Me Too! :)

Well, I'd like to join the preggo club! :)

About 2 weeks ago I found out that I was pregnant! My husband and I had only been trying for about a month. I was browsing this forum awhile back and saw a posting suggesting someone read the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility." I followed her suggestions and it worked…quick! I was shocked it happened so quickly! We are so pleased! I'm actually about 6 weeks along and feeling pretty good. I get nauseous when I deny myself food - so, I'm finding myself constantly reaching for a snack, which seems to help. I’ve not gone to the doctor to officially confirm anything, but an appointment is set for mid-November. According to the books my due date is right around July 1.

This is our first child and, as far as my extended family goes, this will be the second grandchild on both sides of our family. We have not told our parents yet – which is driving me crazy because we are all very close. We have been trying to decide the funnest way to surprise them. Both sets of parents have been laying the pressure on (in a nice way) to have kids pretty much the whole time we have been married (6 ½ years). We were considering waiting until we have the first ultrasound and making copies to give each set of parents - possibly for a Christmas gift. . . I just don’t think I can wait that long to share the happy news!

Thanks for letting me share the news here!

Yay! That is so exciting! I'm so happy for you --
I'm in the same boat as you... I don't have my first appt until Nov 17th. I'm waiting to tell a lot of people until then -- just because I don't want to jinx anything. Most of my family knows, simply because they knew we were trying and they'd ask, "so, are you pregnant yet?"
I'll be due just before you - June 26th. How exciting! I just started feeling queasy about a week ago. Actually, today is my worst day yet... but eating small snacks frequently helps.

That's a great idea to send sonogram pictures in Xmas cards! Can you wait that long to tell people? Right now I'm ready to explode because I want to tell everyone at work.

Congratulations! There seems to be something in the water, don't you think? ;-) Take care of yourself and your little one, and I hope to talk to you soon

Thanks Charlene!
Actually, it was your post a few weeks back that prompted me to buy a pregnancy test. I was having the same symptoms as you - tired and dizzy. My period was a few days late - but, I thought it was delayed due to stress. Hubby was 100% certain I was pregnant. So, I thought, 'What the heck' - I ran out to the store and got a couple of different tests. (Had to be sure!) Hubby stood outside the door while I did the test and literally within seconds the 2 lines showed up. What a happy moment to share together. :)

Like you I want to wait until after the first appointment. It just seems too good to be true. I can't wait to tell all my family and friends after that. I don't think I can wait until Christmas - I'm way too excited.

Hopefully all goes well for you as well. I'll keep you in my prayers and be checking back to learn of your progress.

Christy - Congratulations!!!! How exciting!! That reminded me of how we told our family about our first son. I didn't want to tell anyone until I was 3 months (that was so hard!!!) because I was nervous that something might happen. Anyway, my parents had given my husband and I a basket for Valentine's Day a year before and in the basket was a garden rock that said, "Be fruitful and multiply." It was a little irritating at the time because we weren't ready to start our family yet. My parents have trouble being subtle! ;-) So, what we did to tell them is we wrapped the rock as a Christmas present and taped our first ultrasound picture on the bottom. Needless to say, the waterworks began! Later, we joked about it!
It is so fun if you can hold out! It is neat to have a fun story attached, too! This time we just told everybody because they all knew that we were trying and kept asking about it, just like Charlene! Good luck!!

Sara,
Your story is so cute. I just had to respond and tell you that. I'd like to hold out until Christmas, but it seems so far away.

We never got the "subtle" hints you did - it was more in conversation or flat out questions - "when are you going to have kids?" There have been many a time where I have been irritated at the remarks.

It's been a joke recently with my mom - she started getting comments by some friends inquiring as to when we were ever going to have kids...she just sarted replying to them, "they are not going to have kids". Boy, do I got a surprise for her :)

Hey Ladies--
I just think this is so great that there are several of us who conceived around the same time and will be going through the same changes and symptoms at the same time. I really believe there's something in the water -- both my hubby and I have co-workers that are expecting... Even Debra Messing from "Will & Grace" is pregnant! I'm so excited for everyone -- have I said that enough yet? ;-)
Keep in touch mommies-to-be! :) :) :)
