**MELTERS! It's Wednesday Get Workin'! **

Cathlete
Good Morning!

Up from doing an I-Tread..I finally got to level 2 Walkers on this one. Usually I can't go as fast as Grace's numbers, but this is an actual walking workout so she isn;t so crazy!

BB in a bit..

Deb:)

Hi I'm back,

How is everyone doing? I am down another 1/2 pound from yesterday..... how did that happen? ( Piggy Pie and all?) It could be the calories. I ate more than normal yesterday, but all good stuff. According to BFFM I am supposed to eat around 1600-1800 calories a day. When I don;t eat junk, I usually am around 1400, so maybe adding a few works like they claim.

Shannon:
Daffodils and Irises all ready? Wow I am envious of you.. we have mud and some dirty snow still hanging around! Glad to hear your calf is better!

Lainie:
Who could blame you for being tired after a night like that! x( . Boston Terriers are so cute! We had one in our dog club that was amazing in agility. Let us know how that kettlebell workout is. I love the picture of Ewan! Adorable! Like the bag!

Shelly:
Nice picture! I like your hair like that, and so easy to take care of. How long is it now? Did you get that wind storm yesterday afternoon?

Tneah:
Get another puppy! Just like George. I did not realize how much fun it was to have 2 dogs. They are a riot! Just watching them play together puts a smile on your face. That's why now we are searching to get another. Kelsey sleeps most of the time and she is so mopey. Your workouts sound a lot like the BFL method ( pyramid) which is my favorite. Don't obsess too much on what those men say. what do they know?

TK:
I hear you on the Firm workouts. I used to do Firm 1 every day when I first got it. Those were very good for the time. They actually got me to start weight training. I think I am going to go for the bob cut too, with a long side bang..we'll see what happens.

Jennifer:
Sometimes you just have to take a break and have a candy bar! Let us know what that gift is. Doesn't everyone love presents! :D I still do my Tamilee Web Abs of Steel as an add on to cardio days..this is the one with 3 different 10 min ab workouts that get progressively harder? I think she is actully wearing leg warmers in this one!

Have a great day!

Deb;-)

Morning all~

I'm feeling vaguely more human today. Got home last night and ran my five miles (it was a hard slog, lemme tell ya). This morning I got up and did the original Bootcamp. It's still among my fave Cathe workouts and the one she signed on the 2005 RT.:)

Deb - we have the mounds of dirt and dirty snow too. Ugh. We got that wind yesterday. Wasn't that crazy? I chose to wear a skirt yesterday and had to hold it while walking around outside:p

TK - my hair isn't like that anymore. Now it sounds like yours. Chin length in the front and a bit shorter in the back with some bangs. I miss how easy the inch long hair was to care for.

Lainie - OMG I adore that bag! That's beautiful. You have great taste:)

Tneah - could it be that DH is jealous of all the time and energy you're putting into your training/eating? Guys are so weird, aren't they? I vote for a friend for George too! My two are very good at entertaining each other.

Eek!! I have to run to the shower!

Morning melters. I had made arrangements to go into work an hour late today, since I have a hair appointment late and hated the thought of hanging around in town with nothing to do. I intended to get up at the regular time and do a CC workout, but had such a nasty night, I ended up sleeping the extra hour. Oh, how I miss those days when a good night's sleep was normal. But I am happy to report that I can walk today. I was afraid after doing a leg workout last night, that it would be hard to move this morning. Maybe the DOMS will kick in later.

Shelley, I'm glad to hear you are in a better mood today.I can't imagine running in the evening then getting up early to do BC. I haven't had the nerve to do that one post surgery yet.

Deb, how old is Kelsey? Way to go on the 1/2 pound. Isn't it weird? I always lose when I least expect it. On the other hand, I don't lose when I've struggled for a week or so.

tneah, two dogs George's size?!?!? That sounds dangerous.

Leanne, how was your crazy day. Does it feel like you didn't have any time off?

Time for me to run. I'll try to get back later for more personals. Probably no workout for me today. I won't be getting home till dinner time.

Hello Melters.

Today, it's 21 degrees and frost. It's supposed to be spring at 42 later today. No snow, that's the important thing right? Even though it's April.
CTX comes today. I will be previewing it with Seville and Madrid. Seville got me up right at 7am. He landed right on my chest, then started purring, then Madrid came too. I vaccumed last night, which they can't stand the noise. In my front room, near the dining room table, I vacced up the remains of a little mouse.

Tneah-Please send us pics of both dogs.

Shelley-Send some of your energy my way.Please.

Biggest Loser was good last night.

Have a Great Day!

Howdy, Melters!

Last night I did CC PP, since I had to skip it on Saturday. What a great workout! My elliptical always gives me outrageous readings on that one. But the true indicator is that puddle of sweat on the floor. :p

Today will be a rest day since the farrier comes after work to trim the horses' hooves. And tomorrow will also be a rest day since I have to go grocery shopping! Two in a row - yuck. But I'll survive. :)

Deb - my theory on weight loss is that if you try too hard, your body resists. Kind of like when you're trying to think of a word that's right on the tip of your tongue and it just won't come... but hours later when you've forgotten about it, it just pops into your head. What do you think? ;)

Shelley - I'm glad you're feeling a bit better today. Though how you can feel that way when you did BC first thing, I just don't know. ;)

Robin - it sounds like your knee is healing quite well if you're doing leg workouts. How does it feel? I'm glad you got an extra hour of sleep this morning.

Jennifer - what a way to wake up! I'm afraid that if my cat tried that with me, I'd whack her onto the floor! Of course she never will, because she's an outside cat.

TK - I wish I could wear my hair short - it sounds so nice for the summer!

Happy Hump Day, Melters!

I missed you all yesterday! I just got caught up reading yesterday's thread over my morning coffee, and it seems like it was a busy day for everyone! Monday ended up being such a crazy day for me -- I had to do work until 8:15 that night to get ready for teaching this week. Isn't it hard being back at work after a week off?! I did get a nice bit of news yesterday; I've been nominated for our teaching award. I was a finalist a few years ago, which was nice. I'm not putting too much stock in anything, though.

Starting on Monday, I made the momentous decision to NO LONGER COUNT CALORIES! I've been obsessively logging my calories on-line since August. It has helped me lose these 15 pounds, but I'm at the point where I feel like I'm still obsessing way too much. I'm going to try to stop counting and see how I do just by monitoring how much I eat and by doing my regular weigh-ins on Fridays.

Oh, I just love Tamilee Webb! I was actually doing her I Want that Body workouts a lot before, like Lainie, I discovered Cathe last year, too! Of course, it all started for me when I was 15 and started doing Jazzercise . . . ah, we really do need to get out those legwarmers, don't we (just not the shiny thong leotards; I never had any of those!)?!

Deb -- ^^^5's on the melting! How fabulous! It does sound like you need more calories; maybe you're eating too few, so your body is hanging on to the weight. I hope it works out for you to get one of Izzy's puppies!

Shelley -- I'm so glad that you posted that photo! You are just ADORABLE and HOT, girl, and you really do look like Selma Blair! Isn't your hair in an A-line bob now? I'd love to see it! Is that nasty co-worker still gone this week?

Robin -- Spring break already seems ages ago! Sorry that you had such a rough night of sleep. Yes, on T/TH it's hard for me to check in with our group since I'm on the go all day, either teaching or in office hours. When I get home, I just crash since I'm at work for about 11 hours.

Lainie -- What a great purse -- and Ewan is such a cutie! Sounds like yesterday was a rough day. Did you get more rest last night?

Jennifer -- How awful that you have those terror dreams! Sounds like the day of rest yesterday and the chocolate were just what you needed! Are the cats behaving better? I hope that raise comes through for you tomorrow! Keep us posted!

Tneah -- Sorry that Mitch isn't giving you the support you need! Are you doing OK today, chica? You don't look sunken at all, but perhaps Shelley is right that he's jealous of all the time you're spending on your training. Do you think that's the case? Take it from us, though -- you look AMAZING! And I also vote for a friend for George!;-)

Shannon -- How GREAT about your calf! That is just so fabulous that it's feeling better! How did yesterday go with your co-worker leaving? Any news about those positions you applied for? I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for you!

TK -- Your hair sound adorable! Photos?! How's work going? Will you get that comp day soon? Sounds like you definitely need it!

Good Morning Everyone!:)

Well, guess what? Auntie Flo made an appearance last night.:) I am actually happy, and remember that my cycle kinda goes backwards in the spring pushing it to the first of every month, so I am actually right on schedule for this time of year. A good thing, because I like routine, and my cycle is like clockwork, so obviously, I "jumped the gun" here. It was weird, because I knew I was going through your typical PMS things like bloat and cravings, but still no period. So there ya have it.:) Sorry, if I just shared way to much about the inner workings of my system.;) I have to cancel my hair appt. today, because, well, I have pretty bad ones and cramps too. I don't care this month, I am normal!:7

Deb, I wish DH would agree that another dog would be a great idea, but honestly? Another 155 pounder would make my heart sing, but when we do things like drive down to the boat in SD, where do you put two Newfs? Which itread did you do? I know, there is one where Grace tells us walkers to crank it up to 5.0 or higher! What, are ya kiddin' me? Congrats on the poundage loss.

Robin, how come you are sleeping badly? And have fun at the hair salon today, will be thinking of you, as I look at my own grey roots in the mirror this morning.;)

Shelley, I like Bootcamp too. And I remember your new haircut from a few months ago, it was adorable, so you are dear lady! You have a very cool, "pretty indie girl" look...

Leanne, congrats on the nomination girl! That is wonderful, I always figured you were the bestest, most popular teacher ever! And we did indeed miss your smiling face around here yesterday.

Shannon, I am totally with you on the weight loss thing, when you do not focus your attention on it, it just happens, well, at least that has worked for you guys. I need to employ the same attitude. Sounds like you have a renewed sense of excitement with your workouts, that is awesome!

Jennifer, your cats have cute names. What sort of mouse did you vaccumm up? Remains of a real one? God forbid, or a toy mouse?

Lainie, love the purse! How cute is that? How you feeling this morning? I actually think WW is a good program, easy to follow right?

Okay kids, not sure if I am going to attempt cardio today, I take the Wednesdays off from the weights, I might pop some painkillers and march on, it might make me feel better, nothing too crazy though.BBL today...

Hi again!

My boss is grumpy today. I hate it when he's grumpy. He's old. So today he's a grumpy old man. Ugh.

Robin - sorry about the sleep. Nothing is worse than sleep deprivation. I hope you can get to bed early and get better sleep tonight. OH OH OH and my package came! Thank you SO much. It's absolutely gorgeous. I think I actually gasped when I opened it!

Shannon - isn't Coach Sean just so inspiring??? I love it when he tells me that I look good}(

Leanne - hooray for not counting calories! And congrats on the wonderful award nomination. You totally deserve it:) *blush* Well, thanks for the compliments. My co-worker is still away. I don't want her to come back:(

Tneah - well, dang! I'm glad Aunt Flo arrived and put you out of your PMS misery and into other kinds of misery:p I agree that two Newfs would be a lot, but you don't have to have two of the same kind of dog.

Okay, I'm posting a pic here of what my hair looks like now. It's a bit longer than in the picture, but you get the basic idea.

http://pic18.picturetrail.com/VOL929/3430770/7047210/277997642.jpg

Shelley, yes! That is the picture I remember you posting! You are so pretty, can we call you our "indie pretty girl?":D Your eyes are so big, makeup must look amazing on you. Where are you standing anyway?Just curious. And I cannot believe you are 41 or 42, whatever...you look like you are 25 years old! Good genes there girl.

Love the haircut. I had mine cut into the 'Katie/Suri Holmes/Cruise cut before she did it, after I took my extensions out. Now its grown out and my bangs are getting really long which is strange for me, I always keep them cut, I think I have a huge forehead so I like to keep it covered.

As you can see I haven't made it into the workout room--yet.;) waiting for the ibuprofen to kick in...Okey dokey, here I go...

Oh, Shelley -- You look so adorable with that cut! Like Tneah said, you definitely look much, much younger -- like 25! The haircut -- and you -- look fantastic! Boo for your grumpy boss -- but at least the nasty co-worker is still not there!

Tneah -- Hooray for Aunt Flo arriving! Sounds like you should take it easy today. Can you make today a rest day so you don't have to deal with those cramps? I bet your hair looks great, too! I love that little cut that Katie Whatsherface has! You probably look great in it!

Hooray -- the doorbell just rang and I think it's that new PVL PB Choc protein powder I just ordered (the one that everyone's been talking about). I was hoping it would arrive before my weight workout today so I could try it out afterwards!

You guys are crazy!! 25? Uh, I don't think so:p I turned 44 last Friday.

Tneah - I love the Katie Holmes cut and thought about getting that one myself. How did the workout go? Oh, by the way, I'm standing in my bathroom, which I hate and is being completely gutted soon. Who the hell would pick brown and peach as bathroom colours? With gold-veined vinyl flooring, no less. Ugh.

Leanne - let us know how the protein powder is (if that's what it is that arrived with the doorbell:p).

Just popping in quickly to say "hi". I had to go back to ATLoft today and get slightly smaller jeans (I'm not as big as I'd thought). I also managed to swing through Target again though I mainly just got food there. Oh and some workout clothes, almost forgot about those.

Anyway, can't talk long because I need to do my workout still--planning to do Jari Love's Get Ripped & Chiseled today. I also have to do some laundry (neverending chore around here).

Hope to bbl and do some personals then.

Jennifer, LOL at the little mouse parts. Every now and then our cats will leave us a "gift." I read in a Cat Fancy magazine they when they leave you a mouse, they are trying to teach you how to hunt. That's what mama cats do with their kittens.

Shannon, sorry you have to miss two days in a row, but that happens. My knee is doing OK. It feels different, but doesn't really hurt. I'm trying to make myself increase the leg workouts. The doctor told me I will feel it less as my leg muscles get stronger and my knee does less of the work.

Leanne, good luck not counting calories. And great news about the nomination! I remeber doing Buns of Steel with TammiLee, oh, so many years ago.

tneah, I'm sure the bad sleeping is due to menopause. I wake up, wonder why, then the big old hot flash hits. Last night I just couldn't get back to sleep. After the hot flash, my restless legs tingled and twitched. Glad to hear you have a visitor and are normal!

Shelley, I'm glad you like it. I'm sorry I didn't wrap it. I was in such a hurry to get it in the mail, that after I found a box, into the mailer it went! I can't see your now picture here at work, but I loved the short, short hair too. I'm not brave enough to go that short. When do you start working on your bathroom? I'm starting to think seriously about our kitchen. It really needs a redo. Then I think about all the $$. Sigh.

It's been really busy here at work today. Besides being sleep deprived, I have this nasty rash on my back, right where my stupid uniform pants with the elastic waist sit. I had a coworker tape a bandage on it, it was so painful. I have no idea where it came from either. I'm wondering if I brushed against something nasty on a hike in St. John. I did a culture on myself yesterday, just to make sure it wasn't MRSA. It wasn't.

Shelley, you are so NOT 44! I demand to see proof of this!:) Your hair would be cute cut like Katie Holmes, mine looked ok, but I have a square face and it was too harsh I think, so I let it grow out.

Leanne, hope you like the PB flavor, remember to use lots of ice when making your shake if you like it nice and thick, I learned that right away, its not quite as thick as the Lean Dessert.

Lainie, see? You are so funny, we always think we are bigger than we really are. New workout clothes? How fun!

I managed a 60 minute itread, number 4 I think. Now its shower time and lunchtime for the boys, have to go fetch them "In and Out Burgers!

Leanne - Congrats on your big decision! Think of all the time it will save, not logging in your calories every day. :D I hope you don't have to pull too many more late-nighters. Ugh. No word about any of my job applications yet. Yesterday went okay... it was sad, but as far as I know, nobody shed any tears. Now the fun begins, since we two remaining writers have divided her workload between us!

Tneah - Yay for Aunt Flo! I'm relieved for you, too. She's a real pain in the patooty, but usually her absence means trouble, you know? Did you decide to do any cardio? I wish you weren't so achey.

Shelley - has the boss degrumped yet? Oh yes, Coach Sean is great! I like it when he calls me Flash Lightning. Sometimes it makes me giggle, because I'm so slow! And I agree with Tneah - you're a young-lookin' gal.

Lanie - see? You do NOT wear fat jeans. Didn't we tell you that? :p

Robin - yikes! What's the rash look like? Is it going to blister? How utterly miserable. I'm not too terribly worried about the extra day off. I'd planned to skip upper body this week anyhow, to give my "mouse" shoulder a rest. I'd just hoped I could enjoy the day off instead of work, you know. Oh well.

Tneah - I so AM 44. I've actually had guys in clubs demands to see my ID because they didn't believe me. But then again, you know how dark it is in those places:p

Robin - it's fine that it wasn't wrapped. It's truly gorgeous. So summery! I can't wait to wear it. And I'm just betting Sophie will want to borrow it:p Well, here's the thing with the bathroom. We only have one bathroom with bathing facilities, but we have a small bathroom in the basement that has all the plumbing roughed-in for a shower. So.... I'm waiting for a plumber from work to come and do the plumbing part of it, then Chris and I will do all the tiling, etc., replace the lovely purple toilet. Once we have that done, we can rip out the main bathroom and finally use that custom vanity I got from work. I love working for a builder sometimes:p

Yes ma'am!

So. Um. Hi everyone! Long time no chat. Shelley told me you all missed me. I think she's lying. :p I miss you guys, but I haven't posted for so long, I feel like a total outsider. And I suck at melting. I've lost a couple inches here and there, but I'm kind of in denial that the trend will actually continue.

Anyway, enough about me. :)

Deb, congrats on the weight loss! :D

Shelley, glad you're feeling better today. Bootcamp ROCKS! And I just love your hair like that! And I agree that you look much younger than you are - you lucky dog!

Robin, I'm glad you are able to walk... so far. }( I'm planning a leg workout for this evening. As long as I'm able to move again by Saturday (for my 5k), that's all that matters! ;) I'm sorry your uniform pants are irritating you today. I'm glad you don't have MRSA. And how utterly bizarre that you're able to check yourself for MRSA right on the spot. :)

Jennifer, have fun with CTX - lots of great workouts in there!

Shannon, I'm so jealous that you got to do CC PP! I miss CC so very much. If my 5k goes well on Saturday, I may start working some CC back into my routine. We'll see... speedwork and hillwork are what got me into the sciatica mess in the first place, so I'm a little gunshy.

Leanne, good for you for deciding to not count calories! I had to make the same decision. It was become such an obsession and a pain in the butt for me.

Tneah, I'm glad(???) that AF arrived. ;) (I'm never glad when my AF arrives!)

Lainie - hooray for having to buy smaller jeans!!! :D That's always a good feeling.

Alright, I think I got everyone. Whew! :D
