, it was still a week in paradise. We had a three hour delay in San Juan on the way home, so we didn't roll into bed until 4am this morning. Luckily, I was able to contact my supervisor from Puerto Rico and arrange another day off. Today will be spent unpacking, laundrying, and napping. I'm hoping to fit some kind of workout in. We did lots of hiking and my knee is doing great. Sorry to be so self-centered, but I haven't a clue whats new with all of you. Any updates? Oh, and I managed to melt off a couple pounds!

Happy Monday, Melters!

Ah, I'm off this week on spring break, and it's such a nice feeling! I need to take my car in for a smog check, but I think that I'm going to do that on Wednesday so I can relax today and just run out to make a quick trip to Trader Joe's. This morning I'm going to bead a bit more (I'm still working on this necklace, which is such slow-going: http://cynthiarutledge.net/workshops/colors/n-circlet-of-lace.htm) and then I'll probably do Low Max or Imax 2 and some abs.

Speaking of beading, registration for classes at a bead store in Los Angeles starts tomorrow, and my DH is going to give me one of the more expensive classes for my b-day (which I asked for, following Tneah's great idea!), which isn't until August, but that's also when the class is. What do you all think of these two necklaces?:

http://creativecastle.com/Creatives/Meister/Meister.htm

I'm thinking of doing the Penelope's Crown one since I'm a sucker for cameos. Is it too gaudy??

Hope you all have a great melty day! I'll BBL for sure!

Deb -- Glad that your brunch went so well yesterday! You mentioned that you went to look at houses with your DF, but did your DD go also? Don't worry about eating so much candy! 'Tis the season for some Easter treats!

Tneah -- Thank you SOOO much for the goodies you sent! I sent you an email/PM about them! I'm so excited about using them! And thanks for being my cheerleader! I feel like I'm so close to being where I want to be with my body fat, and yet it's such hard work and I'm not totally committed. I think that I kept thinking that I would commit more when STS comes out, but I think I need to do it now! Like Deb, I've tried that regular Jergens lotion, which I really liked, so I'll have to try this new stuff. How did you like the DM cardio pre-mix you did yesterday? I love regular DM, and haven't done it in ages since I haven't been doing circuits. I'm hoping to get back into them soon. Was your Spinervals workout today one of your new ones? What a bummer that it wasn't so much fun!:-(

Shelley -- Sorry to hear that you got more snow! Is it supposed to last? Does Sophie get a spring break like we do here?

Jennifer -- Hope that your snow melts soon! My in-laws live in Wisconsin, and my DH was telling me that this year broke a record for them in terms of the amount of snow they got. Your upcoming vacation to NY sounds like fun! How long will you be there for?

Lainie -- Poor Isaac! I hope he feels better soon! He's been sick for so long with that stomach virus! How have *you* been? Are you sleeping better?

Shannon -- ^^^5's on those calf raises! How fantastic! Are you feeling OK today? I'm so sorry to hear that all the computer stuff is causing you so many problems. Have you tried going to a chiropractor or acupuncturist to see if they can help with the headaches? Could the headaches could also be related to your calf problems?

Robin -- Wonder if you're back today . . . we've missed you! How was your trip?

Robin -- Welcome back -- we missed you!! We must have been posting at the same time! Glad to hear that you had such a relaxing time, even if St. John was a bit more crowded than usual. It's probably nice that you ended up with today off; it's always hard to go right back to work after vacation! And congrats on the melting! A week in paradise must agree with you!:)

Good Morning!:)

Robin!:) It is so good to have you back! We all missed you very much. Sounds like your little vacation was fun(?) it was good to get away I am sure, but sorry about the kiddos and the lack of sun. Plus, you melted!:7 How exciting is that, on vacation no less? Was the food yummy? I am happy to hear your knee held up so well, did flying and sitting for a long time bother it at all? Did you find those wedding bands? Did you get a nice tan? When you feel rested, you will have to write a novel for us.:) Good to have you back.

Deb, I am with Shannon on the heartrate monitor. I finally tossed mine too. It was a useful tool for a week or so, I found I needed to push myself a little harder to keep my heartrate where it needs to be on most days. And now that I know how that feels, I no longer need it. And you are so right, the smell of those sunless tanners is weird. The three day Jergens isn't so bad, I actually use mine at night only right before bed so I don't have to walk around all day with that smell. Will work on that with DH! Although, we are not known for our particularly lovely smelling products either.x(

Shannon, we missed you the past few days. Glad to hear the calf is holding up nicely, good news!Sounds like someone needs a good neck, scalp massage....computer tension is horrid, get thee to a massage therapist woman!

Jennifer, sorry bout the snow, all you guys actually! And you are right, I think July 4th is the next holiday isn't it?

Shelley, Mondays are always hard aren't they? Talk to you later when you return..

Lainie, poor little Ewan, I don't know how kids wear those pajamas with feet anyway. They would feel too restricting. Hope Isaac's tummy feels better soon, let us know what the doctor says. How is your Body for Life program going?

Hi to Leanne and the rest who haven't checked in yet this morning.

The guys from SLC are here until Tuesday...DH leaves for Washington DC again Tuesday morning...I will find those few days alone incredibly welcome after all the people we have had around the past month or so.
Today I have legs, will probably go to the gym...still waiting for Auntie Flo here, I swear it needs to start and get over with...okay will be back later guys.:)

Hi again!

I'm at work. Whoo hoo... at least my annoying co-worker is away for two whole weeks!

Jennifer - I'm glad your heat is working! I agree with your no more cold, no more snow chant!

Shannon - the snowbanks are slowly melting. Sorry to hear about that neck tension and resultant headaches. I'm not sure what to suggest, except maybe to try a chiro as Leanne suggested.

Lainie - ugh - nothing worse than kids with stomach issues. Glad you sorted out Ewan's pjs. Good luck at the doctor and let us know what he says.

Robin - YAY! We missed you so much! I'm sorry to hear it wasn't the best ever week, but at least it was a week away from reality:) And good for you for melting!

Leanne - Sophie had her Spring break a couple of weeks ago, but she got Friday and today off for Easter. I don't think the necklace with the cameo is too gaudy - it's beautiful! It must be such hard work doing that amount of detail. Do you use a magnifying glass or anything?

Leanne, I agree with Shelley. The necklace isn't too gaudy. The class sounds like fun.

Shelley, so sorry you got more snow. It's actually sunnier here today than it was the whole week in St John, although the temperatures can't compare. Expect a small package from the islands via PA in a few days. :) We didn't get to any Danish ruins this trip. Too many people. ;-)

tneah, yes, the food is fantastic on St John. Lots of fresh seafood. Our favorite restaurant is the Lime Inn. The owner, Rich, always remembers our names, which makes us feel special. I had a jerk spiced whole grilled pompano that was wonderful. Another place we like to go to is Uncle Joe's Barbacue. It's just a little local stand with a few tables and a grill, but the best bbq chicken I've ever had. And cheap! The two of us can eat there for about $25, while everywhere else is close to $100. I found the ring, but it wasn't the same as I remembered. Since it was also WAY out of my price range, I had to say no. The only jewelry I got was a silver sea turtle charm. I got a good tan, but because of the clouds and rain, neither of us got as dark as we usually do. Probably a good thing though. My knee did well with the "rest." The hardest thing we did was a 6 mile hike that had some steep spots. The walking and snorkeling seemed to really help with my rehab.

Shannon, I'm glad you had a nice long weekend off. Any new job leads? I thought of you, as well as a lot of other Catheland friends, with all the flooding we saw on the news last week. Did you have any trouble?

Well, I think one load of laundry is done and I have to get to the grocery store. Thanks for listening to me drone on and on about my trip.

Lanie - kids grow up fast, don't they? It's kind of sad, but then so cool to see them learning new things.

Robin - YOU'RE BACK!!! I'm glad you had a good time... but I'm sure it would have been better with fewer people. Is there such a thing as an unpopulated tropical paradise? Nope - no new job leads, but then, I didn't look at all this weekend. And we were very fortunate not to have any flooding. The worst of it was to the north of us, and oh man was it bad up there.

Tneah - goodness, I can't imagine having people over all the time like you do. I think I'd find somewhere to hide and let DH handle it. ;) I should try a massage. I should. But I'm chicken.

Leanne - oh, enjoy that spring break and get in lots of relaxation! You deserve it! And yes, definitely do the cameo! I've tried a chiropractor and will never ever go back. I hated it. The best thing I've found is to keep moving, instead of staying at a desk all day... but that doesn't pay the bills.

Shelley - I'm very glad to know those snow banks are melting. Spring will come. Really.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for checking out the necklace with cameo class! I think I will sign up for it! I actually just emailed the instructor for the necklace I'm working on; I'm stuck on this one small, small part of the project, but for some reason the steps aren't clicking in my mind. Ug! I'm hoping she gets back to me soon so I can keep working on it!

Robin -- How great to hear more details about your trip. What a shame that those rings weren't how you remembered them! It sounds like you ate really well! And how great that your knee did fine after that hike! We missed you!

Shannon -- How about a massage, like Tneah suggested? That might help with the headaches!

Shelley -- How nice that Sophie is off today, but too bad you couldn't be home with her!:-( I use my regular reading glasses when beading, along with an Ott lamp, which puts out great light. I also need to be sure to stop and stretch every so often since my shoulders and neck tend to cramp up!

Tneah -- Looks like we were posting at the same time again this morning!:) Is SLC the Stivectin company? How long will DH be gone in DC for? Hopefully he won't be gone too long!

Good afternoon!

Tneah - I missed you earlier! I can't believe Aunt Flo hasn't arrived yet! She's such a witch, isn't she?

Leanne - I've been thinking about getting an Ott lamp for my scrapbooking area. Do you find that it's much better than a regular desk lamp?

Shannon - yes, spring will come. Eventually.:p I think a massage is a great idea!!!

Robin - your trip sounds lovely, even though it wasn't quite as wonderful as you'd anticipated. A package? From the islands??? Ooh, I'm so excited!!

By the way, just to clear something up about the shopping trip on Saturday... my SO was fully prepared to do all he could to encourage me to get something for myself, but I was in a foul mood and just did not feel like shopping at ALL! So we left. It always happens that whenever I go out fully intending to get something at the stores, I can't find a single thing I want. When I go out with no intention of spending any money (like when I have none to spend), I always see loads of things I want.

Hi guys!

Well I finished up my itread workout (thank you Grace) and did my leg workout here at home, it just wasn't a gym type day.

Leanne, I love the cameo necklace...I was daydreaming and saw this Victorian age type lady with light brown long curls in white reclining on a chair in her garden..she is surrounded by lilacs and flowering vines....wearing that necklace. Ahhh...:) I admire the patience and skill it must take to create such beautiful pieces, I actually really liked all of them. And yep, the Strivectin company is based in Salt Lake City.

Robin, your meals sound wonderful. I knew the seafood just had to be amazing! Maybe you can post pics of your trip once you have time to breath?:) Oh, I have been sending product to everyone, would you like to try some of our skincare? Please do, its my pleasure, just let me know your home address!

Shelley, I hate shopping in a foul mood, I actually hate shopping--I only like to do it online. Hate the crowds at store and those annoying people who attack you from those kiosks...trying to get you to try the newest and latest whatever it is they are selling! Why not look around online and choose something nice for yourself? Your package should arrive this week...:)

Shannon, I am chicken too about massages, but once I force myself to get one, I always wonder why I am so skittish? You should try one of those Therma-Care heat wraps, they work pretty good at releasing muscle tension.

Okey dokey, need to shower and traipse back to the grocery store...I swear I live there, but its hard when you eat fresh stuff all the time, you run out pretty quick.BBL...

tneah, Ill pm you my address. Thanks. You know, I didn't take my camera out of it's bag once. I guess after being there seven times, I don't feel the need to take pictures any more. DH took some, but they are all film, so it will be a while till they come back. I'll try to remember to post some then.

Shelley, I think you have to hace the shoppong gene to be successful at it. DD has it, but not me. Rmemember, it's just a small package.

Shannon, you could probably get a massage just on your neck, back and shoulders if you are nervous about the full body thing. I love them, but rarely have the time or $$.

OK, I'm back. I took Isaac to the doctor and she thinks he just has a stomach virus that's going around. That's kind of what I thought, but he seemed so puny this morning I wanted to make sure it wasn't anything worse. Then after the doctor we went to Target and I enjoyed my first post-Lent shopping. :) I didn't go nuts or anything. I got the boys some clothes but most of what I bought was boring stuff like cleaning products and food.

After coming home I have been doing various productive Clean Max kinds of things. I did get a workout in before we went to the doctor--did PUB pyramid up premix.

I am still so tired today, but again it is probably because Ewan had me up a bit in the night. He's napping now, and I guess maybe I should, too. I'm at least resting on the couch as I type this.

Deb, I'm a sunless tanner junkie, too--mainly in the summer of course. I'm hopelessly pale naturally and I have no business even attempting to get an actual tan (and can't, anyway). When I was living in Europe I found one I just loved, but unfortunately can't find it here. :(

Jennifer, I hope you get your wish and the cold stops soon! I always love winter at the beginning of the season and hate it by the end. Summer I pretty much hate the whole time (I'm not a summer person in spite of being born in August in Houston.)

Shannon, congrats on doing all those calf raises!

Robin, glad to have you back and congrats on doing some melting!

Tneah, for some reason my boys usually love their footie pajamas--especially Isaac. It's hard to get him to give them up as the weather warms up. I still like BFL but haven't melted any yet...hope I'm at least building some muscle.

Leanne, hope you enjoy your spring break! I do sleep well, I just don't stay awake well during the day. I sleep fine except when the boys wake me. Sometimes I wonder if I sleep a little funny, though. I can have a dream even if I am only asleep for 5 minutes--and I'm pretty sure that's a bit odd. Oh, and those necklaces are gorgeous--I like the cameo one. I don't think it's too gaudy (depending on what it's worn with, I suppose).

Shelley, I have that exact same issue when shopping sometimes. When I go intending to shop for something specific or even have a gift certificate to use, I can't find what I want. If I am trying not to buy something, invariably I see dozens of things I want. Murphy's Law for shopping or something.

Man, my eyes even hurt, I'm so tired. Argh.

Back from running errands. The guys are staying an extra day, which means DH is not leaving until later in the week.
I got "stalked" by some young man in the grocery store, who kept calling me "baby" and wanted to be "friends".x( WTH?? I told him in so many words I was probably old enough to be his mama and that he had better "bugger off now". It was kinda scary because its Vegas, and weird stuff happens here on a daily basis.

Robin, you should have your package this Thursday!

Ok, off to walk George and attack the cardio again. I am not melting anymore really, am in a holding PMS pattern or something. Everyone notices I am leaner, my DH thinks my butt has more muscle now which is good, but other than that cannot tell a difference.x( All this work, and all I get is..."your butt is really lifted alot"..oh well, I'll take it coming from my sweetheart-the most important person.

Lainie, get some sleep darlin'. Hopefully your babies will let you rest a minute or two.

Hey everyone,

Thanks for the lovely feedback, everyone, on the cameo necklace! I'll definitely sign up for that one tomorrow morning when the class registration starts. It's a pricey class, but it'll be a nice treat!

I just got back from Trader Joe's, where I bought WAY too much stuff. I was trying to buy only healthy food, and I think I mostly succeeded (dark chocolate is healthy for the antioxidants, right?!). Tonight I'm going to try to make a tofu stir fry that was in the latest edition of Clean Eating magazine. We have to eat early tonight (around 5:00) since DH has his Kung Fu lesson at 6:30 and doesn't want to be stuffed. What's everyone having for dinner? Anything yummy?:9

Tneah -- How creepy that that young man was following you around! Are you OK? I bet you look FANTASTIC, and DH just doesn't notice it as much because he sees you every day! Seriously! You've been working amazingly hard -- and I bet you look AMAZING, too! (Besides, the creepy young guy obviously thought so!;-) Yuck!)

Lainie -- Glad that Isaac is feeling better! And hooray for being able to shop again! You must get such restful sleep to be able to dream so quickly! How nice!

Shelley -- We knew that your SO is a sweetie and wanted to get you a b-day treat! Have you thought about something you've been wanting for awhile? It must be Murphy's Law -- there's also wonderful things in all the stores when you shouldn't be shopping, and nothing great when you want something new and exciting! And the Ott lamp really is fantastic -- and could make a great b-day gift! What I like about it is that not only does it help you see the "true colors" of a piece, but it also doesn't get hot like a regular lamp does. Do you have Joann's or Michael's up there? If not, you could try ordering one on-line; I know that Joann's always has them on sale for 50% off.
