Medicine ball

Could someone tell me what weight medicine ball Cathe uses? Is there a way to tell how heavy I should go? Can you substitute a hand weight? Or just link me to the info if the answer has already been on a post?

Cathe uses an 8 lb ball in the Intensity series. But yes, you can substitute a dumbbell for most exercises. Cathe usually shows someone modifying with a dumbbell.

I use a six pound medecine ball (because the store I went to only had a choice between six and nine, and the nine pounder seemed really large). I got it at Sports Authority (in DE where there is no sales tax). They often run 25% coupons in the newspaper, so I got it for around $25.

I actually have a 4 lb and an 8 lb. I think I got mine at Sports Mart but I have had mine for a couple of years. I don't remember what I paid for them.
