Melting 40's - week of July 24th

Hi Jody, The w/o's I use the most in the Intensity series is Imax2 and Pyramids. Muscle Endurance I got as a download and made my own UB premix. Cheating/slogging/rewinding are all fine, we are moving and burning calories, right? I find myself getting the most bored with UB workouts (wish there were more of them). Never read LOTR (lord of the rings, right?). I'm reading a lot of Young Adult books lately (never have read these until I found goodbooks.com) The one I'm reading is interesting but I found one line funny "The guy behind the desk was, like, 40 years old!" Track your Fiction Book Series - FictFact lists series of books so that you don't read them out of order (my pet peeve). They have popular list by genre.

I got to work at home this afternoon. The power went out for 1/4 of the floor and I was in the lucky 1/4 !
 
ha ha Lisa. My girls were playing Sims and had a character whose death they were waiting for- she was a rock star and the limo still came and took her to work everyday even tho she had stooped rounded shoulders and was old and grey. My girls were like,yeah, she's like Madonna. DOH! Have you read any Tamora Pierce?

Its late and I should be in bed with DH but I have a quandary hoping you can help me with, I am suppose to see the therapist to learn how to control my vertigo but today I am not having any for the first time since April should I keep the appointment?
 
Jody, I've never read any books by her.

Roxy, I'd still go, but isn't it frustrating how that works out? It always happens to me, it's like I scared the problem right out of me when I have a dr appt (I hate dr's). Still go is my vote. I had a similar story after my parents died, I was in a major depression (but really didn't recognize it), but the day of my dr appt I didn't feel as bad and I felt so stupid, why couldn't I handle this....I was glad I went, the doctor was very understanding, didn't make me feel stupid. I never thought I would have had to be on anti-depressants but it helped me tremendously for the next year and I wondered why I had suffered for 6 months before I finally went for help.

Today was a rest day. I was just tired and did not want to get up. I feel better that I rested. Yesterday was a cool day - comparatively speaking and it was nice to just be out and not sweating or struggling to breathe.

Jody - I meant to tell you that my "assistants" are 3 and 6. You can imagine the kind of "help" I get when they are around.

Roxy - I too vote to still go. If you don't go, it will come back and then you will kick yourself for not going. Vertigo is not something you want to play around with - certainly not long term.
 
Good Morning, Ladies. Can I join your checkin? I've been doing Cathe since about 1996, I think. I want to checkin with others my age who are doing Cathe workouts. I'm 45. I've lost 15-18 pounds this year and am ready to get a huge amount more off by the year's end. I normally workout 5-6 days a week and have 55 more pounds to loose.

Today's workout was 30/30. I'm following a diet of 1600-1800 calories a day. What eating plan are you all following?
 
Good Morning,

I didn't get my workout in last night DH came home earlier than expected so I spent time with him before he leaves again today. Since I am leaving work early today to go to dr. I will do KCM KBX and Split Sessions Lower Body plus some abs now that I can lay down on the floor I want a good ab workout.

Lisa-thanks for your opinion it just irritates me that it lasted all those months and just when I can get some help it quits.

Murphy-thanks for your opinion.

Mary-I didn't mean to be an enabler when it comes to KCM but she has kind of spoiled me right at the moment.

Shereta-welcome I am not on any particular eating plan just trying to be aware of what I eat and up my cardio.
 
Roxie, I also vote to go. It might just be that much easier to process info anyway if you aren't feeling desperate or scared.

Shereta, welcome. I am new to this checkin, too. I'm also doing WW and doing that check in. I've found it helpful to have them. I mostly do Cathe w/o, dance and sometimes jog.

Murphy, I agree, being rested can make all the difference in how you feel. OMG sometimes it was such a pain to try to w/o with kids that age. Probably the only time I ever got really angry. Now my girls are 18 and 15. Mom is working out--do NOT mess with her. But my Corgis seem compelled to come over and lick my face when I get on the floor for abs. blech.

Mary, how is the floor coming?

Ronne, Yes, I have to love my dad, he does so much to help me, but he sure can be a crabby patty.

Yesterday I did CTX PC, 10x3, abs, back. Later on I did 4 mile walk/jog/sprint with funny walks inserted at the church parking lot and walking lunges rounding out the hour while I waited for DD at her TKD class.

Today will be dance, Tri and Bi from CTX and maybe another cardio but I need to stay in balance time wise so I prob shouldn't.

Jody - wow, you're really hitting those workouts. I feel like I've got a workout just reading what you've done! Yuck, dogs licking your face, :confused:

Shereta - welcome to the group. I'm on an eat what I like plan!! :D Just try not to overdo anything, really.

Murphy - rest day for me too today. Too much work to do in too little time.

Lisa - are you regressing?!:p You'll be dropping teenage slang into your posts before we know it!

Well, no time for a workout for me today (Jody did mine for me, thanks ;)). Just got to clear a couple of projects and I can finally finish. Not quite sure how I'm going to get everything in ...
 
Hi girls! Did upper body only from MM. Basement is now bleached and dry, someone took the carpet (with mold on it) from the tree lawn! I laughed hoping they realize what they got before they put it in their house! Roxie, go to the dr., my DH gets it a few times a year, comes and goes, makes him crazy! Welcome Sherata! I too eat what I want, I'm not good with any restrictions, just do another w/o if I have been really bad! Jody, holy cow! That was some work out! Murphy, cooler here too, the heat and humidity are coming back tomorrow! Lisa, I tried to read Twilight, I remember a line "Bella gazed across the cafeteria into Edward's eyes", I could get no further! Have a good day, Mary. Ronne, I forgot to say hello!
 
whew, I got exhausted reading all the posts! I did Imax2 today, my legs are tired and my quads are exhausted but I got thru, it wasn't pretty though :p

Mary, too funny about the carpet and someone taking it.

Ronne, Young Adult books are much easier reads, there are quite a few I enjoyed and some, uh, well.....like Harry Potter, I could never get into those.

Murphy, enjoy your rest day, sometimes it's what your body needs.

Shereta, welcome! I'm currently trying to lose about 10 lbs (the same 10 I lose and regain it seems), I'd love to lose 15 but I'm taking it in 5 lb increments. I've really watched what I eat and upped the movement in that I try to walk for 3 miles a day in addition to Cathe. As far as eating, I'm trying to eat when I'm really hungry( I think I've been eating pretty good, just too much and sometimes drinking my calories which I've tried hard to stop --- amazing how much 1 glass of wine or beer adds up to, for me) -- hard to do sometimes when you are at work and bored. SO I'll either get water or take a walk to the next building to use the bathroom, stuff like that. Congrats on your weight loss so far!

So, I don't think I've told you girls, DH and I are going to try to climb a 14,000 ft mountain as soon as it cools down a bit. He seems OK with it and we gotta try, right? It's only 7 miles round trip so I think the altitude will be the worst part. Hoping to do this in the next 2 weeks, hope the weather cooperates.
 
Welcome aboard Shereta. I on WW for my dietary plan. Although, I often find Ronne's "eat what you want" plan mixing in. :) Congrat's on the weight loss.

Jody - I agree, OMG with the workouts. I guess Ronne and I can check-off that we did work outs today thanks to you! What are you doing tomorrow? ;-)

Good Afternoon,

Well unfortunately since I am not dizzy there was nothing he could do to help me but he said if it comes back in the next couple of days to call him. I have what they call Begnin Proximatle Postural Vertigo. I am getting ready to go up and start working out. Our new Dick Sporting Goods opened today so I am headed there later.

Jody-my youngest DD rescued a dog from the pound when he was 6 weeks old and then she moved in with a guy that is allergic to dogs so he now lives with us but the point of this being is he is part corgie part beagle funny looking dog.

Tonite I did KCMs Lower Body and KBXing. Well I think we hit a new high today 110 degrees with 111 heat index.
 
I just finished one of the HSC (high step challenge) premixes. I like the whole workout but not the premix. There is no warm-up or cool-down (at least for the shorter premix) and it just cuts to the next activity. There is little to no time to get your weights, step or mat. I have to make a mental note of this so I reach for something else next time.

Roxie - OMG, that heat is just crazy. Are your winters crazy too?

Mary - well, it saved you taking the carpet to the dump - I'd call that neighbourly :p! Are you going to put carpet down again or just leave it?

Lisa - good luck with the climb - I bet you'll get some great photos on that trip.

Roxie - did you treat yourself to anything?

Murphy - I don't have that one as I don't have a high step. I find it annoying when a workout doesn't have all the sections you need in it.

Just a quick workout for me today: Muscle Definition. We're off to a music festival tomorrow till Monday. Keep your fingers crossed for good weather for us as we're camping! We're meeting friends (with kids) there so really looking forward to it. See you all next week!
 
I slept in, so no workout for me today. Yesterday's was Murphy's rest day, today is mine, and then I think Ronne has the next 3 days :D

Good Afternoon,

Its been a busy morning. The weather is a little cooler but the humidity is terrible suppose to storm again today. Tonite for me is KCM Split Sessions Upper Body hoping I can up my wts. since the dizziness appears to be gone.

Mary-I love the whole book club thing makes me laugh every time I read it.

Ronne-well of course I treated myself how can you not in a store like that had a cute Reebok t-shirt for 9.97 and I bought some running shorts Under Armour for 29.99.

Murphy-winters are usually pretty bad alot of ice and snow.
