***MELTERS do lunch-Wednesday***

So tell me how a person can wake up at 2am, be wide awake, and toss and turn for an hour, then wake up again 15 minutes before the alarm is set to go off, roll over and fall back into a deep sleep? Huh? Can you tell me? Huh? Another thought: if Obama or McCain found a way to harness the energy of a night sweat or a hot flash, we would no longer be subject to the whims of the middle east oil mavens. Yes, I had another tough night.

I was a little disappointed yesterday. DH made reservations for our weekend get-away in the Finger Lakes and we discovered it is the weekend of the big Wine Festival. We've never gone before, since it always seems to fall on a weekend I work. I was really looking forward to nice leisurely drives from winery to winery, but now we will be spending Saturday at the Wakins Glen International Speedway, shoulder to shoulder with drunken hordes. Well, maybe it won't be that bad. We'll have to see.

Shelley, how's things in the pit this morning? Is the sun starting to peek through the clouds yet?

Shannon, how'd the car shopping go?

Tneah and Leanne - LUNCH DAY!!! Have fun, hug and laugh lots, and share pictures, please.

Leanne, did I see that your BIL got a temp job? Yahoo!!!

Hi to Deb, Lainie, Peggy, Breckie, Allie, Kristi, Kara (I know, I know) and Linda (?) Hope I got you all. I need to make a list of everyone and paste it to the computer. I'll see you later, from work, unless the forums go down today. Anyone see any word on when that happens? Taa.

Good Morning Robin and all that follow...

Yes, I can tell you how someone wakes up at 1:30 and has a hard time getting back to sleep...it's called THE SPITFIRE syndrome!

No workout for me this morning..x( Sorry to hear you will not be at the Fingerlakes when it is nice and quiet..where do you stay when you go there? We stayed in Canandaiqua (sp) ( the town on Lake Canandaiqua), one year at the Oliver Phelps House...a beautiful B&B..

BBL

Deb:)

Morning Deb, Robin and all who follow~

Ugh, Robin, I feel your pain. I had a hard time getting to sleep, and then I tossed and turned all night, and woke up with massive head and back pain. Thank goodness for Advil. I hope the drunken hordes aren't as bad as you're anticipating.

Shelley, sorry for your aches and pains. I frequently end up getting out of bed to find an advil. Yeah, I hope the crowd isn't too "crowdy" or rowdy.

Deb, LOL at the Spitfire syndrome. Sometimes it's the Baby Boo-hoo's here, but more often the night sweats. We seem to stay at different places everytime. I like to stay in Geneva, if possible, but we're staying in Corning this time. We're not socible enough to do B&Bs. Give me a nice, impersonal hotel every time.

Mornnig Melters-

Did S&H shoulders and pyramid stability ball legs and some abs. Today am going to the gym for cardio, probably eliptical.

BBL chicks.

Leanne - I totally missed that BIL got a temp job. Woo Hoo.

You and Tneah have a great day today. Give her big hugs from me.

BBL

Robin - sorry you had such a crappy night.

Deb - you need some sleep too it sounds like.

Good morning Melty Maidens. I’m having another sleepy morning. I wanted to get my workout done this morning, but DH is still here. I love my DH and we get along well, but I find it irritating when he goes in to work late. I mean, it won’t affect his job at all; he’s a partner in his firm and he’s going to a client’s office and doesn’t have to be there at a particular time, but I don’t like my daily routine thrown off. When he goes in later he sits in front of the TV in the living room, where I like to work out. At least it won’t take me long to set up today since I’m doing KPC—just have to move some furniture out of the way but don’t have to bring any step or weights out. Is it terrible that I am annoyed when he stays home too long?

So I have some shoulder DOMS from yesterday’s Slo-Mo Back & Shoulders workout, so I hope it doesn’t hurt to do my punches today.

Another plug for the backup forum: http://fitnessfig.forumer.com I wonder if they’ll give us a little warning the day before they take down the website here?

Robin, sorry you had such a rough night. ((((HUGS)))) I went to bed around midnight, but woke up a while later realizing DH wasn’t in bed yet. I came downstairs to make sure he hadn’t fallen asleep in front of the TV (a rarity, but it happens). It turned out he was still watching the All-Star Game which went into many innings.

Deb, so I take it the puppy made your sleep less than perfect? How’re you feeling now?

Shelley, you too? Maybe we should all give up and go back to bed. If only we could!

Peggie, well, someone got up and worked out—you go, girl!

OK, bbl to catch up with everyone else.

DH finally left a few minutes ago so I should be able to work out soon (after breakfast settles a little more—since DH was home so long I went ahead and ate instead of waiting until after my workout).

Good morning all! I have the day off today – and boy, I needed it. I don’t really know what’s going on with me. I’m just so freaking tired. And I’ve not been my usual workout self. That’s been going on for oh… a few months now. Maybe 3.  While I’ve worked out, I haven’t with any sort of regularity, intenisty or passion. This is unusual for me, because typically I’m a serious workout queen – the harder the better! I rarely missed a workout, and if I did, there was GOOD reason. Not really sure what’s up or what to do. I slept in this morning (730!! ) and plan on a workout this afternoon. I decided to just take my time today and WASTE as much time as possible. Seems I haven’t had any down time in quite a while.

Tneah – Hope you’re feeling better this a.m. Got a very timely response back from Tina (right, not wifey-poo… don’t know where I got that idea). I would like to pick your brain a little more about it, but now is probably not the bestest of times. ;) Have major big fun today! Drive safely! ((((((HUGS))))))

Leanne!!!! WOOOO HOOOOO on the BIL news!!!!! http://planetsmilies.net/party-smiley-559.gif http://planetsmilies.net/party-smiley-7483.gif http://planetsmilies.net/party-smiley-543.gif
And I hope you and Tneah will have a wonderful time. I know you will! I can’t wait to hear all about it. Yes, I’m seriously considering Tneah’s Mr. Tranierman. I have to get the above fixed first though I think, because there will be no excuses after I plop down the cash. I need to do it soon though, because I seriously don’t want to be in the throes of it come holiday time!!!!

Deb – sorry about the Spitfire Syndrome. How’s the yogurt working? Any more upset tummies? If you don’t work out in the morning, do you fit one in at night, or is this a rest day? Are you going on a RT? Which Melties are?

Robin – ITA on the B&B. 100%. When I’m away, I just want to be away. Gosh, I hate it that you had such a rough night. Makes the day a little tougher. *passes her the cup of joe Tneah started* And maybe going during the festival will mean lots more local art and such! At least you’re going once – then you’ll know for sure if you want to do it again. You will have fun no matter what!

Peggie – How’s kicks? How long do you w/o in the mornings before work? About an hour? Hope you have a great day at the FBI today! :)

Shelley – Sorry you had a rough night! *passes Shelley coffee too, but with a little whipped cream for whimsy*

Lainie – Glad about the lipstick. I finally can wear mine too. I have pretty full lips, and now that I have these braces, they’re even fuller. I say I feel like Bubba Gump. I haven’t ventured into gloss yet. But my lips get “sucked” to my braces, and it HURTS. x( I think I probably should be drinking more water or something. Sorry about your morning routine. I’m the same way. (is that the J in us???) Have fun with KPC. I love the “jab-cross-hook-upper-pop-pop-duck”. I used to have it as my signature line. Makes me really feel like I can kick butt. :D

Morning well-wishes to everyone to follow. :* Allie, Kara, Kristi – and yes, where’s Linda?

Good morning, all you wonderful gals -

So, I bought the car. It's a Honda Fit Sport. The thing is, though, I won't get it for about three weeks. Those cute little devils are being sold faster than they can get them in... but at least the wait isn't as long as people have to wait for hybrids. The Fit is exactly what I want, and I can't wait for it to get here!

I did Step SweatFest when I got home... I really needed to burn off a bit of excess energy!

Oh shoot, I'm hungry. I've already eaten some cantaloupe and a muffin. I'm thinking that THE HUNGER may be here. Not good. I don't have nearly enough food to get me through a day of THE HUNGER.

Robin - Sorry about your craptastic night. Maybe you'll be so exhausted tonight that you'll sleep like a rock. My fingers are crossed.

Deb - how long will it take for the little Spitfire to outgrow this very bad midnight habit?

Shelley - has the Advil kicked in yet? I had to get up in the middle of the night and slap an icepack on my hip flexor. I don't know why it started hurting!

Peggy - yesterday you asked where I got my bras. I got them at Kohl's. They're the Warner brand.

Lanie - maybe when DH leaves late, you should make him turn off the TV and take the time to visit. I know sometimes it's hard for couples to do that with their busy schedules, kids, etc.

BG - enjoy your day off! I hope you get rejuvenated and re-energized. It sounds like you've got a great plan to just take it easy!

Leanne and Tneah - oh boy, enjoy your day together! I expect a full report! :7

Hi, all,
I'm super sleepy today b/c DH & I were up very late. He was working and watching the All Star game to the bitter end, and I was working on my volunteer stuff and battling computer transition issues. I'm sorry to keep complaining, but the volunteer job that I have is a large, involved job that depends almost entirely on my computer.

I'm planning to do Imax3 this morning. I can't decide if I like it or if the dread factor is too high. Lots of DOMS from yesterday's workout and from B&G on Monday.

This afternoon my parents and DDs will be stopping by on their way to their conference to drop off their dog. UGH, UGH!!! It's a shih tzu, and it's perfectly fine in its own home; I'm just really not an indoor dog person. (No offense whatsoever to those of you who are!!!) It will only be here until Saturday, but it will be back in August for THREE WEEKS!!! I know -- it's probably better than Leanne's BIL, but I bet she doesn't have to remember to take him outside to potty. Hey, Leanne, can I just send the dog to stay with you?}(

Robin -- I'm so sorry you had such a yucky night! The Wine Festival could be fun, but I understand your disappointment. Let us know how it goes. I wish I was there to go with you. I thought about bringing you a bottle of Texas wine to RT, but I'm really going to try to carry on my luggage so they would confiscate it. :-( Believe or not, the Texas wine industry is really improving, and there are a couple that aren't half bad. I hope you have a decent day despite the lack of sleep.

Deb -- you, too, on the bad night's sleep??? I'm sorry! That little spitfire is indeed like having a baby.

Shelley -- just sending more warm thoughts and positive vibes for feeling better! I'm sorry.

Peggie -- good job on your workout! Do you do weights and cardio every day? Cardio at lunch, right?

Shannon -- car photos????

Leanne -- yippee for BIL's job!!!

Tneah & Leanne -- Have a ball!!! Eat something delicious!! Laugh a lot and obnoxiously loud! What time are you meeting? I want to be sure I'm front and center in spirit.:D :D

Lainie -- You're here early. Oh, ITA about DH going in to work late; it just messes up my groove! I'd NEVER say it to him, though!!! There are just places I don't go with the sole breadwinner. :) Funny that your DH was up watching the game, too. I was in the room with it until the end -- I thought it would never end! When we finally went to bed, DH was sitting in bed drinking a glass of water with the TV still on, and I finally said, "Could you please hurry?" It was almost 1:15!!!

BG -- Enjoy your day off!!! Take it easy and get some rest. Have you considered that you might be overtrained. A few days (maybe a week) of no workouts might really do you good. I know it's hard to not work out, but it sounds like your body is trying to tell you something. (yeah, yeah, enough lecture) :)

Allison -- how was your evening?

Hey, I just got RT email saying the forums may go down today!!!

I hope I got everyone! Hi, Linda, if you're still with us.

Hi, Shannon -- we were posting at the same time! Congrats on the car!!!! Hondas are great -- we've owned four. Sorry about THE HUNGER! I hate those days!

Morning All:)

Well it seems the bad sleep thing is going around. I was fine until about 4am when DH woke me up with a scream and a swift kick in the ribs! Gee dude, talk about adding "injury to insult!";( Actually he was having a horrid nightmare, he then asked me not to sleep so far away from him (ah, I felt so bad, it was a scary dream) so we snuggled back to sleep...he is still asleep and I of course woke up at my usual 6:15.It did give me some insight into his behaviour lately.

Robin, shoot, I wish you guys didn't have to run shoulders with the drunkards either, and LOL about not being social enough for a bed and breakfast!:7 Sounds like us, we would never, ever do that!LOL about your Obama/MCCain comment..:p I bet you will still have a blast though, just start drinking that morning and by the afternoon, you will not care where you are right?:p Kidding of course, have never understood those who drink on vacation as soon as they get up until that night, its pretty popular in Vegas actually.Crazy tourists.

Deb, Keegan wakes you up to potty in the middle of the night? Oh dear. Oh, wanted to tell you I taught Georgie a new trick called "shy dog. He lays down and rests his head between his paws after I tell him "Georgie, shy dog!"I knew you would understand how exciting this is to me.

Shelley, morning sunshine!:p

Peggy, you got a early workout in today, now no worries about it later, how wonderful!:p

Lainie, no, I hate it when my own routine is upset in anyway. Especially when it comes to my workouts, I cannot stand it. I find if I do not get that workout earlier in the day, then its almost impossible later on as the day gets busy. Kick him off the couch and make him feed and water the boys while you workout.}(

BG, Oh please woman, ask away! I am curious? Tina has been married for 18 years, and not to Kim, I thought that at first too. But she is a doll. After my program, I sent both her and Kim flowers, and she was just so sweet about it. Kim' wifey sells the Isagenix cleanse stuff, or at least I think its her, the last names are the same. Whats up with the tired? Are you taking enough iron stuff? I tend to be anemic, and when I start craving ice (a weird symptom of anemia for me) I know to add a little iron. I am sorry, but braces just sound painful all around, do not know how you all are standing it. Were your teeth that crooked? Crooked can be cool, look at Kristen Dunst.:7

Yeah! Lunch with Leanne today. I am excited and nervous, I am so blushy and shy at first, but it'll be great fun! And we promise to take pictures, I am bringing my camera.:7

Kristi and Shannon, you all snuck in on me! Congrads on the new car Shannon! Kristi, whatta ya nuts? Imax3 after those other workouts? Whew. I would opt to go back to bed for a few..;)

Shannon, whoo hoo about the new car! Three weeks will fly by.

Kristi, :( about the wine. I would love to try some from TX. When we visited my sister in NE Washingon, we bought almost a case of wine and had to check it on the airplane. Luckily, we were able to buy a special case at one of the wineries and it made the trip safe and sound.

BG, sorry to hear about your fatigue. Do you take any rest periods? I mean more than a day here and there. I usually have a week free of workouts when we go on vacation and find myself really looking forward to my workouts when we get home. Maybe you need to take a rest week.

Oh no. I don't get email here at work, so SNM can't notify me. I guess I'll keep posting till I can't, then catch up with you all on Lainie's forum at home. I'm looking forward to seeing what the website changes will do for me!

Kristi – I feel the EXACT same way about IMAX 3. I can’t decide if I just really like it, or if I just really dread it. No worries about the lecture! I actually appreciate it! ;) I wish it were overtraining. But 3 months of being wishy-washy (including one of those months being virtually workout free) leads me to believe I’ve just gotten out of the habit and am just being lazy. Part of it might be I’ve worked out so hard for so long (so I think) and just don’t have the results I “want.” That’s why I’m getting ready for the Tneah’s Mr. Trainer program. He can take me there. I just really want to see what it takes. I see lots and lots of people who have it, and I just wonder – HOW did they get it? Where am I falling short?

Shannon – new bras and a new car???? THERE IS NO STOPPING THIS WOMAN! Congrats. Those are 2 pretty serious purchases! Can’t wait to see pics. I’m really so happy for you! How are the horsies doing??? Do you live on that property all by yourself? What’s up with that hip flexor? Mine can be cranky, too.

Tneah – no, not really crooked. I had 2 teeth that were a little “out of line” on the top that I just wanted fixed. My dentist (who I absolutely love and respect) said he really wanted me to check with ortho before we discussed a veneer or 2. So I did. Turns out those teeth are only a minor issue – and that my bite is off and wearing down my L jaw bone at the joint. He showed me the x-rays, and it looked a little scary to me. I took them to a life-long buddy of one of the docs at work (who is a maxillofacial surgeon) and he said that braces might be a good idea. Probably would prevent future TMJ and possible surgery if it got too bad. Braces can fix the crooked offenders easily, but it will take awhile to realign my jaw and bite. Braces are required for that. x( (So I get to wear rubberbands!!! Oh fun.) Veneers wouldn’t last long if my bite was off, either. So I opted for the “just get it all fixed the ‘right’ way” path. I’m used to them now, although as someone who is UBER self-conscious about her looks, it’s been a hard road. And it’s only been a month. But the 2 teeth are already looking better. (Let’s take them off now! ;) )

OMG – have you ever done the Isagenix thing? I have a friend who started selling it. So I did it for the 2 weeks while DH was recovering from knee surgery and I had to play nursie ( }( ). We couldn't really go many places since he was recovering. I did the whole cleanse (with my friend). I started getting really nasty, and called my husband a “food chewer” every time I had to make him a meal. You drink this wretched “juice” for 2 days (you can eat a few of these chalky tablets if you get hungry… what do you mean IF I GET HUNGRY???). Then you do a week of 2 shakes and a meal, and end it with 2 more days of the miserable juice again. Boy did I drop some weight. I did look a little better when it was all said and done (a little less “goo” to look at), but dang – it sucked. And as soon as non-Isagenix life started again, poof! Back to the “normal” me. Goo and all. I still have some in my pantry, taunting me.

Robin – traveling with wine is hard! DH and I have traveled to quite a few wine areas abroad and have come home with quite a bit of wine. We finally got smart and mailed the empty wine boxes (the kind with the styrofoam) TO our hotel as we left for vacation, then packed them all and checked them as luggage on the way home (obviously only when we take wine trips). :D This revelation came after DH and I spent an entire afternoon in Santiago, Chile trying to find sytrofoam and boxes to protect our 3 cases of wine that we had accumulated on our journey. Nobody understood us. And no wine store, winery, etc had anything for flight. UGH. It was so stressful. Luckily, DH is a brilliant engineer and fashioned some really GREAT travel protection for our wine and pisco. We didn’t lose a drop! :p Mmmmmmmmmmm pisco sours…

Tneah -- I'm sorry you had a bad night, too. Is there something going on astrologically that could be screwing us all up??? I will admit that I have been known to have a cocktail fairly early in the day on vacation. }( I think Vegas and New Orleans are the worst for that, though -- because it's hard in those places to tell when the night ends and the day begins.:) What darling outfit are you wearing to lunch today? I guess we'll see it in the photos. I'm sure that the big deal we are all making out of this lunch is not making you any less nervous -- we're too silly!

Robin -- a couple of years ago, DH & I went to Portland and brought home a ridiculous amount of wine -- packed in suitcases, carried on in those carriers -- seriously ridiculous. It was just a few weeks before they changed the rules about carrying on liquids; we'd have been in a real bind if they'd changed when we were coming through. One bottle was the most amazing dessert wine from the Ponzi Winery. When I tasted it, it reminded me of a bubble bath -- it was just incredibly lovely. Of course, the only place you can get it is at the winery, and it costs as much to ship it to TX as it does to buy it.;(

BG -- I hope Mr. Trainer (is that really what he calls himself?) makes all your wildest dreams come true (did you ever see "Napoleon Dynamite"? if not, then my previous statement will make no sense.) Seriously, I hope it will do for you what you want. Are you planning to do STS? Wow, you make Isagenix sound so tempting. ;-) It sounds like you and DH shop for wine on vacation like we do.

Wow! You've all been busy chatting today already! I slept in until almost 6:30 this morning, and then I was snooping around the Figleaves website. They're having a really good sale right now, if anyone is interested!

Hooray -- two good things are happening today! Tneah and I are meeting for lunch and fun (and we'll be sure to give our Melty Maidens a full report! :) ) and BIL just left for his new job! He was even looking at apartments again on-line last night . . . so I'm hoping that he'll be out of here SOON! The position he got is with one of the major cable companies, and it's a temp to permanent position, which means that if all goes well, it could become permanent really soon. :D

Robin -- LOL about harnessing the power of the night sweat, but I'm also so sorry that you had such a bad night's sleep! That's awful!! I'm sure that you'll still have a blast this weekend . . . and you'll be able to sample all that delicious wine!

Shelley -- Sorry your sleep sucked, too! Are you doing any better today, chica? Sending you {{{HUGS}}}!

Deb -- Ah, the Spitfire Syndrome is still keeping you up, too! ;-)

Peggie -- Glad you got your Coach Sean fix in yesterday! ;-)

Lainie -- Thanks so much again for setting up the forum. Did you get that RT email this morning? From the sound of that, it sounds like we might not get any warning when they take the forum down. I hate it, too, when DH throws off my schedule. Have fun doing KPC today, and just take it easy if your shoulders hurt too much!

Breckie -- Hooray for your day off! Love the celebratory smilies! :) Hmm . . . I wonder why you haven't had your usual workout energy. When you saw your new Dr. last month, did she do a complete physical and run blood work? If things got overshadowed by the mammogram scare, perhaps you could make an appointment with her and get things checked out. Has anything else changed in your routine? So sorry that you haven't had your usual energy!! {{{HUGS}}}! That Isagenix stuff sounds . . . er . . . interesting. No food makes Leanne a very sad camper.

Shannon -- Congrats on your new car!!! That is so awesome!! How exciting that it'll be here soon for you to enjoy!

Tneah -- Oh no about Mitch's nightmare! It really does sound like he's under a lot of stress and pressure. Probably the new product launch, combined with the stock market things and the major decision about retiring on the boat, are all taking their toll on him. I;m SOOO excited about meeting today! We will have fun . . . we'll be able to gossip and try on lots of makeup and shop and b*tch about the hubbies, etc. I can't wait!!! :)

Kristi -- Sending you {{{HUGS}}}! I'm so sorry that that volunteer job is turning out to be so much work. Is there someone you can split the work with? Uh, yeah, send the dog my way; we can lock him up in the guest bedroom to keep BIL company! ;-) Tneah and I are meeting at 1:00 for lunch!

Kristi -- I think you're right -- all this talk of our lunch today is probably making Tneah and me both super nervous! ;-) I'm just trying to chill-ax about it! ;-) I LOVE _Napoleon Dynamite_! It's one of our favorite movies.

OK, now I think that we all need to take naps and drink lots of wine today. That seems to be our new theme! :)

Hi guys, I am BACK! Just in time for the forums to shut down! Ack!!! I only have a second, but wanted to say a happy morning to all of you lovely ladies! I have missed you! I hope everyone is well and having a fun July. :) I have a zillion things to tend to, but will be back when I am able!

I am so relieved to have survived these last two weeks!!!:7 :7 :7

I hope the forum isn't down for long! Boo. x(

Talk to y'all soon,

Kara :)
