Good morning ladies...

Today's workout is going to be High Step Training...I think that is the one with lots of leg presses..I guess it can't be any worse then Muscle Endurance's leg presses!! Anyway, I will get to that after school lessons...

Today is also our last day of CCD. We have that late this afternoon..

Ok, time to get the kids up for their lessons!! Talk to you later..

Good morning! I haven't done HST in forever, Kathy. Last day of CCD -- whooo-hooo!

I must come to some minor defense of Cindy..... she put out a few workouts back in the 90s, I think it must have been, with a trainer named Radu. Maybe one was with a woman trainer. They are ok workouts, really, but.... I noticed yesterday she did have really bad form for some things. I actually did own at least one of hers on VHS many many moons ago.....

This morning...... ug, I slept in. I went to bed late, and then Dylan woke me up in the night with a huge headache, saying he hadn't slept at all, blah blah. I gave him some motrin and then rolled in bed for a couple of hours worrying that he has a brain tumor. Sheesh! I'm a mess. So, when my alarm went off, I turned it off. That's what I needed. I'm going to let him sleep as late as I can.

Joanne, have you talked about this? Will you be going to the Chicago RT? One was announced, right? I've been meaning to ask and keep forgetting. I sure wish we could all meet up at one someday. Wouldn't that be great?

Oh, and Hottie, do you know Giselle Fernandez? She was also in my class at high school, and it turns out Belinda Carlisle was there a couple of years ahead of me. Craziness! All this found out because my mom mentioned that Heather Locklear was arrested again recently, and then I had a little dispute with my sister as to whether or not she had been married to Tommy Lee. So, I had to do some digging to prove myself (yes, this is how I spent my time while sitting there doing nothing else) and found out these others.

Chris, how was work? When does it start feeling like a "weekend" to you?

Have a good one..... Monday, Monday......

Hi ladies!!

Beth, good to see you back safe and sound. It must be very reassuring to know your mom is in good hands with your niece there. Don't feel bad - I had a couple Cindy Crawford DVDs too. People were raving about them on VF and of course I had to try them. I wound up selling them on ebay a few years ago. Oh yea, I'd go to the Chicago road trip!! It looks like they are planning one in Chicago, but no dates have been announced yet. Would you really come to it?? That would be so fun. How was Dylan this morning? I worry about crazy stuff too. Always fearing the worst!

Chris, hope you are getting some well deserved rest! Hope work wasn't too bad last night.

Hi Hottie!! Pics of your hair please! ;) It's the best when you find a hair stylist that you like.

Kathy, I know that feeling of last CCD! It's been great the last two weeks not getting everyone up early.

We had a fun weekend. Colin had a soccer game late Saturday. So, we spent the afternoon cleaning the house. It's already a mess, but it felt good when it was clean those four hours! ;) Sunday the kids just played outside all day. 15-20 kids running around and in and out of each other's houses all day. We're lucky to have a lot of kids on our block that all get along! We had dinner at the neighbors and then everyone came over here for cake for DH's birthday. The neighbors and about 15 kids! Good think cause they finished off the cake (lemon with lemon frosting, mmmm) so none left to tempt me.

Oh yea, Beth, we watched the Hawks/Sharks game too!! Aren't you a Sharks fan? We got you 1-0 so far! ;)

Oh, I forgot my workouts. Well, none this weekend. Today I did a step workout from Discount Workouts. It was all vertical step. I liked it.

Must go...have a good day all!!

OMG Beth, I thought of you this morning. I woke up around 5a (like yesterday too because I miscalculated the the delay time for my washer and we have these high pressure pipes and I woke up thinking a gremlin was in my house) and I didn't want to move and I actually whimpered that I wish I could be like you and get my day on early! Not that I was planning on working out today, just wanted to get in earlier before the rain set in. But I was thinking...if I could just get my workout done a little bit before 7 (more divine would be 630) I would feel so much more accomplished in the day and I'd probably have more energy! I know of Giselle Fernandez because she was on Dancing with the Stars or something? I think she gave a talk at Annenberg once when Joe was doing his masters there as well. Was heather married to Tommy? I thought it was Pamela Anderson...nope, maybe it was both. They look so similar! Ahh...Tommy Lee...when I hear of his name I think of the Bowling for Soup song "1985" with the line "when did motely crue become classic rock?" the brain tumor is sort of funny in a way though...

Kathy -- I don't actually have that DVD (big surprise). I like the aftereffect of leg presses but not while i'm doing them! last day of CCD! woot!

Joanne -- well, maybe I should go to the Chicgo RT then! :) Joe can work out of the Chicago office and I can crash at his family and my friend's place in Naperville! LOL! (I am never flying into Chicago ever again! I hate that airport!) I would put up pictures of my hair if Joe could ever take a good picture of me. ::sigh:: People used to call me photogenic because I rarely looked bad in photos (and when I did I DESTROYED THEM) but between Joe pudging me up and his inability to click a freaking button on a camera, there are not many photos of me anymore. he took some yesterday but ehh...real trick is to see if I can make it look good after I wash my own hair. It always looks better when a stylist does it. We kept it long (she in fact wants it longer) but I like my layers...I like it too when other people eat the tempting food before i can get to it. I may not lose weight but they gain!

Ok, I should finish taking my vitamins and plan for the rest of the day...

Hey Girls,

Just a quickie (well, we'll see if I can keep it quick).

Had THE best night last night at work! It was so quiet and NO admissions. Granted I was fighting falling asleep at the nurse's station more than once, but it was kind of nice. No big stress.

Today is a cardio day and BM2 cardio blast premix is on tap for 62 minutes. I'm thinking if I move my buttocks fast enough , I can get out for a run first (neighborhood, not at the park) and then do a shorter premix of BM2.

But , again, I will have to somehow get my procrastinating buttocks moving here. ....

If I don't run today, the weather looks like I'll only get one day in this week. I need 2!!!

Okay, better RUN! I'll try to BBL to catch up with you guys.

I ran in the neighborhood for 35 minutes and then came home and did HIS + most of the extended stretch from STS.

Snack, and now shower and supper!

Lower key supper, Zach has a bb game, so it's just me, Al and Jake...

Hey girls again!

Hottie, you know if you stay in Naperville, you still have to fly into Chicago? Did you fly into OHare or Midway? Midway is much, much smaller and easier to navigate. And, it's actually closer to downtown than Midway. How cool if you could go!! But, it looks like it won't be here for awhile. Cathe just announced a Texas RT for October, I think. Unless Chicago is before that one, it wouldn't be till next spring, probably.

Chris, great workout and run!! Lots of good cardio! Glad work wasn't too bad...

Ugh, I have to think of something for dinner. Monday's are my only day at home during the week, so I try to cook. Well, it's 5:15 - better get on that!!

Dylan was fine.... he slept until after Travis and I left, and Larry took him to school late. It's crazy what the middle of the night can do to us, eh?

Sounds like you had a good weekend, Joanne. I love to hear your stories of all the neighborhood kids running around together, because that's definitely how I grew up in Michigan, but I had thought that just didn't really happen anywhere anymore. So nice to hear about it!

Yes, I'm a sharks fan, and Larry and Travis even went to that game! We thought we had four tix, but it worked out to two. So, they went and I took Dylan to see Furry Vengence. However its spelled!! It's really stinging when they lose after paying so much for playoff tix. I didn't mind the price when they won! :)

Hottie, yes, pics! It sounds like a very expensive stylist! Bet you'll have my price beat! :p Long layers works better in my hair, that's for sure.

They were both married to Tommy Lee, and that was the source of the dispute, I guess. Don't know anything, really, about Giselle except that she used to be Gigi and she lost her great accent, from what I can tell. She seems to do a lot of "news" stuff, where news could be covering Hollywood stuff.

Chris, glad work was quiet! I entertained the idea of going for a run, but Travis needs help with homework, and..... it's cold and rainy here again! So strange.

gotta go.....

Oh, one sentence got deleted Joanne -- I was joking about how I would only go if I didn't have to fly into Chicago. you know, i don't remember which one I was at but all i remember is that we got stuck there and there were five conventions all at once so not a single hotel had a room so we had to call Joe's uncle who didn't come to the wedding at midnight to come take us to Naperville. And then back on a flight first thing to LA the next morning. Before that, I only knew Illinois through Bloomington/Normal to visit Joe's mom and Steak N Shake when we drove cross country. Did you know I considered applying to UofI at Urbana-Champagne for grad school because they just got all this massive funding for biotechnology but I had never heard of it pronounced U of I so I didn't realize at first it was in Illinois? After i realized it was I crossed it off the list (I'm a city girl, what can I say...) Make lamb curry! Man...I'm craving lamb curry...

Beth -- HAHAHAHAHA -- didn't I tell you I'm uber cheap. You wanna know how much I paid? Really? I'm a promotion finder...

$50 (and free parking!!)

And I gave her a $25 tip because that's all I could do!!! One day though, when I'm no longer making crap, I swear the service industry will love me (when they do a good job -- I'm notoriously mean for bad service and tipping). Though, Joe said that I gave 50% but then I argued that I gave her more like 10-15% from her normal price. But man, she was nice and was sympathetic to being a lowly phd student. Also, she was being nice to me because I accidentally went to her former location (which was across the street) and encountered her former boss who was super bitchy and didn't just walk away. But she said she'd try to work out something for me since we were talking about microtip extensions for my alopecia (where my eyes must of gotten huge when I said...uhh...how much would that be?). Her energy was what I needed...considering that she let me come in on a Sunday before another client and then let Joe and evee into the salon but she just didn't bat an eye at being "fabulous." I can't really describe it except, hollywood? Just imagine an armenian accent and a woman telling me how to be sexy, dahling, and nonononono and just a lot of cute stuff. But i don't mind paying more for a good haircut...I'm so sick of these sucky ones.

Speaking of which my lab sucks! They notice A MAN getting a trim but no one notices my layers. ::pout:: the other grad student said, men notice length not layers. well, they suck.

it was cold and rainy here today as well, but it's getting better. i'm hoping to get a workout in the evening...if I don't cook lamb curry.

Man, I'm sleepy. Less than an hour to go. And then we're probably back to playing FFXIII (which we logged in 18+ hrs in a span of three days...because we're that lame...)

oh I forgot -- she apparently did Anna Nicole Smith's hair before she passed away and after she lost the weight.

AND

guess what I saw while we were driving down Santa Monica Blvd leaving Bev Hills? I saw a Physique 57 studio being put up. I could see the boxes being unpacked! But they had the sign/logo thing on full display!

A little after dinner downtime... VERY little, until I start being Homework Nazi.

Kathy: Hope you had fun with HST!. I know, after a while the leg presses get to me too. They wind you!!! Right? It's funny, our last CCD was EONS ago, I think in April?

Beth: Sorry you had a crappy night. I know, I've had those middle of the night mind crazies about Zach too! Speaking of stupid worrying, this morning on my drive home, as I got closer to my house, a firetruck and 2 ambulances drove by me with their sirens on. They headed in the EXACT direction of my house, and I just kept thinking they were heading to my house, that something happened to Zach. I really got panicky! ..... I know, back when I started working out, I had a CHER step video, I LOVED it! I kind of miss it, but I know it would be WAY easy! I do remember debating on buying the Cindy Crawford video. She had a step one, right? .... And I'm thinking, what is it that ANYONE sees in Tommy Lee Jones? *shudder*. .....

Hottie: Nothing like a good haircut and finding a new stylist to make you feel good! I understand, greg never can take a decent photo of me either.

Joanne: That is very nice you socialize with your neighbors like that. Our kids are friends with all the kids down the street, but it's harder with the parents, because of their schedules. Seems like they all work full time and we never see them. They do organize different neighborhood things, but we hardly ever go, because they are on the weekends. ... The cake sounded so good! Glad you didnt' have tempting leftovers!....That would very cool if you got to go the the Chicago RT!!!! If I were adventurous, I'd try to go to. I'm so not adventurous!. *sigh*

Just a funny work story. Not sure if you remember, but I had a patient last week that was VERY aggressive/restless/confused and I had to wrestle with him ALL night long. Well, this weekend, he was more subdued. Not sure why. Maybe the medications? .... But he really is a funny man. And I enjoy his sense of humor too. I gave him some colace liquid medication to take, it's pink and syrupy. SO he takes the cup and starts sipping it, I tell him it's for his bowels, it's a stool softener. he ends up spilling a bit on the front of his gown. So I said, "OR..you could wear it". And what does he do? he takes the full cup of pink syrupy medicine and spills it ALL over the front of his gown with a shit eating grin on!. I cracked UP!. I told him he looked VERY nice in pink!

I had another patient that wasn't all quite there mentally either. So she wakes up at 3am and tells the nurse's aide that she KNOWS she's starting a new exercise class in the morning, but can NOT think of what it is! She was so insistant she had to get to an exercise class (in reality , she was going for hip surgery!). My friends starting laughing at me, because they thought I was brainwashing my patients to do workouts!

My job, seriously , is never boring!

We posted at the same time! Drinks with Hottie!

It's funny, I can PICTURE Santa Monica Blvd! I was there before! We walked there from our hotel when we were in LA, and went to a few little shops there. (This is when Kathy Smith flew us out to put me in her commercial for her beachbody videos!!!)

Hi ladies!! I'm trying for the cupcake here... ;)

Chris, oh, that is scary about the ambulances. Maybe I posted about this before, but one time I left the kids at home while I drove Jameson to early morning band practice. I'm only gone about 10 minutes. I pull into our street and there are two firetrucks on our block. I couldn't tell which house they were in front of. Oh my god - I totally freaked! Turned out it was dryer fire which they caught quick. In another house. Freaky stuff. Good thing you have a sense of humor with your patients!!

Hottie, wow, you have quite the celebrity hairstylist there! I think your tip was fine. You're supposed to tip on the regular price, not the discounted price. U of I is a great school. It's getting harder and harder to get into. Steak N Shakes nearby, too. ;)

Beth, cold and rainy here too. Kids had a half day and couldn't even go outside. I know you told me before, but where in Michigan did you grow up?

Gotta go yell at the kids to take their showers and go to bed. Can't wait till school is over!!

Night..night...

Joanne
