Carole, I think you mentioned Freestyle on another thread, & I've been playing w/my routine thanks to the sudden appearance of cellulite this year. I'd forgotten about Freestyle & I think it might help.

As I understand it, Freestyle has a focus on legs with low weights/high rep. Basic principle being you can tone the legs & butt while at the same time burn fat more efficiently b/c your working your largest muscles. Did I get that right?

So what I'm wondering is, if I do one high rep/low weight routine at the gym, & 2-3 heavy bag workouts at home with a focus on kicks (& let me tell you, my legs are so sore after the heavy bag workouts!), plus 1-2 kettlebell workouts, would this qualify as enough leg work? Or do I need to add another routine, like maybe B&G?

I must say, as much as I hate this weight gain, I'm kind of having fun messing around w/my exercise routine. :p

Anyway, I'd really appreciate your input. :)

Hi Laura...You seem to have the Freestyle concept down. I think what you have planned would work. Freestyle is working the legs hi rep/low weight, 4-6 days a week, 4-6 leg exercises a day doing roughly 4x20 reps for each exercise. I think kicks would be good for a Freestyle workout. Not sure about any Kettleball workouts (as I don't have any, yet!). Meaning I don't know how much you will work your legs in those workouts? That being said you could add a B&G or L&G workout if you think you are not hitting the legs enough...;)

I always enjoy doing Freestyle every now and then and like you messing around with your workout routine is fun...and probably good for shocking the the muscles...:)..HTH

Thanks for the response Carole! Very helpful. Sounds like I'm on the track of a modified Freestyle workout, which I think will be just fine (as long as I get results ;)).

Laura:

go back a few days and take a look at the thread bitmover started entitled "Tneah or anyone --lifting lighter?". I think it is currently listed as thread day 3. It has a lengthy response from someone about freestyle training and lists resources on this training method. Could be useful to you?

Laura...it can take about 6 weeks to see results so don't give up too soon...:)...
