@@@ Melters! TGIF!! @@@

Hi, I'm back,

I did Pure Strength Back, Biceps & Abs this morning at 4:15.. These are perfect 3 day split workouts, only 43 minutes and you are
done! I think I am going to switch my workouts to the
Pyramids starting Sunday. I will do the total body pre-mix
once, then the upper and lower on 2 other days. This will be
doing each body part twice a week.. although I really like
the leg work in 4DS..

Jennifer:
You sound like you have some fun plans for the weekend!

Shannon:
Wow that sounds pretty scary...I am so glad you made it to work without anything happening...

Lainie:
Our library ( the big one "downtown") has a cafe in it that you can sit at and read magazines etc.. It's great. Glad your heat is back again!

Tneah:
I am sure you are "long & lean"...you beat yourself up too much girl! Stop it! You have worked so hard, and you have to see all the positive things you are doing for yourself..I know right now it's probably the PMS doing this to you. You will be better in a few days, promise!;-) Keep us posted on the book..I will definitely get it when it comes out!

Shelly:
Today is your day off so I don;t expect to see you her early you lucky stiff! I wish we would get some warmer weather here.x(

Have a wonderful day ( especially those lucky enough to not have to work!):)

Deb

Hello Melters.

4AM is WAY too early to workout for me, 6AM is my earliest.

Today is my day off and it's cold and cloudy here.

So, in a few, I'll be going to the grocery store to beat
the Holiday crowds.

No workouts are planned today, but for Sat. AM.

Have a Great Day!!

Hi everyone. I'm so sleepy again. I should probably just stop mentioning it and you can assume I'm sleepy unless I suddenly show up saying "I'm so wide awake today!"

Today will not be an entirely lazy day, but it won't exactly be a challenge. At 11 we're going to a play date with a friend of Isaac's. We've never been to his house and I'm a little worried about how Ewan will do (since he'll be coming along as well). I'm trying to decide if I'll do my workout now or when we come back. It will be some gentle lower body (knees a bit bothersome). I might do the lower body work from Squeeze.

I think I'll do it now, in fact, so I'll go do that now and bbl.

Good morning, everyone!

I'm in a fantastic mood since today is my first day of spring break! Hooray! My DH (who also starts spring break today) and I were going to head up to Los Angeles since there's a Fragonard exhibit at the Getty Museum that I really want to see, but we decided to just make today a lazy day. (He probably won't be up until noon!) I was hoping to be able to sleep in a bit today since I got up at 3:30 yesterday so I could finish some grading before break, but I was up at 6:00 this morning. It's still nice!

I'm a bit sad since our Easter plans just fell through. My Dad and his wife usually do Easter at their house, but they left last weekend on a 45-day cruise, so my SIL was going to do it. She called last night, though, and is really, really sick, so it looks like we'll be on our own and will maybe just get together with my younger brother and his GF.

Even though I'm in a good mood about break, I weighed myself and put on a bit of weight, even though I lost a bit of body fat. I've been staying within my calorie range to lose weight, but I think I may need to cut calories a bit. At this point, I don't want to lose too much more weight, but I do really want to drop body fat. My new Troy Lite barbell should be here on Tuesday, and I'm so excited about it! It was a splurge, but I'm using some "mad money" from some extra stipends I get for committee work. (I run our remedial writing program and get a small stipend each semester, so I try to buy a treat each semester with part of the money!) I'll be doing GS Legs today -- always a killer!

Will Robin be back this weekend? I miss her!

Sorry to ramble on so much this morning!:)

Deb -- Did you sleep better last night? What a bummer about your HRM strap. At least you can make your current one work. Any news about getting a new puppy? You'll have to check out The Kite Runner; it's a dark book, but very good! I really like the PS series, too; I just bought them a couple of months ago, and they're really effective.

Lainie -- You poor sleepy thing! Do you think you can nap after your play date today? Only a few more days until you can shop again!

Tneah -- How are you doing today, chica? Did Aunt Flo finally arrive? That is just so cool that you are almost done with your book! You have to be sure to let us know when it comes out so we can all buy it and brag how we're friends with the author! And thanks again so much, too, for sending us the goodies! I can't wait to get them! I saw your instructions about using them from the other day, and will be sure to follow them exactly. Will you be in Vegas over the weekend?

Shelley -- Hope you enjoy your day off! Anything planned? Did you get up at 4:30 to work out still?

Shannon -- How scary about your drive to work yesterday! A traumatic event like that certainly means more calories!

Jennifer -- Glad you have the day off, too! I always hate grocery shopping before the holidays, so it's nice that you'll be able to get it done early. And enjoy your rest day!

Good Morning All...

I am with Lainie this AM with the sleepy thing. Wow, this month is killin' me here!}( I feel more cheery this morning though which is a good thing. I love Fridays, and the last straggler is going home today so no more running around trying to make sure everyone is fed and happy!

I will be doing back and abs today along with a new Spinervals workout, not sure which one. Yesterday I did "enter the red zone" and they had a bit where they interviewed all the cast, Brenda was one of them. She is such a sweet lady and really funny. You guys must have had so much fun meeting her on the road trip! Or maybe I will do a Grace workout, not sure, will see in about 30 minutes when I am fully awake.

Deb, good grief, how are you strong that early in the AM? I could never do that! I can do cardio early but thats it. I need a few meals under my belt in order to lift my very best. And you are right, I need to quit with the angst, scratch my arse and get glad here. I have my health that allows me to workout this hard, while alot of people do not. :)

Jennifer, enjoy your day, it seems I am always at the grocery store buying stuff. My latest find was orange roughy, the fish? It is so good, its all I have been eating for protein this week.:9

Lainie, You and I could use a good vitamin B shot or something this week huh? I am sure your kids will do just fine, does Ewan have a hard time around other children? Is he shy? I was a shy kid and would hang onto my parents legs when put in social situations. Have fun with the Squeeze, her tricep workout still gets me more sore than any other workout, I love that workout!

Hi to Shannon, Shelley, Leanne, and Emily, Robin will be back next week, it will be fun to hear from her again, hopefully she has pictures!

Okay, time to get roaring, oh, one more thing. Did you guys hear about Maxim magazine naming Sarah Jessica Parker the most unsexy star alive? The nerve of them. How hurtful and mean. I was ready to picket, protest over this one. SJP is smart, funny, classy, killer bod-skinny, but at least she has muscle, and has the most beautiful hair ever. I am so angry over how hurtful that was, coming from a hoochie mama magazine, where the 20 somthings pose in their underwear and are airbrushed.x( The pigs at that magazine really had me pissed off last night...and that was my rant for today!:7

OOPS! Leanne and I who represent the west coast here, posted at the same time again. Leanne, you lost bodyfat which is what you want, skip the poundage thing, seriously! Listen to me talk right? I know how that can mess with the mind. Sorry to hear about your Easter plans going south. Maybe the Easter bunny will leave a bunch of dark chocolate or something on your doorstep.:7

Yes, that is so hateful and awful about the SJP thing! She was interviewed in one of my magazines (Allure, maybe?) last month, and she said that it didn't bother her. I think Tina Fey (who is also so fantastic, funny, and smart!) was voted the same a few years ago. It's just terrible what those awful men's magazines do!

Morning all!

I did NOT get up at 4:30 to work out:p I slept in until 6:30! Got up, walked the dogs, saw my SO out the door (he's at a tournament all day and evening), then did the Bodymax 2 Bootcamp premix. Got Sophie up for her Easter egg hunt, then I made her pancakes and those little sausages for breakfast. I think it's going to be a lazy kind of day (well, for her... my days are never lazy:p).

Deb - I have the PS series but have only done the legs/abs one. I'll have to give the rest a try now that I can lift again.

Lainie - it's almost shopping time! I hope the playdate goes well and Ewan behaves himself.

Tneah - Brenda is a sweetheart in person. All the crew are, actually. When is Aunt Flo scheduled to arrive and give you some relief (at least from the PMS - then you'll get the cramps!).

Jennifer - I find it fascinating that everything in the US is always open. Nothing is open here today, except some restaurants and movie theatres. No stores, no grocery stores, nothing like that. Same with Sunday.

Leanne - nope, not much planned today. I have some cleaning and such to do (as always). Apart from that, just hanging out with Soph.

Hello Everyone.

Yes, today most everything is open here. Good Friday isn't what it used to be. Easter Sunday most of everything will be shut down.

Today is still great although the impending snow storm. Shoveling makes me sick to think about it though.

Loving my Day off!!!

BBL.

I still haven't found my way into my workout room. Contemplating which cardio to do...think I might pull out an oldie but goodie--Tae Bo Ripped!:) Billy always makes me laugh. My "parts" hurt too much to sit on the bike again today, and don't think I am up to hearing Grace this morning or Keith for that matter, and cannot possibly do step, i will trip and break something--one of those days. TOTM starts on the 24th, so I only have a few more days of this "brain fog" and ravenous, grouchiness.

Shelley, what sort of tournament is SO involved in? I am intrigued. Hope Sophie collects lots and lots of eggs (wish I could do an Easter egg hunt!) I wish you would have made me pancakes and little sausages this morning, what a good mama you are!

Okay girls, kick me in my arse, I really need to get moving!}(

Hello Again.

Just got back from Panera Bread, I tried not to think about those pancakes and sausages when I read the post earlier.

It's snowing now.

Seville and Madrid, my two male cats, are happy to have me home today. One perk of this weather.

It doesn't seem like Easter weekend. Too cold and too early.

BBL.

Jennifer -- Oh, I love Panera! What did you get to eat? Hope that that snow doesn't last too long! I love your cats' names, by the way!

Tneah -- Did you get your bootie in to your workout room? If not, I'm sending you Cyber Kicks right now!! Kick, kick! I'm having a little snack and then I'll tackle GS Legs -- my legs are getting tired just thinking about it!;-)

Shelley -- I'm curious, too -- what kind of tournament is your SO in? Hope you and Soph enjoy a relaxing day!

Hey girls!

Jennifer - sorry it's snowing and sorry I tempted you with the pancakes and sausages!

Tneah - get working out, would ya?;)

My SO plays a game called Warhammer, and actually works for the company that makes and distributes this game. Today is their staff tournament. It's the only day that they can do it that everyone can go, because the retail guys wouldn't be able to go any other day. So they start at 9 a.m. and won't be finished until around 8 tonight.

Basically, it's little models that you put together and paint and then play a tabletop strategy game with, a little bit like risk. You have armies and objectives and so on.

If you go here - http://ca.games-workshop.com/news/cn/events/GT-2003-CN/Staff_GT/Chris.htm - you can see a selection from my SO's army from a couple of years ago. The models are about and inch and a half tall, so you can imagine how difficult they are to paint to that level of detail. Anyway, enough bragging. Leanne, I bet your DH, being a D&D player, has heard of Warhammer.

Hey Shelley -- Oh! I remember you mentioning Warhammer awhile ago, but I forgot to ask DH if he's heard of it. When he wakes up, I'll show him your SO's army. It looks like just the sort of thing that my DH would love! Does your SO play D&D, too?

Just hopping in really quickly again because I need to clean house while both boys (miraculously) are napping. Actually, I think Ewan's still awake up there, but he's in his bed at least.

I was mainly worried that Ewan would run around crazily, break things, or beat up his brother. (Yes, it's the 2-year old who beats up the 5-year old.) But as we were driving over there I remembered that often Ewan is better behaved elsewhere than he is at home, and sure enough he behaved very well. Whew. I'm trying to train him not to smack around his big brother (a habit he's recently started enjoying a bit too much).

OK, better go clean--DH comes home tonight and I don't want the house to look like I've been playing Packrat in all my free time this week (which I have).

Oh yeah, finished Squeeze (just lower body and abs). I don't do it often but I think it's great for a change from the norm. I really like the lower body work with my wonky knees as I'm nervous about lunging and squatting with heavy weights.

BBL.

Hello Again.

It's snowing, my yard is covered, my drive way is slick (and really steep) so salt is needed just to get down for later on tonight.

Panera Bread was a tough decision. I ended up getting Chicken Frontega, Cheddar Broccoli soup, and a bag of baked chips. The tuna sandiwch on honey wheat was a close choice since they toast the bread on request.

Shelley-pancakes and sausages. Sound really good. Glad I was strong enough to drive by IHOP this AM.
an intersting tourney your SO is in. Do you play? Is it fun?

Tneah-Did you workout?

Seville and Madrid are still napping. They are quite supportive when I workout and for cat naps. They will be 3 years old in a couple of months but we celebrate their homecoming from the Humane society more.

Saturday s/b Imax2 now, along with Taco Bell and the Melting Pot. Fondue all the way.

I am done!!:7 I am not a nutritionist, but I think I nailed it. After all I do have quite a bit of experience with eating right. I tried to make the meal plans doable for the average woman, clean eats with a few treats!;) Nothing too weird, hardly anyone outside of you guys eats stuff like barley, soynut butter and stuff like that. So they are doable plans with lots of other food options for them to choose from.

I did do my workout this AM, did good ole Billy Blanks Ripped and #2 Coremax...yeah me. Now I am ready to do more cardio and work my back. Good grief. Its funny, when I used to think that workout was hard, but now I have to do jumping jacks to keep my heartrate up in between Billy going on and on about counting, etc....thats cool.

Jennifer, your cats sound like characters!:) I love cats, but we keep our doors open (we live in Vegas and can do that almost year round) for George and the fresh air, and I will not have an outdoor kitty.

Am craving the shugga today, oh boy. Glad I didn't make that bunny cake! Oh, and I have two more guys coming from SLC tomorrow early AM, and staying til next Tuesday.

:-( Thought I was going to have a nice romantic weekend with DH....bought a cute little number to surprise him with--sans the wig..."wig night" requires a trip to a hotel to really make it work right!}( Oh am I feeling randy....:p

I still haven't got much time for personals today but wanted everyone to know I'm reading and wish I had more time to spend here today. Isaac has come down with a fever this afternoon. He'd been a bit sniffly but I didn't think much about it at first until he put himself down for a nap and then woke up with a headache and feeling cold. :( I hope he gets over it soon.

Going to go feed the boys now. Hope to bbl.

Leanne - my SO used to play D&D but doesn't anymore.

Tneah - yay for finishing the book! I bet the nutrition stuff is great!

Jennifer - no, I don't play. I'm not a big geek:p

Lainie - sorry to hear about Isaac! I hope he clears up quickly. Kids usually do.
