Mega Step Blast?

Cathlete
Hello,
I've been buying Cathe video's for the last year and I finally took the plunge and started with Mega Step Blast last week. I only can get through half the video, and I thought I was in good shape ha ha. How do you guys do it? I've have been trying to go a little farther each time I do the tape, but just cannot seem to get any farther. I look at some of the rotations you do and think WOW!! Will I ever get there. Thank you ahead of time.

Hi NicoleP!

For sure you will get there!!!! You're on the right track...a little more each time. I still do that with some of the videos. Don't compare yourself to anyone else here, just challenge yourself, and measure your progress against yourself. (I need a thesaurus..I used "yourself" way too many times.) Keep us all posted on your progress. I don't have Mega Step Blast, but I have most of the others. You'll see the same moves crop up in different videos, put together differently, so once you master the techniques, you'll be fine.

What other Cathe videos do you have, and have you tried any of them yet? Tell us, and we can all chime in on which ones are our favorites. I LOVE Step Jam. Oh, yeah, and Step Works. And Powermax...actually, I love them all. (Even Bodymax, which has me talking back(ok, swearing)to the TV during the workout!!!)

Hi Nicole!

Veronica gave you good advice. Make it YOUR workout! Just curious~where do you have your step heighth set??? If it is at 8", maybe try backing it down to 6" or EVEN 4" til you can master the whole tape. Just an idea. Any of Cathe's tapes are a challenge, so enjoy the journey!!!

Hey Nicole,
Don't feel bad I just did IMax for the first time today at 5:00a.m.,:-wow :-wow and I loved it, but I could barely make it through the 10th interval. NOT a good video to do that early in the morning. Just keep plugging and you'll make it. Amy Jo

Nicole, you have some good advice here already. Try lowering your step height, even if it has no risers. Drop the arm action to below the head for a set or two. You just have to keep doing the workout, and you will develop endurance. You may even try, instead of stopping at the same place every time, just do basics for another five minutes. Then the next time, see if you can add on basics, 5 minutes with the group, then go back to basics. Also, maybe you are working out too hard in the beginning? Pace yourself, and you may be able to go a little longer. This are truly killer workouts, so don't be discouraged. :)

Again, all the above advice is excellent of course. When I do a new tape that I find a little too challenging cardio-wise I usually will pause the tape and walk in place until I catch my breath then restart it where I left out. For some reason it's better for my psyche if I at least finish the entire tape even if it takes me twice as long to do it. Then each time I do the tape I try to wait just a little bit longer before I hit the pause button. Just my two cents ;)
