Mass building/loss on P90X?

I agree (though the type and amount of cardio Tony does fits in perfectly with the P90X goal of building muscle).

I didn't use any of their supplements or follow the eating plan, and I was happy with my results (which I didn't maintain with Cathe's workouts, by the way). I did add a post-workout 'refueling' that had near the same macronutrient breakdown as their 'recovery drink' (I used "Power Dream," a soy-milk-based beverage, but now I mix rice milk and Vega meal replacement and enough fruit to get a higher carb count: about 4 to 1 carbs to protein).

Kathryn: I've been so focused on doing P90X that I didn't consider what happens afterwards. It seems disappointing that you can make gains and then lose them when you are done with the rotations. Any thoughts as to why you didn't maintain? I'd like to use your experience to avoid that problem if I can! :)

Hi Sophie:

I'm not saintly with the eating! Pretty good but of course I don't have the same results as Michele either!

We all are trying to figure out what's after X! I plan to start a 2nd round after 6-8 weeks off.

Hope to see you other there :)

Shelley - Glad to know you are still bringing it! Week 10 starts for me! Recovery week was not good but I'm having an excellent week 9 - only 1 double but loving it!

Several factors: I had a hard time transitioning back into Cathe-style, straight-set workouts (and really disliked them for a while), but I didn't want to continue on with P90X for any longer at the time. I also lost my motivation for doing a long, intense rotation like P90X, and kind of floundered with things for a while. By the time I got back into more regular rotations, including a Gym Styles rotation that I patterned after P90X, I wasn't as regular as I was with P90X.
