Kara, you crack me up. I love your new diet suggestion, but being a microbiologist, not much gags me. Of course, there was the time the OR sent a piece of some guy's ankle for us to culture and it had hair on it. That just grossed me out. And occasionally you will walk into our large refrigerator and see a red bag shaped suspiciously like a leg.

Allie-bug, you get bitten because you are sooooo sweet. My DD, who works at a golf course, got poison ivy so bad last week that she ended up going to the doctor. She was very careful this year about avoiding the plant, since she week-wacked some last year. They figured out she got it from the golf course dog, Cubby, who likes to lean against your legs when you pet him.

Morning all! I'm up and shoveling in my cereal. I can hear Sophie upstairs moving around, which is good, because I want to get going early. It's about 45 minutes to an hour to the border and then however long it takes to cross (sometimes a few minutes, sometimes MUCH longer!).

Peggie--turned off the alarm again? That's been me this week too. Don't ask me how I managed to get up this morning. I don't even remember changing out of my pajamas and into my workout clothes. I'm usually still half asleep through the warmup of whatever workout I do...Ugh. But then I have so much energy for the day and I'm in the best mood. So far this week I only managed to get up on Wednesday and today to workout, every other workout was after work, which I hate doing.

My bug bites are still killing me. Ugh. I'm convinced that I must have been bitten in my sleep by something the other night because these bites weren't here the day after Jim and I had ice cream outside. Plus I found a big, nasty bug in my shower last night that I think was the culprit. I flushed him down the shower drain though. Sucks to be him.
Thank goodness yesterday is over. Ugh. I didn't even get home from class until 10:45. I'm beat. But I'm going out to dinner with my Dad tonight which I'm really looking forward to. I haven't hung out with him in a while. Oh, and my mom and I haven't spoken in exactly 19 days. *sigh*

Good morning, everyone.
Oh wow, am I glad it's Friday. I've reached the end of my endurance for computer work and sitting! So don't expect to see me around this weekend. I think computers are a curse upon humankind.
An interesting thing happened last night. I was doing GSL with heavier weights than normal. Everything felt fine. But then as I straightened up from getting my band ready for those leg presses, my lower back threatened to go into spasms. Yikes. My family has a very nasty history of back problems, but so far I've never had any trouble. I immediately paused the DVD and stretched until it felt better. Whew. I haven't had any more problems, thank goodness.
And yes, today is a rest day!
Tneah - I love the boat! You're going to live on it forever? How many square feet of living space does it have? What a neat adventure!
Allie - how are the bug bites? I have that sort of reaction to chiggers (nasty little mite-like creatures that plague us down south). I could tell you horror stories, but I won't. I think Robin told us enough of those yesterday, about the lab specimens.... Whew.

Shannon--ouch about your back! I hope everything's ok. My lower back is not very good. I pulled a ligament a few months ago in April during Imax 2 and it was so painful. It healed after only 2 days or so though. No matter what I do I can't seem to strengthen my lower back. It stinks. Be careful!

Shannon, Ouch! My lower back puts the hurt on me every single morning, it takes about an hour before it settles in or whatever and then its ok the rest of the day. Watch that chica, go get adjusted it really helps keep that spine in proper alignment, I am off to get my own back adjusted today.

Just popping by quickly to say hi - and that I'll miss those of you who are vacationing, computer-avoiding, or otherwise frolicking about. I'll be checking in here and there.
With a gum popping tech and the teeth sucking doc today, so I may fling my body out onto the streets of DFW while this van is in motion.

Lazy Lackadaisical Lainie
Man, I’m tired again. I got up and cleaned out my fridge (the very thorough method of removing things shelf by shelf and scrubbing every square inch) before I even had breakfast. So I found the energy for that but now I’m pooped. I got the kids and me fed and did some laundry already. I also had some cuddle time with Ewan who seems to be in a clingy mood today. Yesterday I did online grocery shopping and it will be delivered today (btw 11 and 1). I’m also waiting for a couple other deliveries, so we’re just going to chill at home.
I think today might be a rest day because I am super-sore and tired after 3-days straight of 4DS workouts. I think my little wonky knees could use a break, anyway. I’ll see how I’m feeling later and maybe I’ll get up and do something, but I can still finish out the 4DS tomorrow.
Robin, enjoy your vacation! You’re going to VA, right? I have a bro. in Richmond—it’s gorgeous down there.
Deb, sorry your post disappeared. I hate it when that happens. I’ve been doing mine in Word first so that helps.

In my case it was mainly the bunion on my right foot that gave me trouble with these. The Studio Mid style must be a little wider there or something. (I know, it’s embarrassing, I’ve had this bunion since childhood—probably from ill-fitting shoes as my feet grew or something.)
Shelley, enjoy your trip today. Will you be hitting a Target? I thought of you yesterday when a very cute young man showed up at my front door. Unfortunately he was not hitting on me but just campaigning for the Working Families Party. Sigh.

I showed it to Brian last night on the computer and he said, “No, I’m not getting that boat.” And I said, “No, I’m not asking for the boat; it’s my friend Tneah’s new boat.” He’s been looking at little kayaks online so I guess he thought I was suggesting he go bigger.

Hi BG! Glad you came by this morning, might be pretty sparse around here this weekend, I am headed back to SD tomorrow if all goes well...hey, I am going to "clean it up" diet-wise myself in honor of your journey with Trainer man...you are inspiring me to look at my diet plan and start cleaning things up a bit, mainly my wine, my goldfish crackers, my peanut butter and fat free ice cream...it always worked for me in the past having a "cheat day", so will go back to that--or maybe a "cheat weekend" so I can enjoy my vino on Friday and Saturday nights, that is when I want it anyway...it does not work for me, having a "cheat" everyday cause I wind up eating too much. Ya know what I mean? It's going to help me, knowing you are on the program working hard, is that weird?
I 'm just doing a little "housecleaning" when it comes to my wild ways lately. Plus, just looking at Cathe in those shorts is enough for me, boy, at 44 years old and looking that good? I may never reach Cathe status, but I can be the best I can be without going too nuts about it--hear that Miss Shannon our calm, cool voice of reason? Love ya sista!

Well, today is shaping up into a slow day. That's okay - it's Friday and I don't feel like working. I seriously wish the Honda dealership would call and tell me my car is ready to pick up. Sigh.

I don't know all of the symptoms, but I know it can be pretty tough to deal with... and very hard to diagnose, since you pretty much have to eliminate all other possibilities first.
Breckie - Ugh. I'd probably jump too, if I had those people riding with me! Does that lead apron block sound? Maybe you can pull it up around your ears. Good luck with Mr. Trainer man... I don't envy you one little bit!

I (and I’m positive I speak for all us melt-o-rama chicks) am so genuinely happy for you and am thrilled that this dream has come true for you and DH. Just to show you how happy I am for you, I’ll be thrilled to come party on the promenade deck! LMAO about the Love Boat. I used to have a crush on Gopher. And nope – don’t think it’s weird at ALL to be motivated by my Trainerman escapade. I obviously was motivated by yours! It’s so nice to know I have support here, I just hope I can do it… and that I don’t make everyone want to string me up by my shoelaces.
Shannon – good call about pulling the apron up over my ears. Might even be a good look too. I brought earphones, because I have to do QA on a trainee’s DVD, so I guess I’ll be uber productive today. I don’t much feel like working today either, but when they bring a patient in and they’re sitting right in front of me, I owe it to them to give them 200%. Somehow it’s not too hard once they board. Just in the meantime, you know? Oooh I can’t wait for you to get your car!!!! I hope they call you soon, too.
Lainie – Shannon’s brilliant. I wonder if that’s the case too! I hate that you’re so tired – and I wish I could give you some help! You’re not lacksidasical. So stop that. Wonder why Ewan is so clingy… That’s sweet, though. Cuddle time is the best. I think it’s a good call to take a rest day. Rest BEFORE your knees make you. J

Deb – that’s happened to me before, too. It is so FREAKING frustrating. I just quit composing in the browser, and cut and paste when I’m ready to post. Otherwise it’s like Tourette’s posting with all the “not nice” words that fly out of my pie hole.

I did Boot Camp yesterday and had to pause a couple times during the aerobic portion and drop down my weights on the bi and tri workout. I agree with Shannon that you should look into CFS. Have you been tested for Lyme Disease? I think that has been linked to chronic fatigue too.

Work has been pretty busy today, but someone in the department is all cleaned up and said she'd cover my work station so I can leave early. Yay. In 30 minutes, I'll be on vacation too.

Yeah, I'm just a little teensy bit excited. I just called the dealership and the guy said it came in late yesterday afternoon. So I also just called my parents. They're going to help me do the auto shuffle. Dad and Mom will drive in, then Dad will drive his truck back, Mom will drive my truck back, and I will drive my car back.
Robin - you have a very nice vacation! I'm so glad you get to leave early. My back does seem a bit sensitive... I did some stretches during lunch and that's when I noticed it. So, no weights this weekend!
Breckie - I'm glad you liked my suggestion. I think you're lucky in a way, since your patients do require 200% - I mean, it must be nice to know that you can jump in and give everything you've got, and know you're truly helping these people.
