Lainie, I'm glad you rested today. Please keep your workouts light until you figure out what's going on with your body. Things like walking and stretching would be good.
Your doc is checking you out from stem to stern! Here's a brief summary of what your tests are for, although Robin can probably give you a better explanation
- A complete Metabolic Panel is a blood test that basically checks your organ systems. This baby checks for everything from liver and kidney disease, to diabetes, as well as your electrolytes (sodium, potassium, etc). This test usually isn't diagnostic, but if anything is abnormal your doc will probably follow it up with more specific testing.
- The lipid panel measures your cholesterol level, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides. I confess I'm not sure what the reflex direct thingy means.
- CBC w/ DIFF (differential) is a complete blood test. This is done to look for things like infection, anemia, and clotting disorders, etc. "DIFF" refers to the various types of white blood cells.
- TSH (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone) is a test to see if your thyroid is doing what it's supposed to do.
Lainie, I'll keep you in my prayers and I sincerely hope your doctor can get to the bottom of whatever it is that's causing your distress.
TK - here's a link to the soup recipe. It's so yummy!! I think I called it Tuscan White Bean but it's called Rosemary White Bean, which is very Tuscan-like
