Mel's Complete Weight loss Rotation update Jan 14th

Hi Sunny & Allison...and whoever else would like to join! I'm trying to fit into those pre-pregnancy jeans!! Yes! My goal is the end of the month.

This week went well. On Wednesday I began a modified South Beach/ Ab Diet as it appeared my weight was going nowhere. It's basically a low carb diet--I'm careful not to fully exclude carbs b/c I'm nursing...so a modified diet. I lost 5 inches & 5 pounds this week. Yahoo!! I wonder if that's typical? Inches lost = pounds lost?

Here's what I'm planning on doing this week
Sun: Kickmax + Ab Conditioning**
Mon: Imax2 + TJ's Lower Body + Ab Conditioning
Tue: Body Max
Wed: CTX All Step + Step & Intervals cardio only + Core Max 1
Thurs: 60 min kickboxing choice + Ab Conditioning
Fri: Circuit Max + Ab Conditioning
Sat: Low Max + Ab Conditioning

** Ab Conditioning is:
50 traditional ball crunches
50 oblique ball crunches
8 inverse pikes on ball x2 reps
30 second straight arm plans x 2 reps

Let's continue to lose weight, inches & see that 6 pack ladies!!!

HI Melanie and Allison,
I am up early this Sunday morning want to get my workout in before heading off to church.

My week is going to look like this
Sunday:Circuitmax
Mon:Treadmill (45-60min) Abs
Tues:gymstyle legs
wed:timesaver #2
Thurs:pyramid upperbody ( plus 30 min elliptical)
Friday:Off
Sat: firm-total body sculpt

I am happy to report i lost another lb..woohoo. in spite of the mcdonalds i ate yesterday}(
my ds passed his belt test for tae kwon do..so we celebrated, hehehe

Melanie-5lbs and 5inches...WOW!!! congratulations...that is grrrrrreat. i am so impressed. please tell me what your diet looks like.
 
Here's a typical day so far:

8am hardboiled egg + handful cashews + 8oz milk
11am 1tsp pure peanut butter + celery
1pm healthy salad with lots veggies + skinless chicken breast+ milk
3pm smoothie ==concoction of yogurt,milk,straweberries,pb,oatmeal
5pm = dinner, lots meat & veggies + 16 oz milk
8pm= fat free fudgesicle or fat free lunch meat + cheese

lots and lots of water & sugar free gum throughout the day

Today I did Kickmax + ab conditioning. I will try to get another smaller workout in later today. I'm thinking TJ 20 min workout. :)

Great job on wt loss. They say slower off...the better. My diet allows me to have one "cheat" day a week. I think I will narrow it down to one cheat "meal" per week until I've hit closer to my goal wt anyway. ;) Tonight we're having lasagna in crockpot...a new receipe. Perhaps tonight will be my cheat dinner?

hi melanie, i'm here, i'm here!!

i may try cutting down my card intake this week and see what happens.
yesterday i did cardiokicks instead of circuitmax and today i did gymstyle legs( 33 min premix), plus thru in some bulgerian squats & leg extensions on our strength machine. I also did 20 mins on elliptical. it's 60 degrees where we live so we took the kids to the park and i walked the track for a mile and a half. Good day for me today!!

Would you mind sharing your crockpot lasagna recipe? I love cooking using the crockpot.
 
Hi Sunny! Did you mean to say you were going to cut down on your carbs? It says "card" so I didn't know if you meant cardio or carbs?!?! But since you did elliptical today, I'm going with the carb thing.

I LOVE my crockpot. Use it ALL the time. Do you have the book Fix it and Forget it? It is by far the best slow cooker book out there. I just purchased Low Carb Slow Cooker cookbook from amazon, hopefully it's good.

Do you get Krafts Food & Family reciepe magazine? It's free & comes out a few times a year. I really enjoy it and get lots of receipes from there. Here's they're hurl: http://www.kraftfoods.com/kf

LOl, yes i did mean to say carbs. i was typing with one hand (jaden was in the other) and i thought i corrected all the typos.

I love my crockpot. it's so handy!! i do have that book. i need to go tbru it again. I purchased that book also and am disappointed alot of the things listed are not things my family would eat. i wish i would have known you were about to purchase.

i do get the kraft mag also.

thanks ahead of time for the recipe.

today i did HIIT on the treadmill. boy does that make you sweat buckets. i was just reading about it on another website and it was stated HIIT is optimal for fat loss.
I also did abs- 50 crunches on the ball, 25 crunches, 25 oblique crunches each side, 30, leg raises and 2/15sec plank.

what's on your agenda for today?
 
Where's Allison? What is HIIT? Today is Justin's 2nd Birthday.

I did Body Max & ab conditioning. I was hoping to get a 2nd workout in but Jadon is way too fussy today. :(

The good news is I"m wearing my jeans. They're getting more comfortable! Yeah!

Hi Guys,

I'm here, I'm here! Sorry I haven't posted in a few days. Work has been excessive and my little guy is teething pretty hard. So sleeping is irratic, exercise has been minimal, and foodwise - well, I fell off the wagon over the weekend. Anyway, back and ready to go...especially after reading Mel's stats! Way to go!

Not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow. I'm wondering if I should do Cardio or try out High Step Challenge for the first time. Of course, it will be followed by the ab challenge!

Hi ladies (glad to have you back allison!),

HIIT is high intensity interval training. I am not sure how to post a link here but i am sure if you googled it or picked up any fitness mag you would be able to read about it. it's also promoted by bill phillips (body for life).

Happy Belated birth Justin!! Did you have a bday party for him?

Congrats on getting into your jeans...mission (almost)accomplished!!!

Allison- I completely understand. If i had to work right now i know for sure my workouts would suffer:(

today is pyramid upper body (had to change around my rotation this week) and already did 35 min. on the elliptical.
 
Not a good day. I tried to workout, but Jadon stopped me about 10 times. I was able to exercise maybe 30 minutes. I felt awful, I was tired and trying to do this to get some energy. Then I started an awful fight with my DH, that ended up lasting several hours (I cried most of it).
So, I'm officially calling this day off. I was hoping to get a TJ workout in this evening when kids go to bed, but both of the little ones are fussy & crying. Not a chance tonight either. :(

It'll be better tomorrow Mel! I'm actually hoping to go into overdrive today. I did IMAX2 this morning, just completed my Ab conditioning and am hoping to get another workout in tonight. Have a feeling I might be too tired though. And now I'll be brave enough to post my stats...

Today is much better (as you promised Allison). This AM I did KPC, I will do ab conditioning and hopefully Turbo Sculpt this PM. Our stats are very similar Allison. We can do it!

ugh, i hate those days. it's rough when the kids are fussy. i feel grumpy on the days i don't get to workout. hopefully you will feel better soon!

i did lowmax today. boy do i love that workout!! no second workout for me:7

tomorrow is my off day (woohoo!!) the only thing i plan on doing is a segment from stretchmax, and maybe a segment from coremax...hehehe

i ordered some new sneakers today (nike shox legend trainers) i can't wait to get them.

oh, btw, dh tried kpc for the first time last night
it kicked his butt:p

ok, now i am off to play with the kids outside and then to tae kwon do. have a nice eve/nite ladies.
 
I can't imagine DH doing any of my workouts. When I know he's looking, it inspires me to kick & jump higher though... I guess all my yelling did some good, b/c DH is really super dooper nice to me today. :D :D

My DH tried a workout once with me and just stressed himself out trying to get the steps! I didn't get that second workout in...I'll just consider spotting little gymnasts a low impact workout. ;)

Hi there! Today I did Circuit Max + Turbo Jam Cardio Party 1 + Core Max 2
Tomorrow I think I will do Hardcore Extreme workout #1 instead of low max. We'll see.

Tonight I did IMAX3 plus Ab Conditioning. Feeling pretty well. Mel, how long are the TJ tapes - trying to get an idea of how much extra cardio you're doing? Have a great weekend.

yesterday was my off day. i didn't do anything...

today i just finished the firm, body sculpt plus segment 1 from coremax. i feel wiped out today for some reason.
